A thread where you can say anything you like, good or bad, about our dear Dr. Jack Sheppard.
First off I'd like to say that Jack is my favorite character. I just like his mannerism and his countenance, you know?
In any case, about tonight's episode, Do No Harm.
I can only admire the way he fought for Boone's life, the personal sacrifice there and the ingenuity. He gave up so much blood so that Boone would have a chance that he was walking around looking about ready to kick the bucket himself. I know he must have been scared as hell, but he kept relatively cool, until everything started to go wrong. He lost his mind pretty quick then, eh? I also have to thank God for sun. She managed to try and keep him grounded for the duration. Jack must be incredibly upset for the loss of Boone's life. I just think he's going about Locke in the wrong way. He should at least get the story straight before killing him. Thoughts?
My heart goes out to him for this episode... heart

Alright here it is: I never really liked Jack, even though he is almost ready to guive his own life to save somebody else's. I just think that he's to "I'm the doctor, I rule the island because I'm so hot.." kinda personality. Though after trying to save Booney, then hes gain abit of place in my heart whee . Though what I hate is that somehow, they almost always link the episode to Jack {Kate too}..I mean even if he's not the main thing in the episode..
Yeah That's about it.

Despite my pro-Jack position, I can totally see where you're going with that. I blame the producers. They let Jack take over when he's not needed in an episode. I just think that everyone else puts him on the "I'm the doctor, I rule the island because I'm so hot," kind of pedestal. I mean, they all rush to him when the smallest thing goes wrong... it's notl like he wants that kind of attention persay... Still, I repsect your position here. 3nodding

I have really loved Jack since the first episode. He struck me as a character I wanted to know more about. I really became attached to his character after he wouldn't give up on trying to save Charlie. ((Because if he would have died...I would be mad... mad )) Then with the whole Boone thing, he is definately someone you would trust your life with.

I love Jack.
He is probably my favorite character, Sayid pending.
He is a wonderful, caring person, and a (reluctantly) great leader. The thing that makes him such a great leader is his willingness to listen to others. There is no dictatorship on the island, and Jack takes in the viewpoints of his fellow survivors. For example, when they were preparing to take down Ethan, Jack had that talk with his "crew" (if you will), and respected the opinions of his team (Locke being the elder wiseman, Sayid being his second in command etc).
I just think that they do a great job of making him a compasionate leader, and a very huggable guy. Though I've always been a fan of the nice guy with daddy issues. sweatdrop

I've loved Jack from the beginning. He's just always come off as a great person, and a leader not unlike Aragorn of Lord of the Rings in his modesty, courage, and selflessness. I don't think he's domineering on the island, and he often does snap when put under pressure from the other survivors, being the only doctor. "Do No Harm" emphasized that wonderful humanity in him--but even I'm getting a bit tired of so many Jack-centric episodes. xp It was heartbreaking to see him about to chop Boone's leg off, evidently as painful an act for him as it would obviously be for his patient.

He's been that way for so long that he has trouble NOT being like that, even when he tries not be like that. That's why his dad was able to manipulate him so easily in "All the Best Cowboys..." He was telling Jack exactly what Jack wanted to hear, right?

Exactly. ^^ I remember when he was stuck in the cave with Charlie, and said, "Hey, I'm no saint either." For some reason, it just struck a chord with me.
I can also relate. People expect me to be perfect in school all the time, expect me to know everything and get everything right. As much as I know that they don't mean anything by it, it gets on one's nerves, you know?

Everyone always looks to me for answers for homework and I'm just like "hey! I'm just like the next guy, I'm not special. Lay off!" Y'know?

Estelyn I never let people copy my answers, just because I'm a prude like that. xd See, you're intelligent whereas I'm a human doormat. As for Jack, he's the opposite of doormat. He's in control and doesn't let anyone walk all over him. I like that. I need someone like that. Jeez, I wish I was a survivor... heh... heart

This is my marker. I have something to say about this! But I don't want to forget that I do. Have something to say.
