Schwarz Stein is a Japanese Visual Kei, Electronic music band which operated from around 2001 to 2004.

History

The group consisted of a duo; Kaya (ex-ISOLA) and Hora (ex-Velvet Eden), who originally worked together under the name Rudolf Steiner in 2001. 2002 saw the band signed to Moi dix Mois leader Mana's music label Midi:Nette; at that time they changed the band's name to "Schwarz Stein" (pseudo-German for "Black Stone").

Prior to their name change, they released two demo tapes (Queen of Decadence and Perfect Garden). A new version of Perfect Garden was later released as their Midi:Nette debut single. They went on to release their debut album New Vogue Children in June 2003, the single Current in November of the same year, and their last album Artificial Hallucination in February 2004. They opened for Mana's solo project Moi dix Mois a few times and played in several multiple-band shows, as well as making several solo appearances.

After their last performance on March 29 2004, Schwarz Stein officially disbanded due to creative differences although they briefly reunited for the "Dis Inferno III ~LAST YEAR PARTY~" event on December 15 2004, hosted by their former label Midi:Nette.

Current

The duo have both stated they will continue to pursue careers in music. Hora has released two albums as a solo artist, and Kaya has announced his intention to return to the stage as a performer as well.

A new collaboration CD "Another Cell" has been announced, to be released in April 2006. This CD will feature the work of Kaya and Hora along with other session musicians; it has been announced that versions of Rudolf Steiner's "kuro ageha" and Hora's "INNER UNIVERSE" will be two of the eight tracks. It should be noted that this is a one-time-only collaboration and not a reunion of Schwarz Stein.

Aah, a Schwarz Stein thread.
I have most of their albums. Well, had, since my computer's dead.

I never understood one thing about the vocalist - Is he impersonating a womanl in his songs? I say that because in his songs, he uses the female form of "I" and the translation shows the point of view of a woman, in the song Succubus.

I really love Schwarz Stein ^^ Besides the fact that Kaya is perhaps the most beautiful Japanese man in existence (second only to Mana, I suppose), their music is really original and energetic. A lot of technorock tends to get repetative after a couple songs, but SS manages to keep things interesting. Of all the albums, I think Perfect Garden is my favorite heart

I really can't wait for Kaya's newest solo release! If I remember correctly, I believe my friend told me that Hora helped work on a few songs for it... biggrin Is this a sign of good things to come? *hope*

I absolutely agree. Kaya IS GORGEOUS. heart They ended way too soon though...but the best thing about their music was that it was unique in comparison to other bands. It's a great thing that both are still in the music industry though.

If only they'd get get back and work with each other...*hopeful too*

xD I love SS! They're like, techno and stuff, and it makes me happy.
I love how Kaya looks so possitively gorgeous, but his voice is so manly, and powerful! xD Totally hot!
As for Hora, he is my most favorite. So cute...^-^
It's a shame they no longer are together...;-;

I wish they would work together again. They're a perfect match together.

Hora still makes kick a** ******** music but it just seems empty without Kaya's vocals. D: And Kaya's solo work is OKAY, his vocals are still amazing, but it just doesn't compare to when they were working together. I wonder why they disbanded?
