i have a bichon frise named cotton, and he is very sweet and loves other dogs. he usually gets along with them, but we have never had another one in our home. we are thinking of getting another bichon, but we are afraid cotton might have to mark his territory in the house, if you know what i mean... he will be fine with the other dog, but is there any advice on how to make sure he doesn't pee all over everything?

Uh, that's more of a cat thing. Dogs usually get the idea to go outside once they've been properly housetrained.
Make sure you introduce the two dogs on neutral ground, so as to prevent any feelings of having to defend his territory in Cotton. While dogs don't usually feel the need to pee inside to mark their territory, they will sometimes act aggressively to defend it, especially unneutered males.

Well, our dog, Izzie (she has a self-titled topic) used to use the house as her own personal backyard, when we first got her. My parents used to smack her on the bottom (not hard, mind you!!!! Just enough to get the point accross 3nodding ) and tell her "No!" and after maybe 3 times, she stopped 3nodding heart But that doesn't work for every dog. And again, do not smack them hard!!! gonk
