About Youko

User Image
  • Name: Youkochylde Gingitsune
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 31 (Dammit >_<)
  • Height: 5'4
  • Weight: 140
  • Eyes: Gold
  • Hair: Silver
  • Species: Demon Fox (youko)
  • Marital Status: Lifemated to Envy Fairchylde
  • Special Abilities: Teleportation (Line of sight), Shapeshifting (Fox form), rational thinking, mediation. Has a temper, once riled up.
  • Likes: Wiggling his toes in the grass, being outside, summer breezes, wearing very little, iced tea and wireless computers.
  • Dislikes: Stupid people, humid muggy weather, closed-minded people, bees, wintertime, rabbits.

Youko's beginnings and youth are pretty much up in the air. What that means is that he doesn't remember them, either. When Youko first came to Gaia, it was with a chip on his shoulder and an innate distrust of everything and everyone. No one's quite sure WHY he was that way, and he's not talking.

It took a rather quiet and caring soul... Envy Fairchylde, to get through the fox's shell, finally coaxing him out and began to teach him how to be relatively human. After he started letting others near, he met Karma and the others who quickly became friends. This was when Youko's protective streak showed through, and it became apparent that he wouldn't stand for his friends being stepped on.

Teenager to Adult growth quests involve receiving a letter from the heavens stating that they now have a chance to redeem themselves and ascend to the heavens once more. The letter is given by a ghost of their formal selves. The actual quest is usually a test of some sort to see if they are ready to ascend. Generally, they are given a chance with their main ability returned at full form and are given a rather difficult task to perform.

Growth from Teenager to Adult is not- really chosen by you, unfortunately. Once 3 of the 5 months required of being a teenager is completed, you can put in a request for the quest. It may or may not be accepted. When it is, over the next two months after you submit it you may find an RP post in your journal of the ghost coming to your angel. They will present them with a quest that they may or may not be able to complete.

You have three tries for your child to complete the quest. This is based on a dice system which will be revealed at a later date.

If they complete their quest, they can choose to return to heaven as an adult angel and be given a chance to act as a guide to a new spirit or to remain on earth and have a family of their own.

Belial & Belias' Finding

"Do this, Medium, do THAT, Medium, do I ever get a break?" the woman muttered, staring at the pearly white naga eggs wrapped in velvet cloth. It'd be warm enough for them, and safe enough so they wouldn't crack.

She had sent out a psychic call and the only two who would hear it...Would be the ones meant to take these two special children. She had absolutely no idea who it was, but it was vital that they came soon. Unlike the crystals, these two would take more life essence at a faster rate.

Right now, they had no life essence. Hopefully...The call would be heard. And soon. The small cottage on Barton Cliffs was far away enough not to draw attention to anyone but Spirit Keepers.

And Medium enjoyed that.

What seemed like forever passed, but in all actuality, it had likely been only about a half an hour or so. Youko had been perfectly content, curled up and reading a book while watching his teenage daughter play with the newest addition to their household. The infant Shavri was a joy to be around, and he'd quickly found his worries about her dwindling as the days passed.

He'd assumed that the day would pass much like that. Quiet... uninterrupted. Then he suddenly felt a nagging urge to get up and GO. Where? He didn't quite know yet. "Raven," he murmured, putting the book aside and getting up. "I'll be back." He moved to the door then, sliding on his shoes as his daughter looked on in confusion.

"Where are you going?" she asked, scooping up Shavri and balancing the baby on her hip. It wasn't like him to just up and leave with no reason.

He paused then, looking to her in his own brand of confusion. "I don't know," he answered, shrugging faintly. "But I'll know when I get there."

With that, and without any further explanation, he was gone. By the time he'd driven around a while, he'd found himself drawn to the area of the Barton Cliffs, and stopped his car outside a ramshackle little house that looked as though it had seen better days.

Reaching the door, he paused, one hand raised as if to knock. What the hell was he going to say?? 'Gee, I felt the urge to come here, who are you?'

The feline girl had been playing with the frost fae in her igloo of a house when she felt the need to go herself. She didn't know where or why, but the young woman...Just had to go.

Picking up Eirwen, the feline left their freezing house. The weather was actually nice and warm, for once, which pleased Kyrianna greatly.

Flicking her white tail, Kyr got into her car and after settling Eirwen into a baby car seat, drove. And drove. And drove. Where the hell was she going?

Finally the young girl, dressed in her baggy black pants, complete with chains, belly shirt, and trench coat (Some role model), stepped from the car and over to the house right about the same time Youko got there.

"Hi," she said lamely, looking at him and then to the house, "This your place?"

Eirwen, happily chewing on her mother's hair, smiled shyly at the kitsune and waved her little hands, "Abuuugah!"

"...That's baby speak for Hi, apparently."

"Not mine," Youko said, shrugging faintly and smiling to the infant. He liked kids. One finger wiggled at Eirwen as he explained. "I was just driving around and wound up here... it was wierd, like my head knew where I was going and just didn't clue me in." He paused then, looking to the feline woman and bowing politely. "My name's Youko. Do you know who lives here?"

Stupid question, foxface. His mind readily supplied THAT answer before the question even left his mouth. If she knew, she wouldn't have assumed it was HIS shack, now would she?

"Same, we may as well knock and figure it out, hmm?" she answered, staring at the door, "Damn, this place is a dump..."

Her ears twitched irritably, as did her tail, as she took in the details of the run down cottage. The only thing that seemed remotely new was the shutter paint, "And I'm Kyrianna..Uh..Kyr, to most people..."

She lifted her hand, took the plunge, and knocked.

Eirwen babbled happily, then, and reached out for the kitsune. She wanted the fluff thing! Her mommy was a fluff thing, but...Not the same!

Hearing the knock, Medium raised her head and shook it. It took them long enough. Grumbling yet again, the imposing woman went over to the door and opened it. Behind her, it was pitch black.

All she wore were her ceremonial robes, white, with golden trim up the bottom and around the edges. Her long hair caressed her dark flesh, eyes a black void, stared at them, "Took you long enough."

Her voice was emotionless, as was her face. Spooky. Monotonous...

"Holy s**t, it's Morticia..." Youko's ears pinned back onto his skull as he stared at the woman in a mix of unashamed fascination... and abject horror. THIS was why he'd come here? He and his brain had to have a serious talk when this was over with. And this was the LAST time he went out driving on a lark.

As if his brain finally caught up with his mouth, he shut up almost as soon as he'd let the comment slip, and tried to think of some way to either take that back... or smooth it over. Then the rational side of his mind realised that she'd likely heard it all before.

Kyrianna stared at the woman who came to the door, though tried to stop herself from cracking up laughing at Youko's comment. She didn't remind her of Morticia in the least bit - but that was because...Wasn't she pale and have black hair? Complete opposite. Maybe her twin...

And Eirwen? Eirwen started to BAWL. That thing was SCARY! And....were her feathers falling out?

"Shh, Winny..." Kyri snapped out of it, rocking the child soothingly, "We just felt the need to come here. Is there a reason?"

Blunt and to the point.

"Oh, apologize to the brat."

Not in the least bit amused at being compared to someone she'd never even heard of, Medi simply turned and walked inside, "Come."

The dark lightened ever so slightly, just enough to be able to see the general disarray the main room was in. Even the coffee table was covered with rings.

...And she hadn't expected one of them to have a damn baby. Who was crying, nonetheless.

When the two came inside, Medi turned herself around and stared, "You're here, because you were chosen to be Spirit Keepers of two naga Iridae."

If Thing closed the door behind them, Youko was convinced that he would scream like a little girl and run away. This had to be the most surreal day of his life, and...

"Naga?" That stopped him cold. "I'm the what to a who?" He was confused... VERY confused. But then again, something had drawn him to Shavri's wand too, so he couldn't quite refute the fact that sometimes you were required to do things.

But now, apparently, he was not only getting another 'ward', but one that was half snake as well. Raven was going to KILL him.

"Oh god, another KID?" Kyrianna complained, shifting the now pacified Eirwen in her arms. And despite the door slamming shut behind her, she really didn't seem too too creeped out.

"That thing better open up for me when it's time to leave. Now, tell me about the brat that I'm supposed to take? And uh...What did you call me?"

Giving a soft sigh, and not caring what the woman thought, Kyri sank into the nearby couch.

"We're an Iridae. That's our species..." the young looking woman turned her hollow eyes between the two, "Fallen angels. Thought these two are special. They weren't fallen, they never made the mistake that causes the rest of us to fall..."

She paused a moment and touched the eggs. They needed to be held by them, and fast, "Please, take an egg. They're losing heat, and they need your essence....Now, normally, Spirit Keepers find a crystal that contain an Iridae's spirit essence. They then crack and the essence gets ready to form an infant. It takes a bit over a week, closer to two. With these...It should really only take a few days until they hatch into infants. Nagas."

She handed an egg to each, "Yours," she indicated to Youko, "Is the Guardian of Healing. Yours," she pointed to Kyr, "of Poison. They are twin brothers."

"Twins?" Youko was certain that he WOULD actually get to the point where he wasn't just repeating everything in question form. However, this wasn't the time. He glanced to Kyrianna then, lifting a brow. "I... guess we're going to have to get to know each other then," he said, smiling a bit sheepishly as he let the leather-like egg settle into his hands. It warmed up quickly, and he took great care to not jar it too much.

It would have made more sense for the twins to be in the same house... or the same caretaker. But something told the fox that it just wasn't that simple. So in order to keep the two brothers 'together', he would just have to try and strike up a friendship with the cat lady.

"Mmph. At least I'm not taking both of them...Wait.. Why AREN'T one of us getting both of them?"

She took the egg and set Eirwen down on the couch. The moment she was free, the frost fae wiggled her wings and crawled herself over to the fluff thing! FLUFF THING!

Kyr half smiled and stroked the egg, "I guess we will. Eirwen already seems sort of determined to make your her next chew toy..."

The Medium raised a brow. Was this thing a parrot? "Yes. Twins. Am I suttering, mortal?"

Her voice sounded, for once, amused despite the monotony. If that was even possible. At least, she gave the impression of amusement, "And there are reasons that not even I know. All I know is...You're each a spirit keeper to each of the eggs. Keep it close to you - it is eating your life force. It needs to to be born. Keep it close to you, always touching you."

Snorting softly, Youko didn't even bother telling her that he wasn't completely mortal, like she apparently assumed he was. That would likely prove fortunate in this case. Granted, he WOULD die... eventually. But if the egg needed some of his life, so be it. "Well, that explains why they didn't both come to one of us," he said, glancing to Eirwen and smiling faintly as he flicked his tail back and forth for her. "It would likely have killed you. As for the chewing, it's no worry. My daughter was a gnawer from day one."

"Mmph. Eating life. Lovely. Will it hurt me?"

Kyrianna smiled a little as she watched her daughter...who immediately grabbed the tail and shoved it in her mouth. She was teething, and decided that fluffball looked good.

"She usually screams if she's not in an igloo-type weather."

Which was probably why she was so comfortable in the cottage. It was cold. Very cold.

"No, it won't hurt you. Even having twins, like...Two of the Spirit Keepers have...Doesn't hurt you. It bonds you to them. So long as you're alive, they're alive. And if they some how die...You lose a part of yourself..." she paused and stared hard at them, "They. Can. Not. Die."

Narrowing his eyes at the photo negative of the Addams Family matriarch, Youko muttered softly. "I haven't lost a kid yet, lady, and I won't start with this one." He'd raised a pair of halfbreed twins, a FROG, a... whatever Omi was, and now a little girl that had sprouted from a wand. All in all, an egg was looking pretty damned normal.

If he minded Eirwen gumming his tail, he didn't show it. After all, he'd had worse things than baby spit in his fur over the years. The tail twitched in her grasp, becoming a moving target for the moment.

Kyri just sat back and watched as Eirwen attacked the fox's tail, her little hands tugging and pulling, and her little girl laughter filling the otherwise gloomy household.

"She certainly likes you. She's a pretty decent judge of character. I guess if she likes you, we can get along."

"The boys are just very important, and I wanted to let you know. But if that's all, and you have no more questions...You can go. I have nothing more I need to say. Just keep those eggs safe."

Her wings fluttered slightly, the feathers floating down to pool at her feet.

Youko just shook his head faintly, extracting his tail from Eirwen for the moment. It sounded like a plan to him... he had only been here a short time and had determined that he hated this place already. "Want to go grab a bite to eat and we can talk?" Youko asked, turning to Kyrianna and offering her a hand up. It would give them the chance to get to know each other... he could spend a bit more time with the little one that was again trying to latch onto his tail... and they could discuss the eggs.

Giving a small nod of her head, Kyr took the hand and lifted herself up with his help, "That sounds nice," she answered, picking up her slobber machine and holding her onto her hip while clutching the egg carefully with her free hand. This was going to be hard...

"Any idea how to balance a baby and an egg at the same time? I'm still not used to this parenting thing..." she smiled weakly as she looked at the frost fae in her arms.

"I'm not mom material..."

Youko waited until they were outside before coughing softly. "At the risk of sounding crude? Stick it in your bra." He pointed to his own chest, right at the centre. "Right about there. It'll keep it warm and you won't have to hold it. Just make sure the little one doesn't squish it." His own egg was tucked into the front pocket of the sleeveless shirt he wore, the pocket being near his waist with an opening at either side. Both hands were in the pocket as well, making sure the precious cargo didn't decide to go on walkabout.

"And I don't think anyone's really ready to be a parent." He chuckled then, ruffling Eirwen's hair lightly. "I'll meet you at the cafe in Durem."

Taking his advice, the egg found a place in her bra and Eirwen was shifted to a better position and she sent a small smile towards him, "Mmhm, sounds good to me," she answered, going towards her car to settle her daughter in her car seat.

Maybe she could pry some parental advice from the fox.

Journal Post

Dear Diary -

Strange things seem to happen to me at the oddest times. This time... it's an egg. And not just any egg. It's apparently a NAGA egg, that I've got to keep safe. Its twin is in the care of a feline woman I met named Kyrianna, and we've supposedly bene 'chosen' by higher powers or what have you, to care for these twins.

I have a kid-magnet on my tail, don't I? Something. Gotta be.

Well, I was afraid of empty next syndrome. Now with this little one and Shavri, I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Private RP

It didn't take long to reach the cafe, Youko pulling into a parking space and getting out of the car to wait as Kyrianna found a spot as well. His hands were still shoved into his shirt pocket, wrapped carefully around the egg to keep it from getting jostled too much. How on earth was he supposed to care for an egg?

What did nagas eat?

He knew what SNAKES ate, but that was a whole different story...

Grumbling softly to herself, Kyr put her car into park and manuevered a slightly crankly Eirwen out of the car. Even with the AC blasting, the frost fae obviously upset about being ripped away from the new fluff thing.

"Winny, stop fussing..." Kyr tried to calm the fae down as she looked around for Youko. He wasn't too hard to spot, and the feline girl made her way over to him. The child immediately stopped her fussing and reached out.

"Foof!"

"Uh huh...Foof," Kyri responded, sitting herself down. She was careful of the egg, and set Eirwen on the table, supporting her so she didn't fall, "Hello again."

"Why hello there," Youko chuckled, moving to pick up Eirwen and set her next to him. His tail was there... and would likely keep her occupied for a while. Here's hoping the woman didn't think he was a psychopath or something.

"So... Kyrianna, you said your name was?" Youko fidgeted for a moment, one hand resting on the egg. "How did you happen to be there? I swear I'd never been there before, but somehow, I HAD to go there. Was it the same for you?"

"Yeah, it was the same for me," Kyr confirmed, her bright blue eyes watching her daughter instantly attack the fox's tail, "And then when I pulled up I wondered what the hell I'd been smoking to even want to go there."

Eirwen perked at her mommy's words, "Aboosh!" she responded, wanting to feel important and have input in the conversation, even if she couldn't quite form the words with her small motor skills.

The feline smiled slightly, "Aboosh to you too, darling."

"Yeah, that's how it was..." Youko's ears were fallen back slightly, and once the waitress brought their drinks, he just poked at his iced tea with the straw.
"And now I've got an egg. My daughter's going to shoot me." He snickered then, glancing to Kyrianna. "We just got a new baby in the house... she was joking that I'd wind up with Empty Nest Syndrome after she and Omi left. Guess there's no fear of that now."

It was obvious from how he spoke that Youko loved his children. Even with the two little ones around, it was going to be lonely without the foxcoon's presence underfoot.

"How many children do you have?" she asked, taking her cup of hot chocolate readily. She didn't touch coffee and she was feeling the need to drown something in chocolate.

She was doing her best to be pleasant - mostly because Eirwen seemed to adore him. Partly because they were in this together, and he didn't seem to be a douche. That helped.

Eirwen looked to Youko and stuffed his tail in her mouth, "Foof!"

"All total?" Youko seemed to think for a moment. This'll be number six. Two are mine biologically, the other four are adopted, so to speak." Or as much as anything ever got adopted in Gaia. Usually it was a matter of 'SURPRISE!! KID!'

He turned to Eirwen then, snickering softly and letting the tip of his tail tap back and forth against her nose. "And right there is where all of them wind up at some point. Chewing on the tail."

A sip was taken as she watched her daughter interact with Youko, hiding a smile behind the cup. She wasn't one to give smiles readily, nor was she one to make friends easily. But it seemed that the two of them at least had the love of kids in common.

Even if she didn't think she was meant to be a mother.

"She certainly adores you. I think it's because you're fluffy. My tail's neat and smooth..." she flicked her tiger tail and let it fall onto the table. Eirwen ignored it, "Case and Point."

"I think it's something to do with the floof," Youko said, smirking openly as the tail unleashed an attack of 'fapfapfapfapfap' against the girl's cheeks. It was only light enough to tickle, and it was something that his own kids just loved.

"There's a little kitsune boy I know who just ADORES playing with my tail or wrapping up in it... or just snuggling." He flushed faintly then, shrugging. "We're an affectionate species, I guess."

He glanced to Kyrianna then, tilting his head to the side. "What about you? Is Eirwen your only one?"

"I had a little girl named Eires, but she...disappeared," her eyebrows furrowed, "She was a little fairy born from a crystal. I'm assuming she just went back to her realm, since Arta left too..."

She shrugged then and set her cup of cocoa down, "I'm not meant to be a mother. Why on earth they chose me, I don't know. But I'm not one to shrink from responsibility."

Eirwen let out a joyous giggle, her little hands patting at the fluffy thing. He was fun!

Snorting softly, Youko picked up his glass, drinking from it. "NO ONE is ever ready to be a parent. Hells know I wasn't when the twins were born." He set the egg on the table then, staring at it. "I just hope these little guys aren't as bad with each other as Raven and Kendall were. We had to seperate them as kids, my son living with his mother and my daughter living with me."

"Eh, they're already seperated, so it shouldn't really be a problem?" she offered, removing her own egg from her bra and allowing it to sit on the table, "But hopefully they'll be close. Sleep overs, all that good stuff..."

Eirwen looked at the eggs and poked at them cautiously, "Boogah?"

"And it's not that I wasn't ready. I love kids. I just make a horrible mom," she grinned.

"Eggs," Youko replied to Eirwen, pointing to the eggs. "And we have to take care of them. You're going to help your mommy, right?" He ruffled the girl's hair then, smiling softly.

"Yeah... I'll be more than happy to have him over if you'll do the same once in a while too? I think we'll both need the break occasionally."

"Definitely," Kyr agreed, stroking at her daughter's hair gently before taking yet another sip of her hot chocolate, "Though I'm pretty sure that Eirwen will be wanting to go with him at some point. Maybe she could play with one of your daughters or something."

Eirwen's little wings fluttered and she beamed, "Foof foof fooooof!" They were talking about her! That made her happy!

"Well, my older ones are leaving... but Shavri's still a baby, and maybe they could be friends?" Youko chuckled, watching the little girl bounce. Man, what he wouldn't give to have that kind of energy again...

"I can't stay too long today, I'm afraid," he said. "When I left, I'm pretty sure I scared the hell out of my oldest when I left, because I didn't know why I was going or where."

"All right," she answered, finishing the last bit of hot chocolate, which had cooled by then. A small smile touched her lips, one of those rare genuine ones, "It was nice meeting you," she said, actually meaning it. He was a decent guy.

"We should exchange numbers, right? I mean...Yeah. I'm not used to this."

Obviously.

Eirwen seemed to realize that her mom was talking about leaving, and whimpered, "Floofoo!!!"

"Oh yeah..." it was apparent that HE wasn't used to it either. Fishing around in his wallet, he pulled out an old business card from somewhere and scrawled his home and cel numbers on it, as well as a third. "That one's my daughter's. If you can't get hold of me on the other two, call her and she'll b***h at me when she sees me next."

He slid the paper over then, and gave Eirwen a hug. "And YOU... have to come visit sometime. Shavri will love you."

Kyr took the card and reached for her purse, digging out a pen and a sheet of half used paper, she scribbled her phone number and address onto it before pushing it over Youko's way.

"Will do. I'm almost always home, and if not, that's my work number below the address."

Eirwen nuzzled happily into Youko, though sent a pout over at her mom. Why couldn't she go home with HIM?

"Sounds good." He pocketed the paper and detangled himself from the infant, handing her back to Kyri. "And I'll see YOU later, little one," he said, ruffling Eirwen's hair. "Take care, you two, I'll give you a call once something happens with the egg."

Kyrianna took her daughter and secured her on her hip, the egg being placed in her bra once more, "I'll do the same. It was nice meeting you, Youko, even if it was under incredibly odd circumstances."

Eirwen snuggled into her mommy, pouting slightly. The floofy thing was going bye bye? But...Meh. She'd see him again cuz of the eggs, right?! Right. Justifying it to herself, Eirwen refrained from throwing a fit.

With that, Kyrianna turned and headed for her car - both children secured.

Solo RP - Growing

It had been an interesting few days, to say the least. Youko had all but forgotten the creepy-a** woman (with a bit of help from a good friend, Jack Daniels that first night) and had slowly but surely gotten used to carrying the egg around with him all the time. Of course, his ONE shirt with the front pouch-pocket was getting washed every day because it was the only one that worked for the job, but that was okay too. It meant that the egg was close to him at all times, it was warm, and it was safe.

"So... when's this thing supposed to hatch?" Raven asked, picking up the egg and turning it over to look at it thoroughly. "It doesn't even look like a normal egg."

"That's because it's a snake egg, dear," Youko replied, thumbing through a magazine as Shavri played near his feet with a scattering of oversized Legos. "They don't look like the kind you cook up for breakfast."

"It doesn't FEEL like a normal egg either."

"Its a SNAKE egg," he repeated, looking to Raven with one brow raised. "That means it's different. They feel kinda like leather."

Snorting softly, a gesture she'd inherited from her father, Raven set the egg in Youko's lap again and got to her feet. "You're wierd, and you keep bringing more wierd s**t home with you."

"Well, I couldn't exactly leave you in the hospital, the nurses would have called animal control."

That earned him a throwpillow bouncing off his head as the fox snickered to himself and watched his daughter stalk off, muttering about emancipation. It was so easy to get a rise out of her at times.

He felt a tug at his pants then and watched Shavri try to leverage herself up onto her feet to see the egg better. "What're you doing sweetie?" he asked, not really expecting an answer. All the girl was really capable of was babbled baby talk, and that was pretty much all ANYONE heard on a regular basis around the house now. No one could say that Shavri was mute, that much was certain. "It's an egg, see?" he asked, holding it up...

And that's when he noticed the surface of the egg moving, as if something was trying to slice its way out. "Oh gods, it's hatching," he murmured, darting to his feet and moving to grab a towel from the bathroom. It was a good thing he was used to children being underfoot, because he neatly sidestepped Shavri both on the way to the bathroom, and on the way back. Laying the towel on the couch, he set the egg on it and watched it closely. Shari's eyes peered over the edge of the couch cushion too, and she was watching it raptly.

"That's going to be your little brother," he whispered, ruffling Shavri's hair lightly.

"Ba?"

"Yes, brother." Youko saw the skin of the egg split then and what appeared to be a hand poke out, waving around. It was covered in goo at the moment and he resisted the urge to just open the egg the rest of the way. Best to let the little one get out on his own after all.

It didn't take long... a few squirms later and a dark green naga with extremely dark red hair spilled out onto the towel with a cry. Youko moved to scoop him up, using the towel to wipe him off as best he could.

Gods, but he was TINY compared to the rest of his kids.

"Belias," he whispered, remembering the name he'd been told. "Welcome to the world..."

It was the same thing he said to all of his kids when they were born, and Shavri seemed to remember as her eyes lit up and she clapped her hands loudly. The sound startled the baby naga and he let out a wail that had its own unique volume. Not as piercing as Shavri's... but there would be no mistaking when he wanted something.

"What the hell's the noise?" Raven asked, appearing in the livingroom again and staring at the ball of Naga that was trying to curl up in Youko's arms. "Oh, he's so SWEET..." she said, immediately scooping him up and cradling him.

Youko just smiled, watching her and tilting his head a bit to the side. "I'll remember that when you swear you hate snakes."

Trio knocked lightly on the door, toying with the locket around her neck. She'd just come from the doctor's office, getting final verification for what they already knew, and finding herself in a very familiar neighborhood, she'd decided to stop by. The smile on her face was a little goofy and a little intimidated, but definitely happy.

For a change, it was Youko that answered the door, instead of the brood... and he carried what appeared to be a... snake? It was curled up around his arm, but a very human head rested in the crook of his elbow, a pair of bright eyes staring at Trio in awe. "Trio!" he exclaimed, not expecting to see her today. He grinned, moving his free arm to embrace her gently. "This is a surprise... come in! Mind the mess..."

"I was in the neighborhood and couldn't resist," Trio said, blinking at the creature. "That... looks rather like one of the little girls Annora met once. What is it?"

"He's a naga," Youko tried to explain, looking down at the clinging little boy. "He's... a bit of a long story. Kinda like Shavri, I wasn't expecting him. Raven swears I'll never have empty nest syndrome with how I drag in strays." He grinned then, motioning her to the livingroom where Shavri was passed out in a sprawl on the carpet, half drooling.

"Sounds familiar," Trio murmured, grinning and moving to sit down. "How are the other kids taking them?"

"Pretty well so far," he said, curling up into the couch. "They're all gone today except the little ones. Raven's at work, Omi's off doing gods knows what she does out in the woods, and Kaeru's at the beach. What brings you to this neighborhood?"

Trio grinned quietly, reaching to touch the naga's arm. "I was at the doctor's, actually," she said, something impish in her gaze.

Youko missed the 'impish' aspect and looked to Trio immediately in concern. "Are you alright?" he asked, blinking. "The kids?"

Trio blinked, and bit her lip to forestall the grin from being COMPLETELY obvious. "Oh, no. It was a visit for me. I... noticed some odd things recently." Her poker face, however, could definitely use work.

The fox's eyes narrowed and a slow smirk began to cross his face. "Like whaaaat?" he asked, poking at her with the tip of his tail.

She laughed at that, giving up on the pretense. "I've been... late recently." She explained, her hand moving to her stomach again.

Blinking, Youko stared at her for a moment, then let out a whoop as he moved to hug her tightly. "Trio, that's fantastic!!" he said, grinning from ear to pointed ear. "And rather unexpected... I thought you couldn't have kids?"

"I couldn't," she said, hugging him back before curling up again. "I can't. Well, I mean, normally."

"So what happened?" he asked, one ear dropping for a second. "Besides the obvious. It's apparent that you and Shiro took FULL advantage of wedding night."

Trio blushed, sticking her tongue out at him before giggling. "Az happened. It... he apparently did this for a wedding gift."

Snickering faintly, Youko just watched her, amused. "What a wedding gift, eh?"

"Uh... yeah," she muttered, wrapping her arms around herself. "It's still kinda hard to believe, you know?"

Nodding, Youko smiled, letting Belias drape across his lap. The boy's tail still wound around his wrist like a safety blanket, his head tilted back so that he could stare at Trio intently. "I know how it is," he said, smirking. "I had much the same reaction when Karma told me she was pregnant."

Trio snickered, reaching out to wave at Belias. "You can probably imagine how Shiro feels," she said, then paused, a bemused look on her face. "Or... maybe not."

"Yeah, I don't think you threatened to kill him, or both have to explain to irate lovers why you're having a kid with someone else."

"There is that," she nodded, laughing. "For one, I'm looking forward to sharing the news with Envy. And don't you DARE tell him before I do!," she added, shaking her head. "I wanna see his face!"

"I won't say a word," the fox promised, also looking forward to it. "Take a camera with you, because I want to see it too." He grinned then, handing Belias over and resting him in Trio's lap. The boy blinked up at the 'new person' for a moment, then moved to curl up and rest his cheek against her stomach, as if listening.

Nodding, Youko smiled and leaned back in the couch. "He is. But QUIET... sometimes I have to check on him just to make sure he's okay."

"Must be a nice change, after Kaeru," Trio teased, contentedly. "You seem happy."

"I am," Youko said, smiling faintly and looking down at Shavri as she twitched in her sleep. "It's nice to have little ones around again."

Belias was ignoring the conversation for the most part, the boy tilting his head slightly as one hand patted against Trio's belly.

"It's almost like he knows something's in there," Trio murmured, looking up to Youko. "Oh! You should see how Annora's grown! She and Etain both... I stepped back and really looked at them the other day and it was such a shock!"

"I'll have to come over and see them," he said, grinning. He'd had a soft spot for the little siren since day one. He paused then and looked at Belias, watching the boy curiously. "Well... the Medium said that he was the guardian of Healing... maybe he DOES know something's in there."

"What do you think little boy?" Trio asked, leaning a little over to him. "Something in there?"

Belias looked up at Trio, blinking for a moment as if to say 'huh?', then went back to his intense scrutiny of her navel.

Snickering, Youko watched the boy wrap himself around Trio's wrist, much as he'd done to Youko as well. "He likes you..." he murmured, smiling.

"Does he?" Trio asked, preening a little. "I like him, too. Maybe he can come over and play with Bran sometime..."

"Bran..." Youko paused, frowning for a sec as he tried to think. "Which one's Bran?"

She blinked, then blushed, looking up and holding up her cracked necklace. "...Uh... this will be," she said, a little embarrassed.

Youko looked at the necklace, smiling faintly. "You seem to attract strays too, then," he laughed. "Any idea what this one's going to be?"

"...According to the Medium... he's the guardian of Hope," she said wryly, petting Belias' back again.

Blinking, Youko stared at the necklace. "Medium... you got that from the same place I got Belias' egg??"

"Unless you found his egg in the sand at the beach, no," she shook her head. "But... if you're talking about a really creepy lady with an icebox for a house... I think they just may be the same."

Shivering, Youko wrapped his tail around himself. "Looks like the photo negative of Morticia Addams? Yep, that's her."

Trio considered for a moment, shivering herself before abandoning pretense. She gathered Belias up safely against her, and shifted on the couch until she was tucked against Youko. "Obviously, you think she's about as creepy as I do."

"She IS... gods, I wanted to get out of that house. It was wierd, like I suddenly NEEDED to drive over there. I didn't even know where there was until I got there."

Trio nodded, cuddling Belias. "That's it exactly. No idea where I was going. I just knew there was something I needed there. And then I had to go BACK when the damn thing cracked. I was afraid I'd done something bad to it."

"I didn't have the necklace thing," Youko said, peering at the crystal intently. "She just gave me and this other woman a pair of eggs... said they were twins, that they needed us to live and that we have to keep them safe."

Trio blinked, tilting her head. "Odd... Vin and I both ended up with necklaces. I met him when I went back to find out if he was okay," she added, drifting a finger through the mist.

"Nope, just an egg," Youko said, smiling as he watched Belias 'pet' Trio's stomach. "And he hatched within a couple of days. I can only assume that his twin did as well... I need to call his brother's guardian and find out."

"Apparently, Bran's been gathering up my life force to use. I think he's almost ready to... um... arrive?" Trio suggested quietly.

"Well, here's hoping he arrives soon," Youko said, smiling. "I really thought Belias was going to be more of a handful than he is... I don't think ANY of my kids have been as quiet or calm as he is."

Trio grinned. "He's such a sweetie, I almost want to take him home. I bet Makana would fawn all over him. You should see her with Nico!"

Snickering, Youko nodded. "Shiro brought him over once. I don't think he had hold of the kid the entire time he was here. He's adorable!"

"Isn't he? Makana won't leave him alone, but she doesn't pester him. She just... watches him. At first, I was a little afraid it was maybe instincts or something, but she's shown absolutely no interest in anything except cuddling him," she murmured, closing her eyes as she settled against Youko.

Youko wrapped an arm around her, nuzzling the top of her head for a moment as he just basked in the closeness. "Makana's a sweetie, she won't hurt him," he said, remembering the quiet little cat girl.

"Yeah, she is," Trio nodded, beaming. "I've been really lucky. You know something?"

"Hmm?" One ear pricked up as the fox looked to her.

"Kikuei's going to be upset when he finds out I came to visit without him," she laughed.

Snickering, Youko nodded. "It's alright. Kujaku likely wouldn't be up to much playing today. He's been sick the past few days, and just curled up in a featherball in the treehouse."

"Really?" Trio blinked, frowning. "Maybe... do you think he'd mind a quiet visit? I could get Kikuei and bring him back for a short little visit."

"Would you mind?" Youko asked, perking up. "I bet Kujaku would love it. He's been miserable, but refuses to come in the house."

Trio considered, then grinned. "Hand me the phone?" she asked, making no move to shift Belias just yet.

Nodding, Youko reached for the cordless, grabbing it off the table nearby and handing it to her. It was a good thing she didn't want to move Belias, because he obviously was going no where just yet.

Trio dialled with one hand, snuggling the little boy with the other arm. After waiting a moment, she grinned widely. "Hey, Az. Yes, the doctor was surprised," she laughed, keeping her voice soft so that she didn't bother the children. "Listen, I'm at Youko's and there's a sick little boy over here. I'm gonna come by in a little while to pick up Kikuei and bring him back here for a visit. Could you make sure he gets ready? ...Youko says that Kujaku's curled up in a featherball and miserable." A moment later, she nodded knowingly. "Thank you, Az. I'll see you soon." Hanging up, she handed the phone back. "We'll be back with Kikuei and some treats, I'm sure," she smirked.

"Sounds good," Youko said, grinning. "Just come in when you get back, the door's open." He blinked down at Belias who was now snoozing in Trio's arms. "He stays, though."

"Awww," Trio whined softly, then grinned back. "Can I hold him again when I get back at least?" she asked.

Snickering, Youko nodded. "Sure you can." He moved to grasp Belias' tail then, unwinding the sleeping boy from her arm without him even waking up. "We'll be here."

Trio grinned, leaning over to kiss Youko's cheek softly. "I'll be back soon," she promised, then headed out, a bounce in her step.

It wasn't exactly easy holding on to a squirming naga and a frost fae at the same time. Even when Eirwen had stopped her irritable motions due to heat, Belial had taken on enough energy for both of them and Kyrianna had no idea how to rectify the situation other than placing Eirwen in a stroller and Belial in a sling across her chest. Now that the fae didn't need the cool jelly sling she didn't have to create a bastardized version of a stroller to keep Belial from escaping.

She did, however, wonder if she needed shots. Belial had discovered he had fangs rather soon and made use of them daily on the feline girl. Thus, she was covered in bandages (mostly on her hands, though one was on the tip of her nose) and had a permanant scowl on her face. It was time to go see Youko.

The fresh air seemed to calm the naga down, however, and it didn't take an incredibly long time for Kyri to arrive at Youko's doorstep - one half asleep frost fae and one (for the moment) placified naga with her. She knocked.

Youko answered the door a moment later, blinking at the entourage and smiling as he stepped aside. "Come on in," he said, motioning her into the house. "I'd been meaning to call you, but managed to lose your number in the havoc that happened after I saw you. The egg hatched, and now I'm having to deal with a little half-snake that's too quiet for his own good."

The fox paused then, peering at the sling and letting his ears p***k up completely. "Is that... the other twin?" he asked, somehow assuming that both eggs had indeed hatched at the same time.

"It's fine, I had to see to Eirwen and then Belial discovered he had fangs..." she smiled a smile that lacked amusement before unhooking the sling with the small naga inside it, "And yes, this is the demon spawn. You say yours is too quiet? This one bites. And hard."

Belial wriggled a bit as the sling was set down and looked up at the kitsune with a look that purely said 'chew toy' and smiled. The points of his very tiny fangs could be seen as he did his best to try and look intimidating.

"Imp."

The good thing? Youko had experience with fanged children. Two of his own had them, after all. "Easy enough," he murmured, picking up the boy by holding the back of his neck and scooping his hand underneath the snake tail. It probably wasn't the BEST way to handle a newborn, but it kept his own body parts out of range. The fact that it didn't hurt the boy was also a plus.

"Your brother is in HERE," Youko said, padding into the livingroom and motioning Kyrianna to follow. In that room was Shavri, who was sitting amidst a pile of jumbo-sized Lego blocks... and a collapseable playpen that held a perfectly content naga boy. Belias was laying on his back, batting happily at the toys that dangled just over his face.

The feline girl scooped the half asleep Eirwen from the stroller and rested her on her shoulder, following Youko quietly. At least he was carrying the biter, and it seemed he had experiance with such. Maybe they could switch and she could take the quiet one? It was an idle thought, and one she wouldn't bring to light - but it cheered her up immensely, at least, knowing she could switch them with reletive ease if they were identical.

They were.

"Well, look at that. They certainly are identical."

Belial, who was rather upset at the way he was being carried, twisted and turned in an attempt to get down the moment he saw his brother. If he wasn't let down soon, he'd likely start screaming.

Kyrianna recognized the face and winced, "You may want to put him down before he turns into a banshee..."

Nodding, Youko set the squirming infant into the playpen with Belias. "They'll be alright in there..." Youko said, grinning to Kyrianna. "It's escape-proof. At least for the moment." He moved to drop down on the couch then, and pointed towards the rest of the room. "Take a seat, anywhere you like. Just mind the Lego deathtraps, Shavri tends to throw them more than she builds with them yet."

As if proving that particular point, the infant grew increasingly annoyed that the two blocks in her hands wouldn't fit together. She let out a shriek then, banging them together and finally hurling them so that they bounced off the sliding screen door that led out to the porch. As the blocks sprang back and landed on the carpet, the girl realised that this was MUCH more fun than building, and proceeded to redecorate the livingroom with ricocheted blocks.

The nagaling immediately wriggled over to Belias and made a soft sound in the back of his throat. Would he be recognized? The iridae couldn't remember anything of his past life, or that he even had one. He just knew that that boy, that little naga right there, was his own. One of his small hands went out and patted at his tail, "Greebre."

Kyr sat down beside him and laughed, "She's a cutie, though, so I suppose I can look past the flying blocks of doom. Eirwen used to do that. Throw anything that frustrated her...But her favorite thing to do was scream until I gave her some ice cubes to play with. Why am I stuck with the odd ones?"

Her interest shifted from the girl child to the two nagas, raising a brow, "He's not crying. Praise the goddess, he's not crying..."

At her words, Eirwen's head lifted and she whimpered, "Mama, seep. Shhhhh."

"Ah, sorry little one."

Belias blinked, staring at his mirror image and shoving his fist into his mouth to gum it worriedly. This was new. This person was new, he hadn't seen him before. But he HAD seen him before...

Things were so confusing.

"Abuh..." he murmured, blinking a few more times as he reached out with the hand that wasn't firmly in his mouth and patted at the other naga gently. Yup... there was something familiar there. This one was like him. Or WAS him. Wierd.

Youko smiled, sitting up a bit straighter to peer over the playpen side at the pair. "I think they'll be fine," he said, falling back to sit and looking at Kyrianna with a brow raised. "He cries? Belias never makes a sound, usually... I have to check on him a few times an hour, just to make sure he's alright."

Acknowledged, Belial made a sound of pleasure in the back of his throat, his little hand patting at his brother's hand. He was so much more interesting than the girl he had to share his room with, after all. Especially since he looked exactly like him. Much more fun to look at...And no, he wasn't biased. Really, he wasn't.

Now that he had his attention, the nagaling wriggled closer, layed his head on the other's chest, and flicked his tail. Comfortable. His own personal pillow!

"Oh god, he cries. He bites. He screams. He throws. He wriggles. He's a little menice to society and he's a newborn! I'm guessing switching is out of the question." She said it jokingly, though there was just a tiniest hint of a plea in her blue eyes.

"We can't," Youko pointed out, chuckling softly. "Belias is attached to me, and his brother to you, remember?" That was what the creepy woman had said anyway. "Maybe he could stay the night over here or something?" he offered, however, pricking up one ear as he shifted his gaze to the feline woman. "It would give you a bit of a break, after all."

Belias was perfectly content to be a pillow, and he curled up onto his side so that he could wrap around the other boy. This was nice... someone his OWN size, who wasn't going to shriek at him or pull his tail, like that other little girl did. "Meh... abfffffffffbrii..."

"Well, it was worth a shot," Kyr admitted, laughing weakly as she looked at the twins. Belial seemed so much...calmer..."He certainly seems happier over here," she muttered, shaking her head, "Maybe his twin's his security blanket."

It seemed plausible, in any case. She hadn't seen Belial that content since the time he gnawed on her thumb.

But the sleepover sounded absolutely wonderful, "That'd be a miracle. I haven't had time to set up his own room or baby proof anything because he's always getting into something or bothering Eirwen."

Belial shut his eyes and snuggled into his brother, one of his thumbs going directly into his mouth for a content suckle. No big sister babbling and taking up time that belonged to him. This thing was his and he liked it. "Foo...." he murmured around his thumb.

"I don't mind at all," Youko said, smiling. "Belias has been sleeping in here, in the playpen for now. I don't have room for an actual nursery just yet, so Shavri's been sleeping in my room and we've been making due with the playpen. He seems to like it just fine though. I usually find him awake in the mornings, watching the backyard through the sliding door."

Belias yawned widely, revealing that he did NOT possess the same fangs his brother did. Instead, the gums were smooth and pink, with no trace of teeth at all. Seemed like they weren't COMPLETELY identical after all. He didn't seem to care, however, and wrapped his tail around Belial's, making a snake-ish knot on the floor of the playpen.

"I'll be getting two of everything for Belial's room, for when Belias stays over. Though I may refrain from wasting money on two cribs when it seems like they wouldn't like being seperated too much..." her eyes remained trained on the two nagas, the cute cuddling scene they made almost too sweet for her to handle. Kyrianna was not a sentimental woman.

Belial's tail twitched slightly and played with his twin's happily. The rubbing felt nice against his scales and having someone to cuddle with was just peachy. Better than the teddy bear that Kyrianna had thrown at him. That was now currently missing an arm from his gnawing. Of course, the Naga was proud of the fact he could dismember a teddy bear.

"Oh... before I forget..." Youko moved then, disappearing up the stairs for a few moments, then came down again with what seemed to be a bundle of cloth. "You might find this handy, if you haven't discovered it already," he said, handing the cloth to her.

In the bundle were several wrappings that appeared to be diaper-like... but of a far different design than normal cloth diapers. "You'll have to wash them, but they seem to work fine on Belias. He doesn't squirm out of them like he did the regular diapers I tried to jury rig onto him."

Kyrianna took the cloth gratefully, "Yeah, Belial doesn't like the other diapers and since he doesn't exactly have two legs they don't seem to like him much either. Thank you," she laughed a little bit and looked to the nagas again, "Though I must say I'm not looking forward to having to wash them."

And she made a mental note that she'd have to scrub the bath tub very well after the fact. There was no way in hell she'd deal with a pooped up bath tub for her baths.

"Thank goodness Belias doesn't seem to really eat much... I think I've gotten him to eat once in the past few days. So the changes are infrequent at best, I just got into the habit of putting one on him right after he eats. He's usually done his thing within an hour or so, then he can be au naturale again." Youko snickered, remembering the amusement when he'd had his daughter point out that yes, it WAS likely normal for a baby to eat that little, considering that normal SNAKES only ate once a week or so.

Belias, by this point, was curled up into a ball, wrapped around his brother and clinging to him as he dozed. The tip of his tail occasionally vibrated against the bottom pad of the playpen, making an almost rattlesnake-like sound as he slept.

"I've gotten Belial to eat maybe once this week, and that was hard enough. I didn't know what the hell to feed him so I gave him some of Eirwen's baby food. He didn't like it, but he ate it. Then he made a point to wriggle to my shoes and spit up not too long afterwards."

Belial was happily curled against his twin, arms wrapped possesively around his mirror image as if Belias was a stuffed animal of some sort. Apparently he wasn't only possessive of inanimate objects, but people too. If either of the adults tried to pry him away, he'd most likely make use of his fangs. He wasn't quite asleep, yet, one eye opening every now and then to stare warily at his spirit keeper and the fox thing.

"I managed to get him to eat baby food... but he refused everything except meat. The rest wound up all over him, me and the floor." Youko smirked then, glancing to Kyrianna. "He's REAL good at squirming out of a high chair too. That whole 'no legs' thing."

"Unfortunately there's a shortage of 'Just for Nagas' products. I have a feeling we could make a pretty penny if we manufactured something for the children without two legs in Gaia. Eirwen doesn't like meat, so I don't have any meat based baby foods. I guess I'll have to go pick some up, if you have any suggestions?"

Shrugging, Youko just got up again and moved to a small sideroom that was only seperated from the livingroom by a large open archway. "Anything meat, so long as that's pretty much ALL that's in it. He didn't want anything else." He came back in a minute later, holding up something that looked like a cone-shaped satchel. It was relatively small, and looked to be half sewn. Smirking, Youko showed it to her. "I'm going to cut out the tip at the bottom for his tail to go through. Baby snake carrier."

"Mmph, see, this is why you should be awarded 'super dad' and I should give you both of my kids," she snickered and stroked the head of the now asleep frost fae in her arms. Once she was asleep, it was difficult for even Belial's screaming to wake her...Which was, quite frankly, a blessing.

"I've been using Eirwen's jelly thing with a cloth placed inside and taped to it so he can't get out. He doesn't sufficate or anything, but I'm sure that it's a bit uncomfortable for the poor dear. I found that he doesn't like too much heat or too much cold, either. I had to raise the temperature in the house because as much as I like him to be quiet, he looked quite sick in the freezing cold."

Nodding, Youko curled up on the couch again. "I noticed that... the livingroom is pretty much always warm, except for in the winter. When that comes, though, hopefully he'll have his own room" He waved away the 'superdad' comment and snorted. "No, I'm just wierd and think outside the box at times. I tried to figure out a way that I could carry him around so that he wouldn't be completely submerged in a bag all the time."

"I'll have to make my own for Belial as I'm sure he'll start trying to bite me otherwise. At least he won't be facing me and have access to some...uh...fleshy things that he otherwise shouldn't. Those fangs HURT. But at least they're not poisonous right now."

She had wondered if they would eventually be poisonous..And the thought wasn't all together pleasant.
