As hours based from dark to light, what was once night had given way to day. Nathaniel hadn't realized he fell asleep, but was suddenly startled by the sound of the chirping birds above. The grass underneath was wet and cool from the morning dew left over during the dawn hours. The stallion turned his head back to see that Saissis was still there. As she lay asleep he felt a bit relieved and stood upon his legs.
Nathaniel's eyes scanned around the field and up and down the trees before him. His eyes openned in relief as he started picking soem apples from the branches he could reach above his head. Slowly he started making a small pile of them before him.
"That should be sufficient for the time being," he said as stood there counting them out the breeze then blew within his hair. The stallion then stared upon the new day before him.

The light wrapped around her as eyes fluttered open as her wings flitted with a light wispy sound. She blinked inchoherently wondering where she was and why she was there. The smell of the drass heavy with dew signaled she wasn't in the saftey of the clearing. As she moved to her feet she faltered from her sore hock. Raising it she stood firmly on three legs with the constant flutter of her wings for balance.
Hearing a noise she turned her head abruptly noticing the large white winged grabbing apples from a nearby tree. She limped slowly heading toward him with a soft reserved smile.
"You stayed with me all night? Thank you." she nodded with her cheeks reddening with a scarlet hue. She had been so ignorant previously in her pain and confusion.

Nathaniel heard Saissis waken, and his attention turned from the food laid out before him to her.
"Of course, you had asked me to stay, it's not like I had anywhere better to go. It's simply not in my nature to let someone who is injured spend a night defenseless in the open."
His head turned back to the apples lying on the ground.
"I have picked some food for this morning, hopefully it should be more than enough, but if it isn't then I can just get more down. It may not be the greatest meal in a morning but it is easily available."

She limped over to the pile staring up at him with much gratitude. It was something a flutter so care free was not used to. Leaving the weight off her injured leg she balanced herself managing to grab an apple. Chewing bites she smiled and watched him again.
"I appreciate it for its rare another would lend a hoof in time of need. Praytell Nathaniel where are you from if I may ask?" she queried coming up closer to him finally noticing how much bhigger a winged was compared to a flutter. Massive and rippling with a strong muscular frame she looked quite frail compared to his large stature.

Nathaniel closed his eyes slightly as he sat himself back down. It looked as if a cold pain ha djust run through him, though he did not speak much of it.
"I don't really remember anymore, " he spoke to her with his head slightly turned away," I've been wandering for so long that I don't know where I started."
There was a look of pain in his eye, and he seemed a slight bit uncomfortable touching on the subject.
"It's not soemthing I care to talk about much."

The mare paused in her thoughts to frown in her annoyance. Her leg was still throbbing but the pressure was gone atleast. She wondered when he would up and leave feeling silly for liking him past his sore memories.
"When I am healed will you once again travel the skies? " she asked suddenly afraid he'd leave. Her emotions were washing over her but yet to openly say feelings you felt were purely foolish. She blushed at her query turning her head quicky so he wouldn't catch her.
Leaning downward she ate another apple. Perhaps when she was settled she'd take a flight herself then soak in the cool spring not too far from there.

Nathaniel raised his head for the moment, staring at the blue sky above in response to her questioning.
"It's hard to tell where the road will take this one, as I never know when or where I'll be going from day to day. I just, don't know where I belong, maybe that's what I'm searching for. Not so much who I am, but maybe where I belong."
He lowered his head again, placing an apple in his mouth. His face remained blank for a bit as he ate from the apple.
"What am I walking forward from, am I runnin from a past or memories I don't care to remember, or is a journey looking towards the future. I have not such answers, so I do not know"

The mare stumbled practically beliving in a split second he might up and leave and never return. Her eyes widened like saucers in fear that his absence would loosen a thread that might tear at her heart. Stepping forward she spoke uneven yet determined, "No you can't leave!" she cried as her hair fell forward with the sudden clash of metallic beads meeting one another.
She blinked then became very quiet her cheeks rushing to the flavor of tinged raspberry. Had she spoke on her own or was her heart speaking for her.

Nathaniel's head turned back for a moment, in a brief pause. His face looked blank liek he didn't have any feeling at the present time.
"How can you ask that of someone whom you barely know. I barely knowest myself as is."
His head turned back towards the sky, letting the breeze move through his hair.
"I started this path a long time ago, and I don't know where it's going to end up, nro do I know the answers I will find along the way. But I will fidn something, that much is certain of this one."

The sky darkened with the faint hint of a storm looming far off in the distance. The creatures disappearing into sanctuary as they sensed the coming aura of electricity.
The little delicate flutter mare frowned feeling quite idiotic that her words seemed to bounce off the fortress shell he stood firmly behind. How long had she walked alone wondering when "he" would come along. Stars etched in the sky fortold things in her dreams. Water flowing onward to reach its final place where the ocean embraced her every fiber.
"Well... destiny can play a role in fate as it enters our lives. But that's a far off dream of a silly little forign mare to these parts. You should atleast get to know the area before you head off to a new life." she spoke with a tinge of rejection to her soft crystal voice.
"I think I'll go find Istas before the storm hits... I'll be back in awhile." she mentioned her face turned from him. Frustrating. Opening her little transparent cyan lucid wings she caught a breeze and lifted into the air.

Nathaniel looked up at the darkening sky. The brow of his visible eye raised slightly, then closed as he let out a sigh.
"I guess I will have to remain in the area for the time being with this storm overhead. I don't exactly know where the nearest shelter is so I may have to ask you to show me the way there."
The stallion stood to his hooves and looked around a bit as things got quiet around them.
"So early in the day for a storm."

The light flashed violently across the dark indigo sky as she hovered in the air. A chunk of a gasp escaping her lips caused her to flit unbalanced back to the ground.
"Istas you silly girl... please come back before this hits." she mumbled looking at the stallion. Flicking her long silken tail she pointed her head in the direction of a clearing that housed a suitable cave.
"Follow me please. I know of a dry cave behind a clearing not too far from here where we can stay. That is .. if you want to." she motioned as her jilted walk unbalanced her steps causing her to stumble occasionally. Grumbling she continued hoping he'd follow her. The storm was high now as the wind picked up viciously. She was glad to get a chance to simply rest her leg again.
up ahead something white and purple streaked toward the cave carrying a strange Kawani type material in its paws.

Nathaniel gazed at the lightning above. Small beads of water began to drop themselves upon his muzzle. He turned to look at Saissis.
"Yeah, it's best if I seek some shelter for the time being. I won't be able to go anywhere in this weather."
He started walking towards the cave listening to the thunder deepen above.
"Seems like a bad storm. It's kind of sudden too, I don't normally remember ones this bad popping up in the mornings."

She still was a bit depressed as she made way to the shelter she had made once hand before here. A nice bedding, plenty of water to drink, and security from the harsh elements the land offered from time to time. Let it be known a fiece wind was never a flutters best optin which she avoided with no hesitation.
By the time she reached the cave her leg was aching once more as her coat was now a bit soaked through by the summer's first rainfall. Sitting in the nettles, fluff, and bedding sat Istas opening a strange cloth with her skillful paws.
The mare limped over looking at her familiar, "Istas where have you been all this time?" she queried with a look of worry and pain laced within.
Istas looked up at the mare her coat white as clouds as it mingled with the blues and purple. Being a raccon she was quite crafty and skilled in finding things.
"Ah I see you have company. Well look.. look what I found us Saissis. Plenty for all. Come see."
Uncovering the strange hide blanket Istas reveiled various fruits, berries, and other things for their hungry bellies.
Saissis turned her head to Nathaniel smiling a bit, "Hungry?"
