So I don't know how many of you have ever heard of The Day of Silence before. The Day of Silence, a project of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) in collaboration with the United States Student Association (USSA), is a student-led day of action where those who support making anti-LGBT bias unacceptable in schools take a day-long vow of silence to recognize and protest the discrimination and harassment -- in effect, the silencing -- experienced by LGBT students and their allies.

Yea yeah, I copy and paste. Oh well. I'm not creative right now.

Anyway, I am just wondering how many of you all have heard of it, and if you have, are you participating?

but i never seen it done anywhere~
ever~
but i remember that there was a thing after that~
something bout some christianity group comes in~
but i think thats wat i heard from a friend~

i can try.. i would like to do something nice like that but unless i sleep all day i dont know if i can keep my mouth shut.. well ill give it a try smile or ill just get a shirt that says rock on all you wonderful LGBT!! biggrin oh and ive never heard of it before! but i will try and spread the magic wink thanks for sharing pinky pie!

Pinky, can you tell us what it was like? How did people react?

Well, most people I was with Wednesday were very supportive of what I was doing. (: Many said they were going to join in, but they usually didn't. xD The best part about my day was that I only had one class... and it's a lecture so you don't have to do any talking anyway. xP

Probably a funny thing about not talking is that you can't answer thephone. And when both of your phones are ringing at the same time, you almost feel guilty you aren't picking them up. xDDD

The only opposition I faced was here on Gaia, because apparently everyone who isn't for it is against it in the GD. D:<

Oh well. (: It was a successful day, but not as eventful as past years.

oh i found out wat that christian group day was called~
it was called "The day of truth"~
kinda strange that christians go agianst the day of silence~
saying that it was wrong to be bi, gay, or lesbian~
if gives christians a bad name~
so very sad~
