If you're reading this, then you obviously got my PM. Welcome back to the guild! If you're wondering why I asked you to come back here, it was because I have some news for you all. First, though, let me get something out of the way: I am not reopining Halcyon's Demise or The Second World. At least not right now. I may do so in the future, but only if I see a strong interest. A lot of things have changed on Gaia and so I'm not really sure if anybody would be as excited about a literate RPG now that a lot of Barton Town's n00b-infested craziness has been taken care of.
But don't despair! I do have some good news. And that news is that last month I finished the first draft of The Second World novel. When I first conceived of TSW's world and storyline, I had always intended to make it into a novel and publish it, and turning it into a fun and popular RPG here on Gaia was actually sort of a spur-of-the-moment decision. But the enthusiasm that I saw from the people in this RPG really helped inspire me to get to work on a novel, and now, two years later, it's finished. It's first draft clocked in at 200,519 words, 298 pages, and fourteen chapters. Editing of the first draft is currently underway, and I hope to trim it down a bit and get it closer to 80,000 words. So far so good. I have 210 pages edited and counting. smile
Secotha has evolved a lot since you last saw it here in the guild, but I think by the time I'm finished with TSW-the-novel, it'll be pretty good. Naturally I'm nervous as all get-out because this is the first book I've ever finished in my entire life, but I have confidence as well. No deals of any kind have been made in regards to publishing, so for right now it's just me by myself with a computer and a red pen. If the impossible happens and it is accepted by someone to be published, it will probably be at least a year (if not several) before anything appears on shelves. (Or the internet) So don't hold your breath. But do be excited! biggrin This is a very cool thing that doesn't happen everyday. I may even post a teaser chapter or two for you all once it's finished. wink
Other news - I'd really like to revive this guild. For now I'd still like to avoid roleplaying, unless the response to that idea is really overwhelming, but it depresses me to see this thing we all worked so hard for just sit here and collect dust. Besides, I'm lonely. razz I want suggestions from everybody reading this as to what this guild should become. Post them in the new OOC chat thread, The Tipsy Faerie, or PM your thoughts to me directly. Thanks. smile Also don't forget to vote in the poll I've created showcasing my own ideas for what "Kuri's Guild" will become.
