It was the early afternoon, a rare time to see Aruna wide awake and walking about as she currently was. However, lately she was only able to take short, two hour naps between the usual times she was awake and the times she usually slept.
Oh well. Maybe she would meet someone new today if she walked around a bit more. She nibbled on a bit of sweet grass as she walked, though she felt a bit weird to be walking around alone today. She didn't feel like being alone for once.
Today, she felt like she wanted company, but she wasn't sure who she would prefer to be in the company of. Preferably Calamity or Rahu, or someone definitely new. Maybe she could even see Shadowfax! He was definitely in the "preferably" category, oh, and someone new, of course.

Oathkeeper woke up with a yawn. Golly, how long did I sleep in? he wondered, rising spiritedly to his feet. The day all around him seemed beautiful. He greeted a passing blue jay with a soft whinny and after a quick few streatches, went trotting off chipperly to find himself some brunch.
After a little while of wandering, he was about to settle on a patch of grass still shimmering with morning dew. However, something caught his eye. It appeared to be a mare, wandering around nibbling on some grass nearbye. He lifted his head back up and gave his unsual colored mane a shake.
Softly he tapped a foot on the ground and gave a friendly whinny over to her to direct for attention. "Good er---morning!" he called out to her, "Haven't seen you before! I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" He was trying to be as polite as possible to her, as he always was with everyone.

Aruna's ears perked up at the sound of another. She looked up from her nibbling, and saw the strangest colored stallion she had yet to meet. But he was colored interestingly, and she wanted to know if he was born that way.
"Hello," she replied politely, walking over to him. He seemed one of those playful sorts, but he wasn't irritating her yet, so she was okay. "Good morning? Well, good morning, good sir." She tried not to laugh. It was early afternoon, after all. "Good afternoon, more like, actually. Did you sleep the morning away? I do that myself sometimes.
"Haven't ever seen you, either, good sir, and you're hardly interrupting anything. Actually, I was hoping to find company." She tossed her head, trying to get the feathers that were arrayed in her mane to stop tickling her. "I'm Aruna. And you?" He was very friendly, that was for sure.

Oathkeeper smiled his usual sparkling smile as she approached. "Shucks, no need to call me sir" he laughed, "I'm Oathkeeper." He looked up at the position of the sun in the sky, "And by golly, you're right...it is afternoon and I did sleep the morning away." He shook his head and laughed, "Anyhow, not important."
Continuing on, he smirked, "Aruna eh? Means dawn, right? Very lovely name. What is a lovely named mare like you up to on this lovely day?" he asked.

"Why, yes, my name does mean dawn," said Aruna, blinking in surprise. He was the first stallion she met who knew the meaning of her name. "How did you know? And thank you." She smiled at his compliment.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Oathkeeper. And I won't call you "Sir" anymore, since I know your name now." She chuckled softly, and agreed with him. "Yes, sleeping the morning away into the afternoon isn't important. I'm just up and around this lovely day, kind of bored really."

Oathkeeper smiled broader, and gave her a charming look, "Well you see, I may not know many around here yet, but still if there's one thing I do have vast knowledge of personally, it's name meanings." He exclaimed this is such a manner that it almost sounded like he was trying to be a show off about it, even though that wasn't the case. "I simply love to know what's in a name. Many say 'a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet'. True as that is, it is still forever the name 'rose' we accociate with being 'sweet'. In example, if your name was Rose, I'd think you sweet."
He laughed, "Aruna is a term for 'dawn' therefore, I think you 'soft mannered and easy-going' am I right?" he smirked once more.
"Anyways, I'm most likely not helping your bordom any with all my loving of knowing name meaning jibberish" he began again quicky, "Do you have anything you like to do? Perhapse we might get to know each other better by engaging in one of your favorite activities" he suggested.

She almost thought he was trying to show off, but she could tell Oathkeeper was being genuine, and that he was merely excited. He kind of reminds me of Father, she thought amusedly. "That's a very nice saying. But you shouldn't just go along with the name. Not every name means the personality of what it means, Oathkeeper."
Aruna twitched an ear. "How about a guessing game?" she suggested. "You have to guess what I'm really like, and I will tell you right now, even though my name means "Dawn" I am nowhere near 'soft-mannered and easy-going', although I am, to some extent." She found it interesting that he liked to know name's meanings. "It's not jibberish, Oathkeeper! I find it very intriguing."

"Guessing game huh?" he began, thinking on how he could be genuine in his guessing, but proper and unoffencive. "I know my name is self explanitory..." he chuckled, biding time as he thought it out.
"Let's see. You're not one of those coying mares are you?" he jested, "You know, the ones that just play with your mind and heart a bit then leave you in the dust wondering what in the world happened?" He gave his tail a slight flick as he thought some more,
"Okay, here's my more serious answer to your request of guessing your personality. Judging by your age, I'd have to say you don't know yourself well enough to have a set personality. I may be somewhat young and inexperianced, but I understand a lot about whats inside my heart and soul. I know myself, I have direction, I know what I want and what I stand for in life. I'm devoted, dedicated, fun-loving, spirited, optimistic, out-going and compassionate. My question to you is do you truely know the very same about yourself?"

"I guess that means I don't have to guess about you," said Aruna, watching Oathkeeper amusedly. "And no, I'm not one of those coying mares. If I was, I'd have flirted with you and walked off already."
She twitched an ear at his serious answer, however. "You've gotten quite a good guess. But I know myself well enough. I've had to nurse a broken heart already, I doubt I want to have another. At the moment, I'm merely interested in making friends.
...Or enemies. Whichever works, I suppose."

Oathkeeper gave a gentle nod at her replies, "Making friends is a good thing. I hope soon enough I can be considered a friend to your standards."
His stomache grumbled lighty and he smirked. "So then...mind if I quickly grab a bite to eat then we head off and do something fun? I don't recall you answering me on any of what you're favorite hobbies were..."

"Sure," she said, smiling slightly. She mentally added him to her list of friends. He was very kind and polite; he sounded loyal, too. Yes, a good friend, indeed. "My favorite hobbies? Well, I guess I could say that I'm an unusual mare.
"...My hobbies probably differ greatly to yours."
She really couldn't tell him that she was obsessed with Soquili who had wings, now could she? She only let the Soquili who had wings know she loved them. She didn't want to appear any stranger than she already did, anyway.

Oath let out a laugh, "Different or not, what are your hobbies?" he asked. He really didn't find anything unusual about her, to him, she seemed more normal than he was. He gave a small flick of his tail as he awaited for her to announce an 'unsual hobby' to him.

Aruna sighed. "It's your call, I s'pose," she muttered. "Well, I usually like to come out at night; I like watching the stars and the moon, and I'm always up for a good verbal fight.
"I'm not much into making friends, but I do love to do it. It's odd that I'm so conflicted on that, but it could be because I get that from my father." Aruna paused as she tried to think of how to say the next few things she liked to do.
