Okay, okay...I know most of us wonder about the characters' wardrobes. domokun (Or, it's just me...) But anyways, I wonder if L has a thousand pairs of white shirts and baggy jeans...
Obviously Misa has a bunch of clothes because of her career, and Raito has a normal wardrobe. --- On another note:
And about hair... Misa and Raito have light hair (sort of uncommon with Japanese... dyed hair is an exception. But, let's assume that their hair is 'naturally' light). And L, on the other hand, is supposedly European? (Yes, I do know that there are Europeans with dark hair...) Do you find some sort of symbolism with their hair color? Usually, those with light hair are supposedly "the good guy" and those with dark hair are "the villians"?
Okay, disscuss!!!
And, please don't quote the first post. I don't like seeing the same post quoted over and over. Thank you!

Well, yes and no. I've always viewed DN as a "dark hero" kinda of story. Good and eveil are only points of perspective. A person working towards one goal will view people standing agaist him as his opponets or "bad guys", and in some cases evil. At the same time that person would view himself as the hero. The same can be said for the opposing side. I think Light is a hero (then again, I've only read the first 5) because his motives are more genuine than a cold blooded killer. He fights for "justice". A little extreme yes, but his intentions are good. L on the other hand I also view as a hero, because he will stop atr nothing to achieve his goal of bringing down Kira. Well, I just lost my train of thought, so I'm gone.

Sometimes, in a way... L and Raito are not exactly evil. I like L more than Raito, but that's for a different time.
And I also noticed the thing about L's eyes and wardrobe. L never changes his outfit-- always the same white shirt and jeans. In some ways, I think it's sort of a way that L is supposed to be immortal. And Raito, on the other hand, has outfits he changes into, like he will be reincarnated in the future.
Oh my... I think I'm getting too obsessed with DN that I'm thinking "outside the box"xDDD
@ Jonny_Pheonyx: Sorry, I don't really have any piccys of Ryuk holding an apple... sweatdrop

That's ok. I'll keep working on it. I think L's cloths are symbolic of society and those who stand up to face whatever dangers there might be. Light (Ratio) is that danger (but not in his opinion), and he also represents the many people who disrupt and harm society. "If you strike down one, two will pop back up."

Sometimes I think L is cheap... xp But, then he has all the equipment, technology and leisure living. {er, I guess we can call being chained to Raito, 'leisure living'}
But, since L doesn't go out a lot, I suppose he doesn't have to buy too many clothes.
As for Raito... he's a ladies' man... xD He has to dress the part.

[~.NittleGrasper.~] Usually, those with light hair are supposedly "the good guy" and those with dark hair are "the villians"?
Remember that in Japan, since the general population has black/dark hair, light hair is kind of seen as "different" or "rebelious."

Well I guess Raito could be seen as rebellious...
On the topic of L's clothes--I think he just doesn't care enough to dress nicely.

I see a lot of Japanese people dye their hair (I was looking up "Asian haircuts" and stumbled upon this Japanese website) a very light color. But, in a rebelious way? Tis obvious that Japanese people don't have naturally light hair. --- Sometimes I think Raito cares about what he wears (well, ladies man xp) but, I think there's a picture of him wearing Nike's or something... or at least it looked like Nike's.

XD I think L would invest most of his money and spend it on the latest technology, only buying clothes when he absolutely has to. XD Raito I see as being a sharp dresser. Heh.

Pimpin' Raito, anyone? xD
I was a little surprised to how wealthy L was... he has a chauffer (sp?) to drive him around!
But, then again... when someone gives him a case to solve, his prices aren't exactly cheap. >.>;;;

kithlyn Well I guess Raito could be seen as rebellious... On the topic of L's clothes--I think he just doesn't care enough to dress nicely. He doesn't even go out enough for him to care... He probably spends all of his money on televisions, hotel rooms, and sweets.
