Not really. A little differences but not that much the story would change. |

I think so. I mean, why someone would by manga if already had seen what happens in anime? |

Of course the drawings are a little different and episodes have a bit differences too, but... The story. Is is really a LOT different between anime and manga?
Because... SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED THE ANIME A LOT: Someone very cruel person had added to YouTube video called "The Death of Asuna" without Spoiler Alert and when I was searching for next Negima episode, I saw it there. And because I'm not stupid, I realized what was going on. To check if it was really true, I watched the video and YES, ASUNA DIED. So f***ing nice. Now I'm just wondering, is manga's story different from anime's? Because I don't feel like buying the manga if I know what's going to happen... crying Of course little things wouldn't matter, but I think this is a HUGE spoiler. Aargh!
So I'm really unhappy now. cry

After the Kyoto arc, the plot of the anime diverges almost completely from the manga. Not that it wasn't already being mangled before that, but after that point it becomes nearly unrecognizable. Asuna's death occurs in the anime because they needed some sort of climax to end the series because the manga still going strong at about 3 times the length of the anime. Also, the anime horribly misinterprets the origin of Asuna's magic nullifying abilities and (most likely) the cause of Nagi's disappearance.
Believe it or not, Asuna isn't dead at the very end of the anime. She dies at the end of ep 24, ep 25 has the rest of the class travel back in time then everyone does a pactio with Negi to fight some demons, and ep 26 pops them back up right around the end of ep 24 chronologically (but noone but Eva and Negi have any memory of what happened), and everyone stands in a circle and holds hands to save Asuna.
The anime sucks, doesn't it?

I don't like the anime. And when I say "don't like," that's me saying "I ABSOLUTELY DESPISED IT!" in the polite way. One point that really pissed me off, was the fact that they shrunk the 3 manga Kyoto storyline, into 2 episodes. Then they end the trip with Konoka and Setsuna kissing (only to save Setsuna's life) and they basically bottle up the relationship, never again to really be explored. They changed the characters (since when did the Narutakis have neon pink hair?!) the storyline, and made me angry. Grr! (now you know I'm angry!^^)

I haven't seen the anime yet, but I heard about Asuna dying a long time ago. I don't really like it when main characters die, so I'm glad that the manga's plot line is alot different from the anime. 3nodding

To be fair and honest I thought the anime was OK. Sure they may have changed and rearranged some things around but it's not something I would be so worked up on. But the story in the manga after volume six just goes downhill (in my opinion.) It's just not so appealing to me as I thought it would.
