I was in the extended discussion today, and a thread like this came up. Basically it was saying that mother's who are pro-choice are good because they actually want their childen. What the hell? What is this crap? I'm sorry, but things like this annoy me to no end. Its like saying "I wanted a baby, so I'm a wonderful person. But oops, I don't want that one so I'll kill it. It'll be OK!" Then they used the argument "What if a woman isn't maternal?" Take.The.Freaking.Pill. Use condoms. Hell, get your tubes tied. Don't blame your mistakes on babies. Bah..forgot the link. Its like "Smile your mother was pro-choice.

I read that thread and yeah I was pissed when I read it. The thing about being pro-life is that yeah unwanted pregnancy/parenthood is bad but KILLING YOUR CHILD IS WORSE! I don't understand how someone can say that it would be better to kill your child just because you believe it he or she wouldn't necessarily have the easiest life. DEAL with it! If you don't like your life then make it better rather than use it to justify the evil of KILLING your unborn baby. I am very angry right now. Need to cool down.

I once was in an argument with a pro-choicer who was all "Yeah, but surgery to prevent you from having children often leaves the woman with weird hormones, vaginal dryness, etc. blah blah blah." And I was like "And the surgery to kill your children can leave you with permanent emotional and mental scarring and can lead to cancer. Not to mention, someone has to die in the process." I thought it was a no-brainer. Maybe I was wrong?

Grah...this is so frustrating knowing that people CELEBRATE the fact that someone else dictated whether or not they had value and not understand the truth that they had value all along. This is freedom? How can we celebrate a freedom to choose when we are not even given the freedom to come into this society in which such freedoms exists? This totally boggles my mind.
You mother chose you. Congratulations. You survived the first nine months of your existance and you now have the capacity to celebrate the fact that others won't.
Actually this is downright insulting. I'll dictate my own worth and make myself valuable kthx. Mom had no damn business dictating that for me. It's MY life.
I sould like an embarrassed teenager yelling at her mother "You're ruining my life! Stay out of my life!".
At least she decided not to take it away. It would have been perfectly legal ya know. rolleyes

scream Ok, Ame is extremely angry at the moment. So I'm back in this thread. And this girl is like "Well what if the mother is wanting a career" and gave all these excuses. I'm like "Close your freaking legs. Take the pill do SOMETHING" So this other girl comes in and shes like "I'd kill them. I don't believe in adoption. Its morally wrong. So its ok to kill your baby, but its not ok to give them to a good home? Wow. People.Are.Retarded.

When you put a child in adoption, there is no guarantee they'll have a good home, but there is the guarantee they'll be alive and one day able to make their own decisions.
Any one who says "My mom loves me, she's pro-choice and decided to have me." I bring down the crushing concept of "Yeah, mabey, but did you concider that at any time in the first and secodn trimestser for any reason at all she could have decided not to have you? You were just a choice after all." I get three reactions mostly. Either they ignore me, try to gurantee me that their mother wanted them, or insult me and tell me they wouldn't care because they wouldn't knwo what was gogin on.

To that last one, I just have to say, "So if I drugged you up so bad that you didn't know what was going on, you wouldn't care if I put a bullet through your head?" Fast, 'nigh on painless... Hell, with a high enough caliber rifle, you wouldn't even need to drug them up, they'd be dead before they knew what hit them.

...huh...
anywho, how does that make any sense whatsoever? i mean... basically, they're saying "my mommy loves me so much because she's a good person and i was lucky enough to have been concieved between inconveniences. she loves me so much because i am her child. i almost had a brother, but she loved him so much, that because she was getting ready for a job interview and had a headache and was tired and didn't have enough money and it wasn't a good time and she had goals and stubbed her toe, she killed him. wow, i wish she cared enough about me to slaughter me for a mix between her own conveneince and a faccade of looking out for my potential interests."

Oh my god! Could you imagine what it would be like to find out you were supposed to have a sibling, but your mother killed them because it wasn't a "good time" Especially if were a younger sibling. Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't be smiling.

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't be smiling. If I found out my mom aborted one of my siblings I honestly don't know how I'd react. Thats such a wierd thought.

I responded with something immature like "My mom would sacrifice anything for me, too bad your mom only tolerated you because she wanted to be pregnant."
Well, it's true, my mom wouldn't kill her children for anything, her mom's love is apparently conditional. Sucks to be her... biggrin
