Tori trotted along til she came to an open field. She was bored and no one she knew was about or at lest she thought. Giving a bored sigh she wanted to meet new soquili or at lest she her friends again. Giving a snort she went through the field to at lest try to find someone though eventually she had to go back to the herd like always though she did not want to at times.

Khairi was standing in the shade of a tall oak. He'd ran a long way, but needed a rest before returning home.
Returning home. He snorted softly and twitched his tail. To what? Ohanzee, while a friend, isn't company.
He stared out across the open field, lost in thought. The trees on the far side shimmered in heat waves. Behind him, deeper into the woods, he could hear the cool trickle of a stream.

Khairi didn't notice the mare sneaking up on him; he was thinking about leaving, in fact. He remembered, when he was very young, a home in the far mountains beyond the desert. Though they were cold at times, the air was so fresh, and his friends were there...
He shook his head. That was the past; it didn't matter now. Besides, he couldn't go back there...
Khairi flicked an ear and the sound of footsteps in the grass behind him.

At the tug on his mane, Khairi started and spun around. He relaxed when he saw the red and white mare. "Tori!" He grinned. "It has been a while."
He hesitated for a moment before replying with a shrug. "I've been ok. I haven't really been doing much." He thought about Death and felt a pang of sadness, but managed a smile.
"How have you been?"

Khairi smiled. "I was just thinking about the past." He shrugged. "I'm fine, really." He gave her a nudge and nipped her mane back.
"Why so bored? It's the middle of summer. There should be a lot to do..." Khairi's voice tapered off as he realized the irony of him saying that. "Of course, I've been bored as well. It seems like wherever I go, everyone else leaves." He laughed.
"But perhaps we can alleviate this boredom. Any ideas?"

Tori smirked. " i been bored since i rarely see anyone no more. but im glad i found you." she nipped back at him again. " and i see, but its good your fine." giving a chuckle she had the cunning smirk on her face. " hmmmm shall a race be fun enough to not be bored?"

Khairi grinned, and was suprised to find that it was sincere. "Another race, hmm? Last time you won, didn't you?" He quirked an eyebrow. "I supose that might keep boredom away for a little while."
He glanced around at the open field; it was surrounded by trees. "Where do you want to race to?"

Tori grinned thoughtfully. " i suppose your right about that but it was fun. and as to where, if im not mistacked there is a stream about here." she then smirked and winked at him. " i suppose we can race to there if your up to it."

Khairi raised an eyebrow and snorted. "If I'm up to it. Pah." He bucked playfully to show he had energy to spare. "You ask as if you doubt me." He nipped at her shoulder and trotted towards a tall beech tree.
"How's this for the starting point?" The blue stallion cast his gaze over the terain ahead. A trail he knew fairly well wound through the woods and lead to a small pond and stream. "To the brook then, and first one in the water wins?" He grinned.

Tori giggled and bit and nipped right back and followed. " i never doubted. and this is a fine starting point." she then smirked. " sure that works nicely." nipping at him once more, she bolted towards the brook. always one loving a race, she did not go too fast at first just to make sure he was coming.

Khairi grinned and sprinted forward, following the red and white mare. He could tell she wasn't going as fast as she could; her stride was shorter, her head up. His grin widened; he streched out his neck and lengthened his stride, hoping to suprise her and pass her while she was waiting for him to 'catch up'.
"Don't worry, I can keep up!" Khairi laughed as the wind whipped his words away.

Tori was not surprised at all with Khairi caught up and passed her alittle. smirking she lengthed her strided and went faster. " oh i know you can Khairi." still smirking she caught up to him in not time. she was us to running alot. nipping at Khairi's she grinned. " lets see if you can beat me this time."
