I have a few questions... In the long run, what are good foods to eat for your voice? In a shorter time? In the long run, what are bad foods to eat? In a shorter time?
I know there are discussions about everything, but I can never keep track of which ones which, and there are conflicting views. If there is a website for this, it would be very helpful.

This is a toughie... Anything acidic is bad for your voice in the long run, but Ive heard lemon will clear your voice out in emergency situation. Milk does make you voice gunky, but is good for it in the long run. Salt is always bad, because it dehydrates. Anything with mentol in it is bad in the short run because it numbs your throat and you can do serious damage to your voice without even knowing it. Throat Coat Tea will make your voice a little gunky but will protect your throat if you have a cough or something. Its good to drink a few hours before an audition or perfomac, at least thats been my experience.

FallenCreature317 Id say that dairy products make your voice gunky wich isnt good to sing with This is true. I can't really eat breakfast on Tuesdays, because that's when I have voice lessons... and breakfast inevitably includes milk. ._.;; Another bad food: anything really spicy. One of my "friends" here at school LOVES spicy foods, and she's got callouses on her vocal cords (she claims that they're FROM the spicy foods, but I think she just sings without air and the spicy foods make them worse).

Peanut butter really gunks up your throat as well.
I used to have choir right after lunch and I love peanut butter sandwiches, so... yeah, very gunky.
Apples are good for clearing your throat out as well, and I don't think they have as many negative long term affects as lemons.
