A single parent? Well. This was a first. Julia was sitting with the Xxitti leaning over her shoulder, probably trying to read too. Putting the file down, she swatted at it. It had been following her around all day, and just did not seem to want to leave.
"Go, please GO. Here." She pulled something out of her desk, twizzlers. "There, take it and sciddadle!" the Xxitti grabbed at the licorice and quickly made an exit. Much like a dog guarding the biscuit it just recieved as a treat.
Sighing she quickly tidied up her desk. Miss Imbri (did any of these people have last names?) was on her way likely, and should be there any moment.
Best look presentable.

Imbri stepped up to the office, scowling. There was no reason she needed some psyciatrist or whatever it was, help. But she had somehow gotten an appointment and the little card said to be here at this time.
Sure, whatever.
She pressed at her short hair, making sure there were no strands out of place, then smoothed her dress and knocked on the door.

"Come in." Julia called calmly from her seat.
Turning her head a quick round about the room, she contented herself with the fact that the Xxitti was well gone off with it's... treasure.

Imbri pushed the door open slowly and peered in. The room was pristene. And, unlike Cray's office, this one didn't have strange jarred objects all over it.
"Good evening," she said politely, inclining her head slightly and shutting the door behind her.

"Good evening to you as well, Miss... Imbri. I'm afraid Cray didn't put your last name on the file..." she looked it over again. That wasn't really like him.
Standing up, she motioned with her hand towards one of the black leather chairs before her. The lights were dimmed slightly, Julia didn't like it being too bright, it was hard on her eyes after some time.
"My name is Doctor Julia Walts."

Imbri raised an eyebrow. Intresting.
"It's NightMare-Human," she said calmly. "But Imbri is fine." She walked over to the the chair and sat down. "How nice to meet you, Doctor Walts."
The red headed woman set her hands in her lap. "Now, why exactly am I here?" She asked curiously. "I don't recall making an appointment, and I personally don't feel I need it."

"Julia is fine." she took her seat once more.
"Cray must have set you up with an appointment. Upon registering with our clinic, there is a section which briefly details meeting with a person of my profession." she spoke casually, it was obvious Imbri meant to get down to business. Her bodylanguage told her that she was very in control of the things around her.
"We don't mean any insult with these appointments. Actually, I only meet briefly with you prior to the pregnancy. An informal meeting if you will." she paused, adjusting her glasses along the bridge of her nose.
"You see, my job is to handle any post-pregnancy details. Once the child is born, we meet every so often, at your behest, to give you a chance to take some of the stress of a new child off your shoulders. Here at our clinic we've found studies show, quite often, there is trauma left over in both the mother, and the child, that is often times overlooked as something insignificant, and can later on be more harmful than any good. We simply hope to help avoid any such cases and allow you and your child to have a healthy upbringing." Another pause.
"Of course, it's not necessary for you to come, and I wouldn't force it on you, but I would suggest taking advantage of it... after all, it doesn't cost anymore than just meeting with Cray... and I think it's a nice debriefing at times after being around him." she chuckled lightly.

"Mmhm, I see," Imbri said, starting to cross her legs, then realized blushing that she couldn't quite cross them.
"Why, exactly, would I need stress taken off my shoulders?" she asked cautiously. "It's not like I haven't raised children before." This place was getting weirder and weirder every day.

"Well, the information I have gathered led me to believe this is your first, blood related child." she looked over the folder quickly again.
"Adopting is a wonderful thing to do.. however having a child of your own is quite a bit different. Many mothers suffer things such as Postpartum depression. All it is is you come in and we talk a bit. I'm not here to prescribe medication, I'm not here to psychoanalyze who you are. I may be a licensed psychiatrist, but I'm also a very well practiced therapist." she smiled a bit.
"As I told you before, it's simply something we offer to try to make the process go a bit smoother, and to be certain that the child is healthy, not only physically when he or she is born, but also mentally and emotionally. It is an ongoing process that I do hope you'll consider."

Postpartum depression? She very much doubted anything like that could happen. But making sure her child was mentally healthy could be a good thing. Kida's biggest fear HAD been another bitter Imbri would be created.
"I suppose it couldn't hurt, at least for the time being." If it got too weird, she could always bail. She smirked. Yeah. That was a good idea.
"Well, what are you wanting to do today, then?"

"Today was just an informal meeting. I actually don't meet much with the parents prior to the pregnancy. Usually it's just Cray. Most of my meetings come afterwards. Basically, I explain what I just told you, and if you hadn't met Cray already, I would set you up with a form for a meeting time with him." she adjusted her glasses once more. There was a loose arm on the left side that was somewhat bothering her.
"Do you have any questions about any of this?"

Imbri shook her head. "No, nothing that I can think of."
She thought for a moment. "Well, actually. What sort of place is this? There don't seem to be many people here and the doctor seems a bit...strange."

"It's just a maternity clinic." Julia nodded slightly, pausing to come up with an appropriately worded answer.
"Yes, Cray does come off a bit strange. But children really seem to like him, I suppose that's part of the reason he's like that."
"Ah, it's usually pretty quiet here. Most people seem to go to larger clinics. We have a small, but very nice set of people who visit us regularly. However we try to book them as far between as we can, to make things a bit more personable during the visits. Although I'm sure you can meet some of the other parents in the general room sometime."

'Just' a maternity clinic?
Imbri wasn't quite sure she believed that, but she nodded and let it slide.
"I can see why children might like him," she said dryly, recalling the appointment with him. "Does he ever act completely professional?" It wasn't a huge concern with her, after all she had dealt with worse.
She suddered. Hoo...Loyal.
But when the time came...well, she didn't want any nonsense.
"Yes, I've met another already, Epee, i believe."

Inwardly, Julia was cursing herself for wording things as she had. She knew better than that. You never used the term 'just' that was for certain.
"Yes, when he's working on something important, his focus is entirely on that. He's very professional with his job, he's just very lighthearted and seems a bit off at times. I assure you that you'll meet no one with more skill than he in this area however."
"Epee?" she thought a moment, "I do believe I met with her my first meeting with you."
