Somewhere in the pridelands...
Was prey.
Somewhere near the prey..
Was Karama.
A wildabeast herd, how uneventfull. Her slender form was a mere shadow moving across the grass soundlessly(or at least compared to the noise they made walking around and 'mooing' ), she was able to get so close to them untill she sprang out, dashing between them and chasing a specific animal; this one had an injured leg, all she had to do was separate it. Now it was a group of five, and the injured one was falling behind.
And then it tripped, she jumped ontop, and killed it. End of story. She grinned at how easy the hunt had been, tail swishing to and fro as she grabbed the throat and started pulling it across the grass. There weren't many trees around, so she'd take it to a larger patch of grass to try and eat quickly, or at least enough in case something came to try and steal it.
Now, hidden in a thick patch of grass was Karama and her kill, the leopard eating the wildabeast in a hurry, ground wasen't a safe place to be.

Tatu was wandering again as usual, looking for something only he knew the nature of. It was always like this, walking, hunting and so on, but he wasn't bothered, it was the only way.
However, he wasn't adverse to stealing kills if the animal was smaller or weaker than him, he was a lion in his prime after all. It was for this reason that he paused in his tracks at the scent of blood on the air, a kill had apparently been made nearby. Licking his lips he set off at a run, not sure what to expect when he arrived.
What greeted him as he did however was nothing more than odd hints of fur in a patch of grass. The creature looked solitary, so he took a deep breath, and, mustering up the most intimidating roar he could, let loose. It came out not sounding as much like a lion roar as it should have, more leopard like than anything else.

Damnit, she haden't even handles a leg too well untill this /thing/ showed up. Well, she could try and scare it, if it advanced, she coulden't really do a thing. It sounded leopard, but the wind sure gave her an idea of lion, and a peek over the grasses allowed the size and mane tuft even more of a hint.
It was young, so she could give it a try. Her distraction didn't allow her to notice the scent was actually familiar.
With a growl rumbling through her throat, the leopardess left her pray where it was, moving to encounter the lion, peering through the grasses, spine fur prickled up. Fighting wasen't a good idea, wound on a leopard didn't mix well, they were quite vlnerable as it was compared to many other things.
The growl grew louder as she grew nearer, and then she could see it well through the grass, and she leapt out, face to face separated only by a few feet to the lion, teeth bared, head lowered to protect her throat unless it grew inpatient.
It was only a few moments later that she took realizations of his look, those same colors...
"Tatu? "
She stammered out in suprize, growl dying in an instant.

Tatu wasn't really expecting the leopard to stand up to him. In his experience most of the creatures he charged ran off. This was definately an unexpected turn and as Karama leapt out of the grass, he almost died a death, staggering backwards in surprise. Just as he was strongly considering fleeing, she spoke and made him freeze.
It only took a second for him to recognise that familiar face and let out a massive whoop, pouncing Karama like an over-enthusiastic cub.
"Mommy!" It was very much a nickname he himself had bestowed upon her.

Karama had no time to react when Tatu pounced her, and the little cub was no longer little, so she couldn't push him off anymore, and found herself pinned on her back. Still, she wasen't upset about this, she haden't sen the cub for long, she'd actually learned to miss him. But now, she could no longer call him a cub, anyways.
"Tatu! You grew! "
She said with a grin, purring with amusement. Before adding in a more sarcastic tone.
"Speaking of wich, you've gotten heavier, I may assume? "

Tatu was surprised by the relative ease that he toppled Karama with and was immediately apologetic, he'd forgotten how big he'd gotten lately. Still, he'd found her! Nothing could ruin his mood! He looked proud "Yep, I grew up big and strong like I said I would." truth be told, it had been hard work, but some of the more unusual skills such as climbing he'd learned had been very valuable indeed.
It took a moment for him to realise what the leopard meant with her last comment and grinned apologetically. "Oh! Right! Sorry!" he clambered off of her, his tail dancing merrily behind him "I was just so happy to see you, where've you been?!"

She grinned, and felt a little releived when the lion got off of her, she haden't ever really imagines him this big back when she met him. "I can see that! " she said with a grin, pulling up onto her haunches and shaking her fur a bit.
"I've been everywee, basically, its hard to stay still. But where have you been? I had been looking for you for a while, though you wer eprobably sitll a cub then. "
Odd as it may seem, she actually had been looking for him for a while, clearly recalling the small prey's she'd caught in case she found the cub. After a while, she sorta lost hope of finding him, she didn't think he would have survived long. Yet, here he was, wasen't he?

Tatu looked sad as he replied "I don't know what happened, I thought I'd go for a little walk and come back to get you afterwards, but I got totally lost again. I was really scared but somehow I pulled my way on, I figured I could eat little things like mice and big bugs and would sleep up trees at night. It took a long time to learn how to get back down properly though." he shook his head "It doesn't matter though, I'm just glad to see you again, without the little things you showed me I'd be long gone."
He had been one very lucky lion.
"Nowadays I follow the herds."

Ah, so he had taken a walk, an gotten lost. Cub sense of direction was so amusing. "Glad I could help, then. " She said with a nod, so she had helped him survive? How awkward.
"You follow the herds? Then you've been around alot too. How do you do when they go cross the rivers? "
She asked, easly recalling how many herbeast crossed rivers, and how many drowned or got eaten by crocodiles in the process. She grins, before recalling he had been trying to steal her prey before identifying her.
"If you were trying to steal, then your hungry. I can share again if you want? "

Tatu winced at the memory. "I um..had to follow them." those had been the hardest times of all, having to face the lion's instinctual terror of the water and latch onto struggling wildebeest in the hope he wouldn't drown. He had no other choice, if they got away, he was doomed to starve. "It wasn't fun at all, let me tell you."
He looked deeply grateful at the prospect of a meal, he really was hungry despite everything else. "Only if you can spare something."

She coulden't help but et out an amused purr, as a leopard, she was more used to swimming than many other felines. "I sohuld teach you how to swim sometime, then. " She purred, before getting up and pushing through the grass.
"Sense when an I eat a whole beast? I only caught one because their closer! Come on. "
She said with a grin as she returned to the area were she'd left the beast, apperently, it wasen't smelling enough for the vultures to show yet. "Hurry, before those birds show up. "
