ARRRRGH, Avast, ye scrvey soundrel!
Alright, just kidding..
Once upon a time...
...You are an adventurer.. A fairly new one, but an adventurer none the less. And others have seen your talents for what they truely are.
You are approached, individually, by a man of means. He wants you to undertake a quest for him. He introduces himself as Juan Pablo, the Marquess of Ardales. He is an older man, in his fourties, with obviously graying hair.
"It's a family heirloom, you see. It's a bit of a delicate situation. It was sold a few generations back to.. uh.. pay some debts. We've recently been able to repay everything we owed, but the current holder of the heirloom refuses to give it back.. I'd like you to retreive it for me.."
None of you know any of the others are looking for this artifact. He asked as many people as he could find to help ensure that his families prized possession was found..
What will you do when you find out there are others..? Are they competition..? Or are they a friendly helping hand in your perilous journey..?

What is 7th Sea..?It is a world of swashbuckling and civility, piracy and adventure, diplomacy and intrigue. It's a world of musketeers, buccaneers and privateers, ancient knowledge and lost civilizations, horrors that hide in the shadows and worse things that hide in plain sight. Whew, that's quite a mouthful.. Let's step back a bit and figure this out.. Swashbuckling and CivilityIt is a world where an order of musketeers guards the lives of the nobility, but also the virtues of honor, integrity, and -- above all else -- fraternity. It is a world of sharp blades and sharper wits, where a cutting retort can be just as deadly as a sword's point. The hard edge of steel coupled with the shadowy substance of courtisanship: that is your first step into the world of 7th Sea. Piracy and AdventurePerhaps more than anything else, 7th Sea is about exploring the unknown.. and making a healthy profit while you're at it! The waters of 7th Sea are populated with the robbers of the waves. The pirates of the 7th Sea are united by the common cause: freedom. Freedom from the tyranny of kings. Freedom from tthe shackles of the Church. Freedom from greedy land-owners and money lenders. Pirates sail where they want, take what they please and live a life of freedom unknown by any other man in the world of 7th Sea. With the decline of the Church, things have become even better for pirates as kings and queens hire daredevil adventurers to explore the unknwon and bring back the booty they discover. Of course, if those adventurers lower their guards for even a moment, they'll find themselves facing the black flag.. Diplomacy and IntrigueIn the world of 7th Sea, kingdoms are on the verge of becoming countries. A swelling tide of nationalism grows in the hearts of men and women, and a new kind of conflict -- covert warfare -- is finding its wat into the world. But in the courts of kings and queens, diplomats dressed in powdered wigs, lace and slik try to resolve the disputes of nations. Of course, if diplomacy dails, there is the cold steel of the dueling sword waiting under all that finery. A new kind of espionage is making its way into the world of men. Men and women trained in the arts of deception live perilous lives of illusion and artiface as they pillage enemy secrets with only their beauty, cunning and wits.. and a willingless to do anything for crown and country. And that, in a nutshell, is the world of 7th Sea. It is a great deal like our own, but at the same time, not at all like our own. Theah is a whole new world to explore. So get your digger coar on, strap on a sword or oil up that buckler! It's a brand new world out there, let's go do something about it! TheahTheah is the continent where all the action of 7th Sea takes place. If Theah looks a little familiar, it should. While she isn't Europe's twin sister, she is certainly a distant cousin. As you'll see from the nation's section, you'll find some distinct similarities, which should make Theah at least a little familiar and learning about her cultuer and history easier.. There are some important differences, however. The war of the CrossTheah has only just emerged from the thirty year long 'War of the Cross.' a struggle that involved nearly every world power. The majority of the war was fought within the boundries of a single nation -- Eisen. The war drove the Eisen Imperator to suicide and splintered the country into small kingdoms. Other nations, however, profited greatly from the conflict, a lesson the Eison will never forget. One poet wrote, "The War of the Cross will be the last religious wa Theah shall ever see." Many Theans pray that he's right. ~~~~~ 7th Sea is a game of imaginations, where you can be just about anyone you want. It has a very large influence of pirateering/privateering, but that doesn't mean that's what you have to be. One of the biggest difference between our own world and 7th Sea is its views on women. While, women are supposed to be the caretakers and at home, that isn't the way it always is in 7th Sea. You're just as likely as not to see a WOMAN pirate captain as a man. The women here are strong, and aren't afraid to point that out to you, with the end of a main guache no less. 7th Sea is about characters, diplomacy, extravagence, and if nothing else, dramaticism! Remember, this is a very dramatic time, play it up. Let your imaginationg run wild. The better you play the character, the happier I am ^_^.

The NationsAvalon - Real world counterpart, UKThree crowns united under one throne, the united kingdoms of Avalon are also known as the Glamour Isles. Queen Elaine rules over Avalon, James MacDuff II rules the flans of the Highland Marches and John O'Bannon rules the Inismore, the emerald isle. Only in the last decade have the Glamour Isles made an impact in world politics. A decade ago, their tiny navy defeated the Castillian armada, the largest naval force in Theah. They have broken away from the Vaticine Church and united their warring island kingdoms for the first time in history. It is an uncertain alliance, however, one that could fall into open warfaire at any moment. Avalon has no standing army, but it does have one of the most cunning fleets on the seas. Commanded by Captain Jeremiah Berek, the Sea Dogs have proven to be the terror of the Castillian and Montaigne navies. While Elaine officially denies sanctioning their actions, there is no doubt that Avalon's wealth has grown since they began their forays into piracy. Whenever the beautiful Queen of Avalon is asked about Berek's actions, she only smiles and shakes her head. "If he is ever brought before me," she once said, "I will make certain he gets exactly what he deserves." Castille - Real world counterpart, SpainThe Castillians are a passionate people, and their passion can be seen in their music, their food, and even their language. Of all the nations of Theah, their culture is the most diverse, having influences from all across the continent, even from the Middle East. However, the most important and potent influence in recent years has ben the Vaticine Church. Over four hundred years ago, in a bloody war, the capital of the Church moved from Vodacce to Castille, shifting the balance of power in Theah forever. Because of the Church, Castille has a university in ever city, making them the most educated nation in Theah. It also sponsors public health programs, aqueducts and medical centers, providing heath and medicine to anyone who is in need. However, trouble has befallen Castille. Just before his death, Castille's aging king exiled his eldest son in a fit of rage, leaving a beardless boy to inherit the throne. Needless to say, Good King Sandoval is no match for the cunning and wiles of Theah's more mature and experienced nobility, but he does have one ally: the man known only as "El Vago." This masked figure and his league of confederates have protected the king from treachery on too many occassions to enumerate. However, there are those in Castille who would like to see The Vagabond on the end of a rope, thus putting Good King Sandoval in their ambitious hands. Castille is also currently at war with Montaigne. Eisen - Real world counterpart, GermanyThe drachen, the most sacred creature of folklore and mythology, best represents the character of the Eisen soul. They are a people of indomitable will and incredible courage. They process a metal alloy known as dracheneisen ('dragon iron') that they use to creat armor that not even gunfire can penetrate. This, coupled with the best military schools in Theah, made the Eisen the greatest military force in the world. However, the Iron Princes have seen better times. They are at present little more than living testament to the cost of Theah's longest and bloodiest war. The nation of Eisen has fall into bickering baronies, all squabbling for the most precious peice of war-ravaged mud. Any other nation would surrender to the despair that surrounds them. But there is no word in the Eisen language for 'surrender.' Much of the nobility has left behind their blasted lands in search of foreign fortune, making Eisen's once great military into a mighty mercenary force. The richest of Eisen's river cities -- Freiburg -- has also turned mercenary, declaring to one and all that 'No Questions' shall be asked of any who enter. However, some of Eisen's nobility have not given up the dream of war, and deep within her borders, the Eisenfursten ('Iron Princes') are slowly rebuilding their strength. One day, when Eisend does look for a single leader, one of them will be there to take the mantle. Montaigne - Real world counterpart, FranceJust south of Avalon, just north of Castille, just west of Eisen -- at the center of the world -- is Montaigne, ruled by the Empereur of the West, Leon Alexandre du Montaigne, the most powerful monarch in Theah. Tall, beautiful and elegant, he is the heart of high culture -- just ask him. For every other civiluzed nation that cares, Montaigne defines fashion, civilization, music, art and enlightenment. The greatest courts are in Montaigne. The best food is in Montaigne. All of Theah's nobility wear clothing inspired by Montaigne patterns. They build palaces that mimic Montaigne architecture. Montaigne is a coutnry where the question "Why?" went out of style long ago, to be replaced with the answer "Becauase I want it." The Empereur's personal escort, le Garde de Solei, are among the finest fencers in Theah. Their reputation is legendary throughout the known world, and every swordsman dreams of one day being able to count himself among their numbers. THey are hand-selected to serve the Empereur and their duty is to protect him from all dangers, no matter the cost. With a man like l'Empereur, that duty has a high price. Montaigne is also excommunicated from the Church.. Yes. The ENTIRE country. Montaigne is also currently at war with Castille. Ussura - Real world counterpart, RussiaIn the frozen northwest is a land strange and foreign to the rest of Theah. Those who visit Ussura return to tell takes of a land five hundred years behind the times. Their soldiers still use axes and wooden sheilds, wear furs and skins, grow their beards to their knees and barter rather than use currency. While Ussura may still be living in the twelfth century, she is a land that looks out for her own. Invading armies have discovered that to be a literal truth. 'Grandmother Winter' seems very alive in Ussura, throwing snow and ice on those who have violated her borders, while her grandchildren remain safe from her cold clutches. It is almost as if the land itself were alive and aware, blessing her own and obliteration those who are not. The ruller of Ussura, Gaius Ilya, is a beautiful young man with a brutal and deadly temper. While the davice of the Knias Council of Boyars is supposed to guide the Gaius' decisions, Ilya has shown on many occasions his devout hatred of their kind. One boyar who defied his wishes was thrown to his own dogs while the Gaius watched, sipping vodka and making conversation with the doomed man's fellow members. Ussura is a land of brutal winters, savage justice and black humor. And the Ussurans wouldn't want it any other way. Vodacce - Real world counterpart, ItalyVodacce is a family at war. What began centuries ago as a quarrel between noble brothers has ended as a nation divided. The seven main isles of Vodacce are each controlled by a brance of that family. Each one competes fiercely with its siblings for trade, wealth, and reputation, and in Vodacce the end always justifies the means. Built along a network of canalways, the houses of Vodacce rise to the sky by standing one on top of another. Beneath the city runs the most extensive labyrinth of catacombs known anywhere in Theah. THe complexity of its architecture is mirrored by the hearts and minds of its citizens. If the eyes are the window to the soul, the eyes of the Vodacce are hooded and hidden behind elaborate lattices. Vodacce is like a land filled with black cats, an unlucky place to be unless all of the cats belong to you. Thean Map is a link to the map of Theah. There are some countries on the map not explained. That's because I do not have the information for those places. DO not ask to be from them, I will say no.

Once you have decided upon the country, the next step is beginning your character! You CANNOT be a king, queen, prince, princess, or anything of that sort. All of those characters are NPC's and will be played by me, thanks anyway. The only characters in this game will be human. No ghosts, no magic, no faeries, nothing supernatural or ethereal. Sailor's tales are just that.. Tales.. Only a fool believes in tales. If you choose to play a noble, bear in mind.. not all people view nobles as good, and not all nobles ARE good.. In fact, it's the opposite for most. And most nobles could care less about adventuring and the like. Try to make your character as well rounded and party-friendly as you can, as a coutesy to me, yon Storyteller.. RULES1. NO moding. I'M the storyteller, not you. 2. No pervyness. We may all be adults here, but still, this isn't a hentai chat room, it's for serious role play. 3. No killing off a character without that person's and either my or loren_windstar's permission. 4. Technology level: Medium. There are very simple guns, called arquebus, that shot a single shot and have to be loaded with gunpowder, the ball, and flint manually. It's 1668, people, think Earth years.. 5. Magic level: NONE. This is a STRICTLY human role play. It's meant to be historical, even if it isn't exactly the same as our plane of exhisitance. It's just normal people dealing with problems in normal human ways, no magic, no special characters, no telepathy, no ESP. 6. Don't auto. That's not your job. You know how to RP, please do it right. Supplimental Rules1. You can't play a king, a queen, a prince, a princess, an emporer, or the bloody pope. Those are NPC characters. Loren and I will deal with anything like that that comes up, don't take our joy away from us ;_; 2. You can play a person of nobel blood, but it comes with drawbacks. If you are an influential landowner, your land is going to go to hell in a handbasket if you aren;t there to oversea it. Bit of a discouragement to travel on adventures. And most people view nobles as bad, it's the way people think. If you play a nobel, do not expect me ot give you an easy ride. 3. You HAVE to put in your character description what languages you speak, and there has to be a normal reason why your character would speak them. I find it quite comical to make your character only speak his native tongue if you don't put it down. THough, I find it comical anyway to have a character only speak one language, especially if it's a language no one else speaks. Keep that in mind when you create your character. 4. If Loren or I say something, it goes. That's just it, no room for discussion. 5. Not really a rule, but feel free to use the flawlist to create your character. It lends to a more well-rounded person, as well as ensuring everyone has fun. 6. This is an RP. HAVE FUN! whee This is how your profile for your character should look. Please pm it to me, and if I find anything in question we can work it out. Athala also has a bad habit of over reacting when she so much as thinks she is being hit on. Her title comes from the silver stripe in her otherwise jet black hair. ((Might be bit late for this but might as well see if we can get this rp going.))
The Moonfox had curently docked at a smaller port for several reasions, a need to re suply was the main one, pluse the crew was starting to get a bit twichy so Athalia felt it would be best if they streached their legs for a few days, pluse it gave her time to re stock her suply of herbs or weeds as her crew teasingly called them, not to her face though since more then once Athalia had saved a crew memeber from what most would consider a faitel injory.
