Is it just me who struggles with Jazz chords? Or is it guitarists in general? It's partly that they have loads of flats, esp Eb and Ab, which causes mild irritations - but more than that it's the extensions:
Eb Maj7 #11 b5 6/9 / B

is it a case of learning how to change a chord with each bit of the extension, or just a case of learning several hundred new chords?

If the earlier option, then how does it all work? 7 = add a minor 7th to the chord, Maj7 = add a major 7th, but what does the rest mean?

Edit, unless you're playing a 7 string guitar, you'll only be able to play 6 of those notes. so pick your favorite ones and root it on a B.

Good old tri-tones! I'd be screwed without them! xp
