Hey everybody, I'd like to start by saying hi to baka being shes been trying to get me to come back to gaia since the day i quit in school so HI! haha . Anyways to get to the point, I wanted to talk to other people about what they do in thier GSA's in thier schools. I'm the treasurer of my GSA and i know that some days, we are completely dry on topics to discuss. So, why not compare notes?

Don't fight, you two... Anyway, remember that your GSA doesn't have to be just disscusion. Plan some activities and throw them in the mix! Like get together and makes tye-dye t-shirts with "insert name of school's GSA" on it or something like that. Plan a small gay straight mixer and invite people outside the club to join in with the festivities. Watch a movie about being gay or lesbian or being a friend or family member to a gay or lesbian. (A plus with the movie thing is that it gives you something to disscuss at the next meeting.) These things are all relatively cheap and I'm sure that if every member chiped in then it could be easily done.

See the thing is , with my school's GSA, everytime we try to do something like that, we don't get enough people to actually go on with the plan. It's kinda sad actually.
The main focus of our GSA is to be a safe and LGBT-friendly place to have lunch every Tuesday. But we do also discuss issues and try planning things. Our school has theme weeks and this year we actually managed to do a GSA-week. Rainbow day, fairy day, cross-dressing day, glam-rock day, and day of silence. (Not in that order.) Hopefully we'll be able to do more next year, because this year was really about starting to push out of our little school-club-shell. ^_^
