What? HELL no! You're not going off running some crazy bitches errands!
Karoko sighed and brought her hands to her face, shaking her head gently as her mothers voice echoed in her mind. She probably shouldn't have told her about the Eve thing. She didn't understand. Not that Karoko did.
She didn't understand this at all.
But if doing it would get things back to normal, that was fine with her. Though she'd been different recently, she'd been aware of it. Every time she tried to work, be it building something from scratch or even just fixing a clock, the smallest thing would distract her. That simply wouldn't do!
So, she'd do this 'task'. But it presented problems. Problems like Karoko being insanely shy and timid around strangers.
It's for the sake of the lab, she told herself determinedly. So I can keep working.
Where was she suppose to go though? Usually, the library, but that wouldn't be a good place for this since it was meant to stay quiet. Other than that, the bat Eden was naive about 'social hangouts'.
But there was one place she always heard her cousin talking about, or would hear about on TV: The mall. Lots of people went to the mall. Thus, so did she, and now sat on the curb to the parking lot, kicking her feet on the blacktop and staring at the sky.
This was a bad idea...

Exiting the mall with a huff and a wheeze, Qwertii almost didn't notice the collision about ten feet away. Taking a moment to stare in curiosity and confusion, Qwertti snapped herself out of her zombie-like state and strode over to see if she could offer some assistance.
Tucking a braid back behind her ear and dropping her single shopping bag [she wasn't much of a shopper], she bent down and offered a hand to the young girl first, giving the man a reprieving look. "Foolish!" She didn't even pause for pleasantries. "Practically mauling the kid! Ya' trying to murder? Hit an' run, perhaps? No, don't answer that." Qwertii grabbed Karoko's arm, somewhat roughly, though you could tell she was making an attempt to be gentle, and pulled her up. "You..uh..alright?"

Normally, Karoko was one to be more observant of her surroundings. It seemed all the Eden were 'off' lately, though. So, it wasn't that suprising she didn't take any notice of said young man until he'd barreled over her.
With a startled cry, the girl fell back, only to have a had shoved at her the next second and then have someone take her arm the one after that. "Um, yes ma'am, I'm alright," she offered, getting to her feet and brushing the oil-covered over alls off.

The poor fellow seemed rather frazzled. Rolling off Karoko he muttered an apology, looking more at the ground then the girl. He seemed about to say something else when Qwertii appeared.
Fair brow knitting in a frown he drew himself up to a sitting position, glaring indignately at the woman's words. "Hey! Look, I didn't mean to hit her alright? I just didn't see her sitting on the curb!"
What was a kid doing sitting at the edge of a parking lot anyhow, wasn't that rather dangerous?
[[Sorry for the late post, got really busy for a while with the start of summer school. n.n;]]

(Just going to keep going. ^^;; )
"I'm alright, really!" the Eden insisted, forcing a smile despite the ever-growing urge to frown. She didn't like it when people started arguing, much less about things that involved her. Maybe sitting there hadn't been a good idea...

"What am I? Old?" Qwertii waved formalities aside. "Not Ma'am. Just Qwertii." Turning back to the man, Qwertii's eyebrow rose as she gave him yet another reproving look. Choosing not to respond to the man, Qwertii returned to Karoko. "Well it's...good...you're alright. But what were you doing, sitting down in such a...dangerous...area by yourself anyway?" Blunt, as always. She crossed her arms, feeling rather generous today.
