I was reading my last few posts and I realised, "I sound very anti-Anita". And it made me think...
Are there any moments in any of the books that have just made you think, 'If I were reading this in another chars perspective, I'd have slapped Anita long before now.'? Or something similiar... ?
And I thought about that for all of a few moments and if I were Richard, and I were of a mind to be someone who could hit women, I woulda decked Anita long before now.
I understand that in her POV she's this gods gift to men but... she's not. honestly. lol

Hasn't everyone? I think that's sort of Anita's character flaw, ******** up her love life and always having to make things not perfect. It makes her not perfect. If her love life were perfect, she'd be boring. It's just that her character flaw isn't as easy to sympthasize with as other characters' flaws.
Not that that makes her any less frustrating, I mean. Sometimes when she's arguing with someone, I'm like "DAMN IT, SHUT UP!" Because really, giving someone a hard time is one thing, but she suffocates people with it and you end up going..."Um, shouldn't that argument have ended a page ago when Anita gave him that verbal bitchslap? Why didn't she end it then?"

Oh definately. I think that Anita is one of those characters that you either love or hate.
I think that there's at least one of those "Arrgh! Anita you dumbass!" moments in every book. Like in Blue Moon, when Anita kept ripping on Richard because he was getting involved with other women, even though she was with Jean-Claude. Or how she keeps bringing up the fiancee in college....I mean, it was a great idea, but after having her repeatedly mention it all the way up to Cerulean Sins....like Jason said, "Come on, aren't over that already? That was years ago."
But it's not something that's unique to Anita. All characters have moments like that. Although if the books were in Richard's POV, then we'd probably have more of those moments than we have for Anita. sweatdrop

One hard-core moment sticks out in my mind where I wanna just reach through the pages n strangle her and anyone who's read Cerulean Sin would probably agree with me. Asher and her in the beginning of the book made me ssooo pissed at what she did to him after agreeing and such... damn I wanted to slap her

Anita doesn't understand Richard and why Richard doesn't want her to sleep with all those other guys. Richard's a werewolf. He has the instincts of the wolf. Wolves mate for life! And they are very territorial of their mates. Anita doesn't get that. That's what would make me want to smack her...then again there are other instances but I can't recall at this point...
*needs the rest of the books and readingthem*

That puts a whole new spin on Richard's problems with Anita. But then again, if that was the case, don't you think that LKH would have mentioned that by now? I mean, Jason has probably been with tons of people, but he doesn't get territorial over them. (I know it's not exactly the greatest example, but there aren't too many lycanthropes that are hitched in the books...)

In ID, Jason gave Anita that lecture about how he would love to be in love & wants that kind of relationship. I think he sleeps around because he hasn't fallen in love, but once he does it will be for good in his mind. At least that is my opinion. The thing about Richard wanting to mate for life makes perfect sense. Especially because of the leader/lupa bond, not just that wolves mate for life, it is special for their specific coupling.

Her issue with Richard has to do with his issues with himself.

Personally, I want to hit Anita everytime she comes up with some reason not to want to just relax and enjoy the good parts of her life... All the hitches in her love life... gah! scream

Anita has done things that makes me want to slap her. Jean-Claude is beautiful, yes. But he's dead. He's dies in the morning and it's freaky. She got rid of Richard. And get's pissed at him for feeling the way he does. He deserves to. Nathaniel is six years younger. She'd do good to stay with one man, Micah in my opinion and get on with life. Drop the preternatural crap and live some life that she's not going to regret.

You might argue that she got rid of Richard and is doing fine, but that isn't true. LKH has made it a point to show that the triumvirate is irrevocable and they're interconnected for the rest of their lives. I agree that her relationship with Nathaniel is icky (no matter how much I heart Nathaniel, his relationship with her IS kinda wrong), but personal opinion makes me disagree with you about Micah. But what LKH is also trying to point out (at least, by the end of CS) is that Anita IS living the way she wants to. She's uncomfortable sometimes, but she is doing what she believes makes her and the people around her happiest.

What bugs me the most is that at times when she does things she always justifies them. We've read the other books, you did it deal with it, stop trying to make it look as if you're blameless. You might have morals but they were dragged through the dirt a while back. Quote: Sometimes when she's arguing with someone, I'm like "DAMN IT, SHUT UP!" Because really, giving someone a hard time is one thing, but she suffocates people with it and you end up going..."Um, shouldn't that argument have ended a page ago when Anita gave him that verbal bitchslap? Yes I do want to slap her tons of times.... Do you know what I would give be loved that much by even ONE person. She's lucky and yet she picks at people. As for the whole Nathaniel thing... I LOVE him but yes it IS weird. Thats like doing your little brother. eek ... HAHA! ewwies. We musn't forget the latest addition to her little harem. ASHER. I personally think Anita has no idea what she wants and when she does find something she finds a way to mess it all up! But I love her anyways! tee hee. <3
