Mephistophelian Sociopath
Backward corners, desolate drives... Twisting walks, crooked buildings and forever crowded streets. This is the city of Atlas, where night prevails in the minds of even the innocent. Atlas, a city like any other, is overpoplulated, polluted, grimy and self-centered. Hardly a day passes where the sun is not covered in black clouds. The people, they walk their ways, this path leading to another, this trail just the same as the last. A city so loud and bustling, not a soul stops to speak with one another. They are strangers to even themselves, in the lost city of Atlas. Mistrust, deceit and indecency run as free as the winds. Each person is nothing but a secretive con artist with nothing to lose... What about you? What is your story through these monotonous tales of deceit? Who are you in this lost city of Atlas? Be prepared to tell your tale. And be prepared for the alleyways.

In these times of lies, who can you trust...

Somewhere, a bird was sure to be chirping in the morning breeze. Just, perhaps, ten thousand miles away in a less populated city where the breeze wasn't the cause of a HoverCar just passing overhead. Only 6:30 in the morning and the city was already underway as though it were fresh into the afternoon. People going to work, people leaving work, people looking for the daliy fix of boring life in a gray city known to the gray world as Atlas. High and far away in a tall apartment complex, a window was ajar. Not the smartest thing to do when keeping in mind the rising homicide rates of the city. In the feigned breeze, the window moved, quietly smacking up against the metal of the frame in sat in. Not quite enough noise to rise the sleeping figure, though just enough to make the body toss and turn. A grumble every now and then came from the mess of sheets that piled on the figure, while the window went on and on, just kissing the metal. Outside, a HoverCar zoomed by, breaking the speed limits and causing a HoverCop to wind down from up above to give chase. The noise was unbearable for the half asleep person. A shout of contempt pierced the dark apartment as sheets were thrown and windows were slammed shut. Not even the shut sheet of glass could block the droning noise of the robotic city.

Through the dark and cold of the apartment, the gumbles rose and fell, some followed with sharp curse words, some followed with shouts of lights. Finally, a white tube flickered on, bathing the long room in a bluish tint. Indeed, the room was long, long and littered with a thousand messes from years of humanity. A bed in the back corner, a kitchen segment closest to it, followed by what could be a living room and a giant bay window a the opposite end. All was made of gray metals and black woods. In the pale light, the man found what he sought. A rather large switch with a sarcastic handle attached. He threw it down. A click and a hum later, white light poured from the tall ceiling. It looked like the laboratory of a mad scientist.

Mephistophelian Sociopath
The crazed man that stood in the wake of the blinding light was, by first impression, quite striking. Strong, yet thin. Good height, not too tall, not a midget. Omniscient eyes. The eyes of piercing, electric blue, the sort of blue that flowed with light, changed in the weather and melted into the color of his clothes. His face was sharp, his chin seemingly from an anime character. His lips, thin yet perfectly so. Blue hair, the near same shade of watery blue as his eyes, framed his angular face. More so, it distrupted it, giving his figure an unsettled, even frightening appearence. Nevertheless, he was a striking person by standards. With a pointed nose, he sniffed the air for the scents of what should be breakfest. Alas, no smell of toast. A flash of anger crossed his flowing eyes and his thin, yet so powerful legs stomped over to his automatic toaster to inspect the issue. It was always the same, it never worked. He brushed his lengthening hair from his face and gave a gutteral groan. Another day of making his own breakfest, wonderful.

In the laziness instilled by his rude awakening, he decied against food this morning. A skipped breakfest never hurt anyone. In fact, it never hurt at all, seeing as he had never ate a bite of breakfest his whole life. Taking in a deep breath, he slowly dragged himself over to his wooden wardrobe. His clothes for the day included that characteristic blacks. Neat, dark slacks, a tight fitting black shirt, though covered with a loose white sweat jacket. The white bothered him greatly, the contrast, though, was beautiful. Still, he wished for a black jacket.

Outside, clouds of rain began to gather. A gentle smile crossed this man's face. Rain...

( yeh finally posting XD )

Sitting inside the closed bar, the younger female wavedher hand infront of her face, getting the smoke away. She sighed softly finishing off her water. She pushed her long brown locks of curly hair from her face, letting her slightly tanned skin become exposed to whoever was sitting near her. She then looked up and stared at the ceiling.

"You know what you need Maura?" A man behind the counter washing a glass looked to the green eyes female. "You need to get a boyfriend, and get laid." He laughed at her some. "You're a great girl, you shouldn't be dancing in a place like this.. you should be wearing a skirt suit, working as a lyawer or something."

The girl blinked and she looked up to the man. "That lucky male, better be kinky in the bed." She murmurred softly and then yawned pushing off her seat and she pulled her skirt down some. "I'd love to have something like that... maybe I should. Go back to school or something and get a masters... I love dancing but really not like this." Maura started to ponder the idea. She had the assets for this place, but ... thing about it, being in the corprate world looking like she did.

She shouldered her bag and she waved to a few people as she stepped outside, pushing the door open. The brightness hurt her eyes an she cringed. But soon they adjusted and she looked over toward the same apartment building that the said crazed man lived, and she saw the clouds.

"This might be a fun... Playing in the rain..."

((Yipee!))

A rustic adventure down the ancient elevator to the ground of the wet street proved to be, as always, quite boring. The patter of feet against the pavement as they seeked out shelter from the droplets, just a minor thought in the recesses of his mind. Sounds of a city, just bunk. But the rain... The sweet, musty scent of water eons old. Beautiful, silver droplets only Gods could contemplate, the perfection of humanity rolled into one, timeless drop. Rain. He twirled about in the rain. It was soothing, the tingle of freshly melted ice over his body. The white jacket found its way off his chest, allowing his pale arms to be exposed. Freezing daggers tore at his skin, torturous beauty... Only the most demented and dark mind could fully appretiate the sky's blood. And he rejoiced in its puddles, he bathed in its life. Satanic love, it was the most harmonious melody to his foresaken ears...

Being the only one stupid enough to fully enjoy the downpour, he crossed the abandoned street in a cloud of ectasy. Truly, this was bliss. Today, where was he headed? Yes, the art supply store. Again, he had run low on blue and red paints. He needed more. And a certain brush or two, just to extend his collection and cut down on his paper towel usage. Paper towels, he remembered. He needed a few rolls of those. And a canvas to paint on, he just might need a few of those.

His legs carried him down the pavement, his eyes up in the sky. It was a perfect day, so long had it been since the last real wet rain. But, life had its ironies. In his delight of the sky, he had not noticed his path. His body collided with a metal trash can that stood just outside an alleyway. Trash splattered against the soaking walk, the can making the most horrid clanging racket. He cursed aloud.
"s**t!" In his surprise, he leapt back and was caught in a tangle of his own feet. His back slammed against the concrete with a force that could reckon with the clang of the can. He wheezed and winced and, wisely, chose to remain on the pavement for a spell. Afterall, he felt slightly disoriented.

Muara had been walking down the street. Her outfit getting soaked. she didn't care. When she got home she was going to shower... and relax. she off in a daze heading down the street when she heard a stratling clang of a crash can and she herself jumped some. She looked around for the source and then she saw the blue haired person. She tilted her head.

Something that day was different. Normally she would have been like everyone else in that city, just look and walk on, but she didn't. She walked over toward him and she bent forward lightly, her wet top clung to her body, outlining the bra she wore... it wasn't the most, comfortable feeling in the world. She extended her hand to him. "You alright? That was some noise."

Mephistophelian Sociopath
A far off voice called him back to the realm of the concious. Oh, but how he wanted to sleep on that pavement and feel the cold rain patter on his chest... Like a gentle lover resting her head on his pale, strong breast... But, the voice showed concern. He did not wish to concern the world with his petty wants, or, needs. He opened his striking blue eyes and, though their daze, saw a woman reaching out to help him. Not being one to question the motives of humanity, he took her hand and stood, swaying slightly. Odd, someone as pretty as her would bother to help a stranger like him...
"Erm..." he began, the classic way to begin anything, "Thanks." The feeling of being an idiot was sure to come quickly. Ah, there it was. His pale, flawless face turned slightly pink. Such an oaf... It was so... Unusual for someone like him.

(I hope you don't mind, I'm going to give her a general use of magic for random things.)

Maura blinked at him, her eyes watched his, they were brillant against the dull surroundings... She had helped him up without really knowing, then when he started to speak, she blinked a few times and she shook her head coming back to reality. "Oh, thats not a problem. I was walking, and the noise startled me, and then i saw you on the ground." She smiled softly. She had waved her hand.

Without any real noise, the trash can he had knocked over stood and all the trash was inside of it again. That was something that happened with maura, strange things... She knew what they were.

Looking back at him she saw him blush and she laughed a little. "Whats wrong?" She smiled some. "You're blushing..."

"Erm..." he mumbled again, his face slowly dying away from the slight redness, "I just... I never trip over things, that's all. Caught me off guard..." Such a meager excuse, but slightly true. His inner ear must be off today. Never, never ever, did he trip over things. Why, the last time he had tripped over something it was... Wait a second. Did the trash can just move? He glanced in its direction, then glanced back at the woman that stood before him. Two came together with two and he smiled.
"Well, today just gets stranger and stranger. What might be your name? Forgive the improper introduction, but I am Astris."

((Pressed for time and brain. Must go use the restroom, fix my painting ad go to piano. Arrh.))

She looked at him, watching his eye movment. She cursed herself for being so careless. She'd have to be much more careful in the future. The general public, never noticed these kind of things. "I'm Maura... I was just comming from work, sorry for my appearance..." She laughed some.. and smiled. "Its lovely to meet you Astris." She pushed her hand into her hair, and she pulled it back from her face and then it jsut fell back.

"It is strange day... I've been waiting for it to rain. Then it does, and I meet a handsome stranger in an alley." She laughed a bit and she looked up into the sky for a moment.

"Maura, it is lovely to meet you on such a rainy day. Do you like the rain? It is a wonderful thing, I must say... If I do say so myself, it makes me feel rather rewarded..." he trailed off, not noticing her compliment of his appearence. His thought hit the ground once more. There he went, trailing off again, staring into the sky... What an inconsiderate thing of him! He should at least treat this stranger with a bit more respect. Looking towards her, he saw her eyes up in the clouds too. He laughed in spite of himself.
"Well, I haven't the slightest clue where you might be off to, but I was just heading to the convenience store and the to the Art Supply place on 21st Street. Um... I guess, I shall see you around then?" What else could he say?

"Yes.. I love the rain." Once he continued to talk she blinked back down and she nodded at him. "Oh, yes of course, sorry, I didn't mean to keep you." She laughed softly and she took a step back onto the sidewalk. "There was somethingvery familair about the rain..." She raised a brow. She nodded some. "Yes, I do hope to meet you again." She knew the idea was very unlikely. But, one could hope. She waved lightly at him before stepping into motion and heading toward her own apartment just down the street.

She wasn't one to work, far from her home because she waled everywhere. But for some reason she felt that, he was following her. She would look back several times, but nothing. She blinked some and the rain no longer felt, very cold, if anything, seemed warm and much more inviting. "Silly..." She laughed, pulling out her key and she went to unlock the hall door.

He watched her step down the street in a graceful way that only something infused with magic could hope to accomplish. He let his breath out slowly, feeling the drops of rain soak through his clothing like warm, forgiving blood... He grinned and started down the street, his mind still wondering. Why, oh why, had he tripped over the can? It was so unlike his natural grace. He always knew ahead of time what was to come, his eyes were always so alert and ready. What had happened? But, alas, there was to restful time to ponder. He had to go buy a few things. Always, getting a few things for his purpose in life: painting.

The store was small, although well stocked for just a corner spot. Its doors were right along the busy sidewalks of the inner city. Skyscrapers towered over him, watching his every move. Yet, it didn't disturb him. He was used to the way they stared at his every move, how they swayed so dangerously in the winds. The trip to the store got him only a roll of paper towels and a few packages of frozen foods. Out on the road again, he walked a few blocks to the Art Supply store, a dingy neglected place nearest an alleyway. Cats yoewed at his appearence and dove for cover from the rain. He could only chuckle at the irony. Sadly, his love for cats could not surpass their hate of him. Though he laughed, he cried internally.

The store was musty smelling. The air conditioner was long broke and the employees long quit. Only one die-hard worker was left. Robert was his name and oh how the man could paint. The walls were covered in his impressions of the city at dawn, twilight, night time... The square at the Christmans Festival, the roads at high noon, the beauty of the car crash... His face was quite twisted, needless to mention. He approached Robert, a smirk on his face.
"Aye, I'll guess what yah need, laddie. Reds, blues, extra hog hair, six'een by eleven canvas. I had 't wa-ay 'fore yah even hit this 'treet." Robert was quite noticeablely psychic. Astris grinned and silently paid for his purchase. Robert, being a generous guy, slipped him an extra tube of brown but naught without his reason.
"Laddie, use more browns in the shadows." he winked with his tip and sent Astris off back into the rain. Neither was bothered by Robert's left out suggestion of an umbrella. He knew, afterall.
