Julia was sipping from a small teacup as a little buzz sounded next to her head. Hmm. Fifteen minutes until her next appointment.
Placing the cup down on a small, stone coaster; Julia reached under the ledge of her desk, and pulled open a thin drawer. Inside was a file folder. There was a label on it and a picture clipped to it. She'd gotten a brief report on the couple from their application to the clinic itself. Cray seemed to think they'd be 'wonderful subjects'.
Flipping through the papers, she read them over quickly before putting them back into the drawer. Picking up her tea, she finished it up as she got up from her desk and strode across the room, and put the now emptied cup into a small sink.
Turning back she noticed the Xxitii sitting on her desk, toying with the new file.
"Shoo!" she shot out at it. Why couldn't he stay napping through one appointment? Someday they were going to get caught, and that just would not go over well. She half-heartedly wondered if Cray had the same problems with the creatures.
Snapping off something back in it's native tongue, the Xxitii threw the folder to the floor and slunk off to a wall, pulling open a side panel and crawling in.
A quick roll of her eyes and pulling the papers back up (as they'd fallen out when the snarky creature threw them), Dr. Walts took her seat and simply waited. It couldn't be too much longer now.

That appointment was there, and early at that. It had been driven into him at a young age to always be early for all appointments, if only to get in and out quicker, but it was just plain polite. It was also polite to knock on the door to announce your arrival, which he does. When allowed admittance, he opens it and looks inside, the other hand holding onto Panaceia's.
"Hey, uh," he starts off, looking around for a second before letting his eyes settle on the woman inside. He pushes the door further open before going on, "I guess we're your next appointment?"
He glances from the woman to Panaceia, wondering if she might know anything about this potential new doctor or what. It wouldn't matter though because he steps to the side to usher Pana in first.

Pana was following after Toushin, clutching his hand with not one of hers, but both hands. Honestly this place was getting under her skin, giving her the creeps. And it smells funny too!
When Toushin peeks in the doorway, and looks back at her, she arches a brow and shrugs, one of those 'wtf I dunno either' looks on her face and in her body language. As soon as he'd stepped aside though, Pana forced herself to walk inside. She eyes the doctor, a troubled smile creeping across her lips. Right hand rose up, scritching at her jaw with a single fingertip. Nervous chuckle along with that, then she said simply, "H-hello? Eh heh..."

Well, they'd shown up a bit early. But that was alright. Julia stood from her seat and motioned towards the chairs before her desk.
The room was obviously not a doctor's office. No. In fact it was reasonably decorated. Dark cherrywood walls and a matching carpet. The chairs were black leather, they looked rather comfortable.
There were at least half a dozen or more degrees and diploma's on the wall, a good number of awards as well. Julia smiled warmly as the couple entered the room, noting the woman's unease.
"Yes, I believe you must be. My name is Doctor Julia Walts. You must be Toushin and Panaceia." she took her seat once more.
"It's lovely to meet you both, please. Take a seat." her voice was even and controlled, but pleasant still.

He didn't seem to mind that Panaceia clutches to his hand for her life, one might think; he walks in after her, letting her hold and clutch as much as she wishes. At the doctor's words, he nods his head, ushering for Panaceia to take a seat first and hopefully she'll let go of his hand so that he can take the other seat.
"Yes. That's us. It's nice to meet you too."
He glances about again, taking notice of the amount of diplomas and awards up on the wall. If he's at all interested in them, he doesn't seem to show much of it, nor does he seem at all awe-inspired by it either. He lets his eyes wander back to her.
"Impressive trophy case."

Pana kept ahold of Toushin's hand with just one hand now, refusing to let go while being ushered in. But yes, she did let go at last when she took her seat, mostly-brown wolven tail curling around her waist to settle in her lap. As a self-comforting sort of thing, her fingers combed through, staring at the doctor with a sort of lost look. First time being pregnant and all... it was rather overwhelming.
Pana was still staring around the room, settling in to her habitat so to speak. She gave a curt nod after Toushin's 'compliment, adding her own, "You seem dedicated to your work..." It was spoken half-heartedly. Still, the gal's rather uneasy. Could you blame her?
"So.... can we get on with it?" Eyes finally meet the doc's. She wanted to get this meeting over with before she lost her sanity to all her confusion!

"Thank you." as she spoke her head tilted with a bit of a nod.
"Eager to leave hmm?" Julia chuckled lightly and nodded her head once more. "Well then, yes I suppose we can."
Hmm. Non-human, the thought rolled over her brain as she noticed Pana's tail. Cray would enjoy that.
"I've taken a brief look over your submitted form to the clinic. I didn't notice any notes from Doctor Cray, so am I correct to believe that you've yet to meet with him?" reaching to the left of her desk, she opened up a larger cabinet, and pulled forth an appointment application form, fairly certain in her query.

Can't help the frown that parts his lips as he hears Pana. He reaches a hand out to take one of hers, pulling it from the tail to set it on the arm of the chair and give it a reassuring squeeze. No need for rudeness, after all. His attention returns to Julia as she speaks.
"We haven't yet, no."

Quiet whimper rises up from her throat, looking at Toushin pitifully as he takes her hand. Puppy eyes, take that! Tail flicked irritably across her thighs, huffing out a big sigh before looking back to Dr. Walts, puppy look gone as she listened.
Now she looked a bit more serene and patient, though on the inside her thoughts remain the same. Following Toushin's reply, she shakes her head from side to side, a shy and wordless 'no.'

"Well, that's alright. More often than not, they meet with Cray first. However, it's not always the case." she pushed the paper across the desk towards the couple.
"This is just an form for setting up your initial appointment with him. You can fill it out whenever you're ready, and drop it off at the reception counter." she withdrew her hand and folded them one over the other.
"Now," she began slowly, "this is just an introductory meeting. I just want to get to know you both before we move along, and to let you know some of the processes and policies we have at this clinic. Now, I am a licenced psychiatrist..." she paused, letting that term sink in.
"Which is part of the policy we have at this clinic. I'm not sure if you saw it when you registered, but there was a section that mentioned my charge as part of the health and growing part of the clinic here. It is not something I will say you must attend, however I believe it is a welcoming approach that many parents are not often granted when a new child comes into the family." she joted something down on a piece of paper.
"Cray will be your actual physician. He's very well educated, and has spent many years dealing with couples, such as your selves. I can honestly say you won't find anyone else quite like him." heh.
"Before I go on... do you have any questions or concerns?"

Knits his brows at Pana when she shoots that look at him, frowning at her at the same time before looking back to Julia. He keeps his fingers wrapped around hers, rubbing gently with his palm and thumb to keep her somewhat relaxed and at least comforted by the fact that he's right there with her.
He leans forward to reach for the paper, taking it and looking it over as he listens to Julia speak, giving nods of his head to let her be aware that he was listening.
"Psychiatrist?" he echoes, brows arching, tilting his head up just enough so that he can look over the top of the paper at the woman. He waits for her to finish before he poses, "What exactly would we need a psychiatrist for?"

Pana was quiet for the most part, eventually easing and relaxing into the chair as she settled down. But then... "Psychiatrist," she echoed in question with Toushin, looking at him as he continued his sentence, then she spoke right after, "Yes. Why would we need a psychiatrist? We're not crazy!" A little feral growl followed, though it was kept fairly quiet. Fur on her tail bristled. Okay, so she's not crazy. But she's got a short temper it appears. Or maybe it's the whole 'pregnancy' thing.

There it was. The expected question. As Pana growled, Julia simply shook her head at them.
"No miss, rest assured I am not making any assumptions on your mental health, and I don't believe you are 'crazy', as you so termed it. No. This is for after the pregnancy." she clears her throat a bit before continuing on.
"In many studies, there's been found that the woman can suffer from something called 'postpartum depression'. Oftentimes it goes uncited and unaccounted for. Putting it off as something as simple as 'coming off the hormones'... as I've heard it put so... eloquently in the past." she sighed.
"It's also for the benefit of the child. As part of the clinic's policy, there are checkups with the family... if they wish," she emphasized again, that this was not something they would have to do, "it's to watch for any signs that may show up in the children early on, to avoid any difficulties later on in life." she smiled genuinely.
"What we do here is for the benefit of your family as a whole. New children can be stressful on everyone. We are simply offering a place for some of that burden to be lifted off your shoulders."

Toushin frowns at Pana, turning his head to look at her and at the same time squeezing her hand to try and stop her. He shoots an apologetic stare in Julia's direction, frowning more. He stays quiet though, hoping his expressions would speak for themselves. Right now it's curious to hear what the doctor has to say.
Some of what she says is familiar to him, but he also does want to know more. An excellent doctor, he would have to admit; she was going into enough detail to soothe his nerves. He's not sure about Pana though and looks at her. Regardless, he leans towards her while lifting her hand up to kiss at it to let her know she could stay calm.
His attention quickly shifts back to Julia, speaking, "I see, I see. I think it would be a good idea personally, but I think it's Panaceia's choice in the long run. I can only hope she wants to do it."

The growl quieted down... AFTER Pana shot a glare and growl at Toushin for squeezing her hand. But then she was silent, staring at the doctor again, breathing a little harder to calm down. Someone's got anger issues? In time she calms down and seems fairly calm again, eyes averting to Toushin as he kisses her hand, but head didn't turn. It was just a brief glance after all.
After Toushin got his two cents in, she sat there considering for a moment, mind racing fast. Brows knit, looking down at her lap. Then she tilt her head up and looked at Tou, then Julia, and at last, "Alright. For the cub - er. Baby, then." Tail twitched in her lap, head tilting.
