If I want to say some one live not close to me. What do i say? Is it "She lives further away than i do." or is it "She lives farther away than I do." I was writing in my journal and I didn't know what one to use.

I believe it is " she lives farther away than I do" , but what is the subject of the sentence you are trying to write? Are you trying to say she lives farther from a certain place than you do? Or something else? The beginning of your post was hard to understand. Also, "i" should be capatalized.

Whoops, I must have not proof read the begginning. I meant to ask, is further a word or do you say farther? They both sound correct to me, but I don't know.

They are both words. I forget which one is used in which context.

I think (not sure) but it might depend on if you are talking past, present or future terms. But again, I am not sure.

"Farther" is the correct word in this context.
"She lives farther away than I do."
"Further" is more metaphorical to use.
"He fell further and further into his drug addiction."
