((Here's to hoping I did this right. xD *not used to starting such things*))
Lyra was wet. Miserably, drippingly wet. I do not like this, she thought for the thirteenth time, flapping her wings in irritation, a shower of water falling from them. I do not like this at all. She did not like to be wet. Usually when it rained, she retreated into her cave in the mountains until it stopped. Lately, though, she had been spending far too much time in the forest for her liking, indulging the child who had recently been left in her care. She did not particularly dislike the forest itself, but it always made her feel slightly uneasy to be away from the safety of her own clan, even if Efui of any allegience were allowed to converge here. A teal face popped out of the nearby leaves. "You ok, Lyr?" It said, before emerging the rest of the way. The child's ears and tail were adorned with purple stripes, his feet purple, and he sported a purple design on his chest. He liked to think it looked like a pair of wings. "I'm fine," the older female replied in a grumbly sort of way that indicated she was not fine at all. She didn't expect this undertone to be caught by the rambunctious Twork, however, and she was correct. "Ok!" A smile returning to his face, Twork began an attempt to scramble up onto the next highest branch within his rather short reach. The two were high in the trees of the forest in which the Malkuth clan resided, nearing the upmost branches. The little teal child, of course, had not been able to climb this high; Lyra had carried him here.

Iola stretched, unfurling her brightly colored wings and rolling her shoulderblades as she extended her claws in front of her. It was warm and moderately dry in the upper canopy of the forest where she rested, observing life below her. She raised her head to the sun and closed her eyes contentedly, letting her fur soak up the warmth. She yawned and stood up. "Egad, I'm starving," Io muttered to herself, folding her wings and settling them against her back. She looked around at the early morning sun and sighed. "And it's getting late. I should probably get back to Kether before noontime..." she trailed off, her ears pricking up at the sound of voices from the canopy below her. What's this? she wondered to herself, curling herself behind a tree trunk and peeking at the Efui below her. Two of them, a juvenile and an adult...I wonder what clan they're from...

After several more moments of intense scrambling and struggling to pull himself up to the next branch, Twork finally seemed to give in, glancing back at his caretaker. "Uhh... Lyr? Little help?" Rolling her eyes a little, Lyra was nonetheless quick to comply, grasping the smaller child by the back of the neck and leaping into flight. She was careful not to strike her wings on any of the nearby branches, as the trees in the forest were relatively tightly packed. As she reached the upper reaches of the forest canopy, setting the teal child down on a large branch, her mind began to wander. I really hope this kid grows wings when he's older, she thought, stretching her own. Her muscles were sore from the extra strain of bearing his weight so often. At least it's a bit drier up here... Twork loved high places, and loved to fly, and since he had the good fortune to end up in the care of an adult with wings, he had taken full advantage. She, of course, had not been able to deny him. Strange and annoying as he could be sometimes, he certainly was cute. Her thoughts were interrupted abruptly by the high pitched voice of said child. "Lyr!" He exclaimed, jumping up and down a little in his excitement, "There's someone else here!" Somehow the little Efui never failed to notice anything in his surroundings, and he indicated a tree trunk behind which he had seen a flash of red.

Io's breath caught as the golden-colored Efui leapt into flight. She had met very few other efui in the Kether clan, and none except herself were winged. She had never seen what flying looked like. I wonder if it's safe to go say hello... she thought, but her question was answered when the shrill voice of the smaller Efui reached her ears. She winced imperceptibly and sighed. I guess I've got no choice now... she thought, flicking her tail pensively. With a roll of her shoulderblades, she spread her wings and flew over to the two Efui.

Mawk peered about him, crouched in the safe cover of the shadows from the ground, looking up as a shower of dew and water slopped against the leaves about him. He whimpered at the sudden sound and the trembling of the leaves after the water had hit them. The world around him, it seemed, was fraught with danger, and surprises that were there plainly to scare him as a first commitment.
The young Efui's coat was a velvety black in color, with his paws a soft gray white, as was his face and chest. His tail, too was tipped with white, and he had been born with light pink scars against his fur that belied his innate cowardice.
Yes, Mawk was a coward. There was little way else to describe him, and it was all in all not his fault. He had been born cautious and careful, and being alone had nursed its growth, until caution became fullblown scared.

An innocent newborn Efui, Hana slept deeply and contently in her comfortable little spot. A tender breeze played gently in the air of her surroundings and against her package. The bag crinkled soothingly and the temperature was just right as the coolness of the wind did not make direct contact upon her fur, but mingled into the bag voiding a walled space's characteristic mildness. The sun was bright and though it was a bush and not one of the nearby trees that shielded her, it was enough. Hana layed sprawled on her belly, mewing inaudibly in angelic, dreamless sleep, in which state none can disturb her from.

As night approached, the cold of the forest grew and the wind in contrast died down leaving the air as a still, cool blanket against the earth. Hana went about her evening ritual of tucking her tail into the bag as she scoots to a corner of her package, whipping her tail toward her to rest against her face. Hana's features scrunched slightly as she huddled to herself before returning to her adorable mewing. The little moonlight which shone past the leaves that shielded her danced sweetly against her fur as she continued to sleep.

Taviryl stirs from her sleep from where she laid, blinking twice, then lifting herself with her front paws. She stares at them and after a still second shakes her head making her ears sway in a quick jerk. She is very small under the majestic tree that shades her. She scans her surroundings, her gaze following the tree's large root before her and traveling up upon the bark. Her wings flitted as she lifted her head to gaze straight above her. She relaxed her head and turned her face to watch them as she flapped her wings for forcefully, floating into the air. She looked at the floor as her hindlegs left them and then looked up, taking herself up to the leafy green above her.

Landing by a berry bush, Taviryl approaches it coolly, neither in a rushed or careful pace with the same seemingly empty expression her eyes have always contained. Her mood never seemed to change, even as she picks her meal, gathering them with her mouth by their stems. She lifted her paw a bit, but still in a graceful and undisturbed manner as she picks another blackberry. Her movements intricate, maybe between without worry or sadness. She settles herself in the branches of a tree, a beautiful sunset view before her. Her head and shoulders rest against the bark as she stares at the view a while.
