what is it about hayao miyazaki that he can make such beautiful movies? truthfully, romantism is not only about love. it is a dream, something that you truely wish could one day happen. i think that it is wonderful that such a man could inspire such a dream in the minds of others.
if you agree or disagree, please support your statement. what was the last miyazaki film you saw and what did you honestly think about it.

DUDE!! HOW DID I MISS THIS TOPIC?!?!?!
I love Miyazaki's films. I really do. I haven't seen all of them though. Just Howl's Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke. I think there's one more but I can't remember it.
Anyway, I admire him so much for making such beautiful movies all the time. And never losing his touch either. Castle in the Sky was from 1984 I believe or somewhere around that and Howl's Moving Castle was just last year. And yet, both of them are equally as awesome.
They really are dreams and I wish I lived in those worlds (like Princess Mononoke).
Last one I saw was Howl's and to be honest, I saw it once half a year ago and I don't remember much about it sweatdrop

MIYAZAKI-SAMA is my GOD. <3
I orgasmed when I heard Howl's English dub voice. D;
I think Princess Mononoke was his best one, because of the superbly crisp and detailed animation and underlying themes.
D: I sound like I'm in Lit class, or something.

I totally agree with you!! That is so deep! And I simply ADORE deep things!
I watched Princess Mononoke. I liked it alot. And in the end, the two of them didn't end up together. I thought that was a nice twist.

Yessss... ;____;
I cried at the end when Setsuko died. Poor baby. It shows that in war, no one wins.

Waiting for Howl's Moving Castle was like hearing that Sirius is miraculously coming back in the sixth Harry Potter-- hope and bated breath. I, being desperately in love with Diana Wynne Jones, pretty much freaked out. Howl's Moving Castle is, was, and forever will be my favorite book.
Watching the movie was a terrible let-down. They didn't screw up one or two things, as many do in the transition from fiction to screenplay, Miyazaki screwed up the entire damn movie. My commendments for making a good movie, but he could have called it something else entirely and no one would have made the connection between Howl's Moving Castle and that.
I won't list all the faults, because that would be spoiling, but it is sufficient to say that the movie made me pretty damn mad. If it ever becomes an actual movie, I only hope to God that it's a grain more accurate than the poor recreation Miyazaki dared to screen.
On the other hand, I loved Spirited Away. Very good motion picture.

phoenix_heart true it was very different and i do dearly love the book but i still thought it was pretty a awesome movie....... I'm a hardcore 'by the book' person. D: The Harry Potter movies made me mad too. I don't like reading books then watching them completely misrepresented by movies. That's why I either read the book or watch the movie-- I have never liked a movie and its book equally.
