I think they're one of the biggest examples or age-old romance that you can get. (Especially considering that Disney remade them all and tried to pump up the romance plot exceedingly.)
So, what's your favorite one? My favorite when I was 3 (and still is today) is Beauty and the Beast. Though I wish I could see another version than the Disney movie, I still love it.
For one, its a cute romantic plot, despite the fact that I think Belle/Beauty's a wimp. For another, Beast PWNS anyone in his way. Awesome.
I wish he had stayed a Beast though. His human form was kinda...weird.

The Kitsune Hanyou When I first found out she died, I was like "But in the movie she lived!!! crying " Srsly! I saw The Little Mermaid (the Disney Version) for the first time, the day it came out. My parents carted my sister and I around the like eight different video places trying to find it. By the time we got back, it was time for me to go to bed. But I wanted to see the movie, so I stayed up and cried and eventually my mom brought me downstairs so I could watch the end. The first part of that movie I ever saw was Ursula getting speared by the boat. xd

Beauty and the Beast! My all-time FAVORITE Disney fantasy. >3<
I liked Belle; she was much more intelligent and educated than say, Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella.
>3> My friend described the Beast in human form as "having eyebrows the size of Texas." xDDDD
Hey, does Shrek count as a fairytale? It's got lots of fairtyale elements... I loved those movies. ^^

I am a fairy tale fanatic, but not so much the disney versions as they ruined some of the stories.
My all time favorite is Beauty and the Beast I think the whole thing with Belle (which is French for beauty) loving Beast despite his ugly appearance always appealed to me. My favorite retellings of this story are both by Robin Mckinley, one is Beauty and the other is Rose's Daughter. They are very different, has anyone else read anything by her. She always has sweet but innocent love storys running through her books. Another fairy tale retelling of hers I have read is Spindle's End which is Sleeping Beauty.
