6.15.06 // Today, I've been charged with caring for a young Ocellated Moray Eel (Gymnothorax saxicola). I've given her the name Yshe (pronounced "Aye-zh" or "Ice"). Time to figure out what the Gaian life is like, eh?
6.19.06 // Yshe's first time out to the Community Pool. She seemed to be having a good time. She met another eel while out- species undetermined.
7.25.06 // Yet another trip out to the Community Pool. We brought Aeraen along- met another Lab Assistant and a sort of "mermaid" (who, apparently, used to be a betta fish). Chemicals in the water are what's causing the mutations. Yshe is becoming more.. intelligent.
9.12.06 // The two-foot one-inch Ocellated Moray Eel seems to have sprouted a human upper-body overnight. As of now, she hasn't spoken more than gibberish. She does seem more responsive to other voices, however.

Name : Yshe Avelle
Gender : Female
Species : Ocellated Moray Eel (Gymnothorax saxicola)Physical Description
Hair : Primarily white with dark, black tips. Matches her dorsal fin. Length of the hair is to her shoulderblades. It is usually tied back messily in a blue-green ponytail.
Eyes : Semi-round for a humanoid. Black in color.
Body : From the hip region down, her body is completely eel-like. The ocellated moray's coloration, however, begins at the lower ribcage with an upper angle in the front. This spotted brown is also on the entirety of her lower arms and hands. The portion of her body that isn't covered in this mucousy eel-skin is soft and cool and rather pale. An eel's typical round gill slits are located around her ribcage.Personal Description
Personality : Yshe is an insomniac. Being a nocturnal creature, she's not well-adapted to being awake in the daylight hours, leaving her a bit cranky. She has mood-swings and may lash out at others, though it's really not any fault of theirs. Though, if she's caught in a good and lively mood, Yshe can be good entertainment (depending on your definition of "good"). If she's not spotted or found out, she would rather shy away from a potential threat rather than confront it. However, this eel won't tolerate being treated like a doormat.

Names : Ocellated Moray or Black Edge Moray
Origins : Carribean Ocean, Central American Coast, Waters of the Western Atlantic
Daiurnal or Nocturnal : Nocturnal
Housing Preference : Rocky ledges and caves within the coral reefs
Diet : Carnivorous - Squid, Octopi, Fish, Invertebrates, and basically anthing that will fit in its mouth
Length : Approximately 20-35 cm
Respiration : Has small, circular gills that require the eel's mouth to maintain an opening for respiration.Physical Description
Eyes : Circular. Black in the center with a golden rim.
Body : The main body is a beautiful golden-brown color with light, round spots covering it. The dorsal fin is white outlined with thick, black spots. This body coloration is where the Ocellated Moray Eel gets its name- ocellated quite literally means "having spots".Personal Description
Personality : The Ocellated Moray is a semi-aggressive eel. It will eat most anything it can get its jaw around. However, it is also a shy creature, uncomfortable with new surroundings. It may take a little time for the eel to adjust, but when it has, it can often be seen hanging out, waiting for a meal.Pictures

Hair : Short, silver-white hair. Half of her bangs always seem to be falling into her face.
Eyes : Gray eyes that darken to a deep red when in rat form. No one knows why they're this way.
Body : Aeraen, like her friend Eloise, is short for her age. However, she's also light and quite agile if she has to be. Her skin is only slightly more tanned than Eloise's, having been in the world of Gaia far longer than the other girl. Her nails are long and almost claw-like. She also has the odd talent of twitching her nose.Personality
Personality : Aeraen has become more comfortable with the Gaian people and her personality has adapted to fit the lifestyle. Upon arrival to the land, she'd been a confused, quiet teenager. She didn't like approaching strangers. However, after being here for a few years, she's become a little more outgoing- especially to people she's befriended. Aeraen's more mature than her friend Eloise, who's still thinking in the ways of their world. But, then, she still attaches to friends and clings to them for dear life, so who knows?Pictures

Body : Short, white for the most part, with a black screen across "his" chest. An antennae on the top of his head serves to.. well... no one knows, really.Personality
Personality : Eyque is quite the mysterious little robot. No one, except maybe Aeraen, knows much about where he came from or when he even arrived at the house. He lurks around the house, occasionally found wandering the halls or tapping people on the shoulder unexpectedly. He doesn't say much, but will often clean up messes made by the other members of the house when no one is around.
Also, no one knows if the little guy is, in fact, a "guy". If he is, then robots have recently acquired genders. We doubt this is the case. However, he prefers the term, so that's what the family calls him.
He hates it when people take cracks at his Robotic "heritage". He would like everyone to know that he can compute just fine, thank you and have a nice day.Pictures
