If you are planning on getting something and still arent sure dont let some of these stories completely scare you away.
Most will be just slight chances of things happening and rare to boot.

Guess im up first since I made this topic.
Well my only real mishap has been when I got my eyebrow pierced.
I had medium length hair and was coming while talking and the comb hooked into my piercing and kinda ripped it. Not completely out but enough to bleed and sting a lot. (It was just done that day) My friend who wanted to be a nurse and everything cleaned me up and then we went for a walk.
I think that was the main reason that I wanted to get my piercing taken out. Which I did like 2 weeks later I think... But now I miss it and want to get it redone.

I've only had one mishap, and it was as the result of not being careful. xd I was drying off after a shower, and caught my nosering on the towel. It yanked out. I'd only had the piercing for about a month and a half or so. It bled, and I tried to put it back in, but got lightheaded. My friend took me to another piercing shop (this was on a Sunday, and the place where I got it done was closed) and this lady had to use a gauging rod to put it back in. It killed. Seriously. Worse than the piercing itself.
But it was that, or wait for it to heal and then re-pierce.
And since, I've learned to be a lot more careful.

Mine would have to be a few years ago when I started to stretch my ears and my mom saw them. She asked me what they were and I told her, and she got pissed and ripped one out.
For about a year or so after that I didn't stretch. But now I'm down to an 8g again and I'm alright. My mom would kill me if she knew, but yeah. O.o

Only real mishap to speak of was playing with my tongue ring while it healed. It formed a ring of scar tissue underneath around the piercing, and it looked pretty funky, and I just know when I showed it to my piercer he wanted to slap the piss outta me and call me a moron. I even invited him to cuz I knew I deserved it. sweatdrop
Luckily I managed to force myself into stopping long enough for it to clear up and finish healing just fine.

I did an industrial on myself a while ago. One hole with a piercing gun and the other hole with one of my moms sewing needles... it doesn't hurt anymore, but it's having quite a hard time healing. sad

Well, this was pretty much all my fault for not being more careful with it, but here goes.
My friend's an apprentice right now and I work with him. When I mentioned some of the piercings I wanted, he said he had done some that had turned out fine. The one I got in particular was my tongue. I had seen pictures of some that he had done, and even knew a couple of them. So I took the plunge and had him do it. None of this was his fault mind you, I had some sort of allergic reaction to his sanitizer, he doesn't have an autoclave. The day after it was pierced, half of my tongue turned a dark purple color. So all in all, I spent about 150 bucks on a piercing I couldn't even keep. =X

About a month or so after I got my eyebrow done I took the bar out to clean it better and I COULDNT get it back in!!! I had to push really hard and it stung and I think it bled a little. It didnt even bleed when I got it pierced! Ive done that a few times though where it wont go all the way through.. pain...
The worst though was I was in the shower one morning and I touched my eyebrow and the whole barbell had fallen off and I searched franticly on the bottom of the tub. All I found was the ball that mush have unscrewed. I was so pissed because it was the very first barbell I ever had for my first real piercing! And that last ball was taunting me! I didn't have any extras that day too and I was almost to the point of tears. I had to put in fishing line for the day and it almost closed up. I bought a new barbell that night though and the balls are bigger!
I know this isnt the worst mis hap but it really effected me a lot. I was so scared.

Oh man....
I had my belly button pierced for about almost two years at this point and time. My friends and I about a year ago decided to hop the fence at King pool really late at night to go swimming. So, not only am I hopping the fence in a short skirt and flip-flops, my belly button piercing gets caught on the fence and rips.
Needless to say I have a scar. I was thinking of getting it re-done, but I'm iffy about it still because of the scar that is left, and I know my piercer has an issue with going over scars.
Another one...I had third holes in my lobes, and I was wrestling with my best friend at the time, he accidentally caught my ear in his shirt and ripped one of those holes. Quite the ride.

i dunno if this really counts, but it was kinda a stupid thing for me to do. i had just gotten my cartilage pierced earlier in the week, so it was still very tender, and i had a stud in. anyway, i put on some headphones to listen to music, but wouldn't you know it, the cord snagged on something and pulled the headphones off my head, which in turn caught my new earring and pulled it out. it didn't rip through or anything, it just popped the earing out, and hurt like a sonuvabitch. i carefully replace the earring and give it another go. headphones go on, all is well. i bend down to tie my shoelace. meanwhile, unbeknownst to me, the cord of my headphones works it's way under the toe of the other shoe. i pull my head up, shoe tying accomplished. and it happens again! off come the headphones, out pops the earring. followed my much cursing on my part. i replace the earring a second time, and decide to keep the headphones off for today. it seemed like a wise choice. ><

well, my first ever mishap was last night...
I got really depressed, and seeing as I was cutting anyways, I just started carving away and put one of the two designs into my skin (and inverted pentagram with an inverted cross at the center on my chest between my breasts)>
I was an idiot and cut from the outside-in instead of from the inside of the design out. I was doing fine till it started bleeding, then I lost track of where I had already cut, so the inside of the design is alittle bit off. It still looks good and everything, but its just kindof crooked...
regardless, its my favourite bod mod so far.

I got my eyebrow pierced just before I got a new job. My employer however did not appreciate it.
So he had me take it out. Every day for about 2 months I took it out before work and had to re pierce it every day after work to get it back in. The result of this was a nasty, nasty infection. So alas, I took it out.
Now it's healing nicely, but still two puncture scars remain on my eyebrow. As soon as they close I'm replacing the lost one with two more.

my only acceden was when i was haveing my band put in. i was originaly going to have iit put on my left arm but when the guy was putting in the second prong the first one ripped out. i have no idea haw it happened.

Ouch dude.
The weirdest thing that ever happened to me was a missing band for one of my plugs.
Turns out, a week later, as I was trying to put a horseshoes through the hole that the missing band was in the piercing. Very odd.
