Ballentine had tried several attempts at trying to get the girl back up to her normal self, however each attempt proved useless. Belinda was still quiet and lethargic, rarely did the child exert herself for anything. Ballentine was still confused, worried about what could have happened to her child. A bit of fresh air should help... right?
So there they were, at the park once more. Ballentine had brought the family out and was off trying to wrestle her children into behaving. Where was Belinda? The child was still where she was left, laying on a large blanket under a oak tree.
Had this been any other day, Belinda would be tackling anyone that attempted to get on the tire swing. Today? The girl laid on her belly, dozing off in the early summer heat. Every now and then she opened her eyes to look around, taking a casual glance for anything that might catch her eye.

Stretching out on the bench he had taken over, Ace yawned and gazed around. Summer was a marvelous time to be outdoors, and although at least ninety percent of the next few months would continue to be as mundane and repetitively warm and bright as today, he saw no reason for wasting such a pleasant afternoon inside.
Looks like some new faces have come to the park, he thought with a small smile as he took in each one. His eyes rested upon a young girl, dozing beneath a tree, and he wondered offhandedly where her caretaker was. It wasn't the best of ideas to leave a child unattended.

Feeling eyes upon herself, Belinda started to look around casually for who it was. She locked onto several people though seemed to glace over Ace quite a few times. Oh well...
As her mother called out to her, trying to get her to join the other children, Belinda just rolled over and showed her back. Really, if she wanted to play she'd have gone and done so. However playing in the park was just so.... She couldn't figure it out, but she just didn't want to.
Toss and turn, toss and turn. Not being able to get comfortable once more, the child sat up and began to pick out the daily gunk from between her toes. Ok, so now she finally realized why people wore shoes, she just hated them. As she made sure her little toesies were fine, she once more scanned the park.
This time her eyes fell onto Ace, glancing him over a bit. Well he looked kinda interesting. Raising a hand she'd watch him while scratching at her belly, mmm... She was kinda getting hungry too.

A woman called out to someone named Belinda, and the girl he'd been watching rolled over in a seemingly dismissive manner. Perhaps that was her name?
Ace leaned back against the green wood of the bench, one of his droopy cat-ears twitching slightly. He continued to watch Belinda with an odd sort of interest, and after a while he decided it was at least mildly safe to greet her. Waving his hand lazily but jovially, the corners of his mouth lifted into a warm, toothy smile.
"Hello there," he said, brushing his rediculously long tail along the dusty, lose dirt on the ground beneath him.

Belinda watched as the other stood and then began to walk on over. She felt a small knot in her stomach form, her mind screaming a reminder about stranger danger. Carefully she sat up right, crossing her legs Indian style as he came to a stop in front of her.
"H-hi." She muttered in return, "Don't get any funny ideas Mister. I can and will scream if I have to." And as if to prove her point Belinda drew in a deep breath, waited a moment, then released it in a small sigh. "So... Who are you Mister?" She asked, cocking her head to the side just a bit. Quickly she glanced around for where her mothers was in and when she needed the woman.

He raised a brow as she exhaled her deep breath. "Don't worry," he said with a wry smile, "I'm not going to hurt you or anything. Mind if I sit down?" He made a gesture towards the ground in front of her.
"My name's Ace. You looked kinda mopey, so I thought I'd come over and see what was wrong. Children should be out playing on a nice day like this, not lounging around."
