Too often, I see "etcetera" abbreviated as "ect.". That is incorrect. It should be abbreviated as "etc.".

I've never spelt it like that, and I've never seen it like that either, although it would annoy me to see it spelt like that. Some people are so stupid.

Pssst. It's 'et cetera.' Two words. From the Latin: 'and the others.'
I've never seen it abbreviated as 'ect.' either.

Time may fly, tears may dry~ ~Yeah, that typo is too common to be a typo stressed
I've only seen it once, but I've heard many complaints... But our friendship will never die~

Oh yeah... Technically you correct. "Et cetera". I'll try to remember that.
To the previous poster: Please include punctuation in your sentences, as this makes them easier to read. Thank you.

I see it written like that very frequently. It is rather disturbing.

I think a more common problem than a typo is the oh-so-frequent misuse/abuse of latin abbreviations, "etc." included. Not only that, but things like "i.e." are commonly used incorrectly or inappropriately, and it's terribly annoying. But I guess at least they're trying to be cultured, or something.

*Sigh* Yes, i've seen people write et cetera that way. It's sometimes just a typo, but I find it sad that some people just use abbreviations for words and don't actually know how to spell the full word. rolleyes crying

Mmhmm, that's a common typo with the word. I think it's because a lot of people pronounce "et cetera" like "ex cetera", so they think that the c comes before the t.

I've seen many people spell it wrong, almost as much as I've seen 'alot' floating around.

Gigglypuff Mmhmm, that's a common typo with the word. I think it's because a lot of people pronounce "et cetera" like "ex cetera", so they think that the c comes before the t. AHA! AHA! Thank you! Someone beat me to it. Almost everyonne I know pronounces it "Ek Setera" or something like that It makes me very angry. Whenever someone says that, and I respond with "It's pronounced Et Cetera" They always get in my face. They say things like "It's just grammar, why should we care?" Or "So what? You know what I mean." Is this a pet peeve of anyone else, or am I just paranoid?
