I see a lot of people, pick their race and jobs on the basis of "what's best". I personally, hate that... When I have people telling me I should sub Ninja for my Ranger, I can't help but get insulted! It's my character, it's my game, let me be what I want! I think Rng/Nin is way to often used, and mostly because it's what's "best" not what the actual player wants, and I think that's unfair.

If I had it my way, I would become a Nin/Drg someday, just so I could be a Ninja with Jump, that too me, sounds funny and fun.

So for discussion, did you choose your race and job, because that's what you wanted? Or because it's what you researched to be the "best" job for that race?

i usta be a hume, then re-created my character once i met my first taru. SO CUTEEEEEEEEEE. So now I am a taru WHM because it's what I wanted to be from the start.... My friend quit in his high 60's because he was a hume rdm and wished he was a taru rdm for more mp. he didn't feel like starting from scratch so he just quit. I know of a few people on my server who have what you might call "gimped subjobs" why? because they aren't what you would normally consider a Good subjob. There is a very high lvl hume RDM subs THF... seeing how rdm are so versitile "I" don't see a problem with a mainly melee rdm as long as they keep up the refreshes. But many people DON'T invite her just for that fact (my BF for example x.x) when i was in the dunes i had a hume blm/thf in my party.. i didn't understand why he had such little MP and was resting more than 80% of the time, until i checked him.. i had thought "maybe he doesn't have a subjob"... he was subbing thf. I said to him "you know, you shouldn't be subbing thf. you have very little mp as it is and thf doesn't help that." he got a bit offended and said he liked subbing theif. i told him, i know, it's your game you can play as you want, but you're not helping yourself or your party hindering your MP like that. So I guess there are a lot of people who have odd subjobs, they are often asked "could you please change your subjob before we pt?" and then they come out and say they have no other sub O.o;.... Kinda like those WAR/whm's (ghetto pld's) they all have a reason for that, tho others often disaproove of it. it doesn't stop them. it's their game, they play how they want, you're just going to have to put up with the weird remarks when people /check you.
o and my subjob is blm... for a long time i wanted to do smn sub but after reading all the pros and cons, i'll stick with blm ^^;

I HATE it when people get on your case about what -should- be good. like when i was messing around with adv jobs..mainly summoner...i upped blm cause i didnt really want to bother with whm. An people would go oh thats weird!! it should be whm blah blah blah...i dont really see the difference seeming blm gets more mp then whm does an probably higher natural mp recovery sense they use more to nuke. So after that i pretty much gave up on adv an went back to my war/mnk combo (suited me best cause im a great weapon fanatic) i still hear people go ewwwwwww war/mnk.... war/nin is better! im like ew...i like great weapons an i dont have nin unlocked anyway. i like war/mnk so lemmie alone!

The ONLY time ill b***h about how a person is oddly set up is when youre just a walking mistake....like brd/nin for example...its like wtf possesed you to choose that?! Other wise it should be whatever floats your boat an makes you happy not what others think.

lol TiggyChan war/mnk is a GREAT combination.. /slap ppl who bother you about it xd yea sure, subbing ninja and duel weilding axes would make you more of a damage dealer but mnk is also good cuz of str boost, hp boost, and the JAs like boost, dodge, and focus ^^!

*edit* i was just talking to my bf about being whm/pld or pld/whm and the later sounds kinda interesting ^^; but i'd have to cast a lot cuz i'd have no provoke. i'll get enourmous amounts of hate if i devine seal + curaga or cure3 in battle. the mob will hate me more then the blm that casted flare on it xd i wonder if this would really be efficient though...

.... i know many people that make those rediculous "omg wtf why is your sub that?!" stuff, >_<; pisses me off to no end. but rediculous subs are another story, like war/smn or whm/thf or just other crazy stuff you wouldn't want in a party. i normally don't care what you have as a sub, i'll ask if you have a prefered sub, but if not i just go "; ; ok...." and move on lol. but what gets to me is gimped-subs (underleveled like 40main/7sub will just) ... stressed scream it just PISSES ME OFF TO NO EXTENT!!!! stressed i try to avoid adding them to my party at all costs... but if we need something like whm or something... >_>; there are some spells that you just really need you know? lol


and i have a word about war/nin as blink tanks... it's not worth it. because war's eva skill is C- you need to have like +40 eva or +30 AGI just to make up for what you'd not compare to as a ninja. but as a damage dealer, dual wield axe's are just sick O______o; i mean with +acc gear and +str/atck you will out damage DRKs til 60... even then there's a war on the server that did a 900+ Vorpal Blade to an IT orc... i mean it was sick... just SICK!!! XD at Lv62 too!!! not like... 75 or something.. but for tanking purposes war/mnk is awesome, adds VIT and adds max HP boost, hehe and like snow angel stated, boost, dodge and focus x.x awesome stuff, another is THF for the added agi and dex but that's about it > >;

anyways to sum up my rant O.o; i've found that it's not the sub that matters what you're capable of,.. it's your gear, hell if you want to be rdm/war and tank for all i care... BUFF up your VIT and def >_<; (i've seeen it and they hold hate fairly well. > > wink war/whm isn't advisable.. pld's 10 levels lower than me have 15 more vit than i... it's almost embarrasing ; ; meh... >< i'm done...
