This is frickin' sweet. This Toronto band called Lamia did a really good job emulating this Dir en grey song.
Lamia - [KR]Cube (Dir en grey cover)
Please post random bands playing songs of other J-Rock bands!

Being a huge fan of that song, I HAD to go watch...and I was mildly disappointed. ^^;; Mainly by the overall sound. They had some craptastical equiptment. >< -shoots the people who gave them crappy amps and a crappy mic- I also thought they went just a little too fast with some of the riffs 'n such. But, overall it was okay. I do applaud them for doing the best job at a Diru cover I've ever heard though! <3 Thanks for sharing! ^^

Same as Rei, I love that song, so I couldn't resist watching.
...
They get an A for effort.
Not to be harsh or anything (because the equipment did seem pretty shitty), but I really think they could have done better. They played it a little fast, and I really didn't care for the vocals at all.

Ne:Farious - Vocals are practically nonexistant. Instruments okay, but need work.
Resonance - Vocals still nearly nonexistant, but needs a lot of work. If a chick is going to emulate Kyo, she has to be loud and powerful! Instruments a bit better than before.
GothicDolls - Not bad. The audio seems a bit skewed from the camera, but otherwise, I think they did the best job.
EDIT: Rei said she'd watch em once her computer stops being a ********. D:

The Gothicdolls did a pretty good job. I like that hilarious Spanish guy before the first chorus in "THE FINAL".
I do vocals. Next year is the start of high school for me, and I hope to meet J-Rockers and play a Diru or D'espairsRay cover.
The Gothicdolls are inspiration to me, so is Lamia. But... Resonance and ne:farious are un-inspiration. gonk
Make sure Rei sees them as soon as possible! biggrin

I want to do vocals in a band too, but I need to have some lessons or I'll end up like the "Drain Away" chick. D: [Not that my voice is bad, but I'm pretty quiet/lack power.]
I've got a few clips hosted somewhere, I can dig them up if anyone is interested. >.>;; [Not J-Rock though... well, I think I have "Forever Love" by X Japan. But the rest is J-Pop, like Ayumi and Do As Infinity.]

Yay for cover bashing! XD;; -feels like a total b***h now-
Kay...so....I watched em... Watched the one that was supposed to be a cover for The FINAL...And I think I died a little inside... The FINAL is like, tied for favorite Diru song with Cage and Kodou...and Kami-sama, I think I cried when I watched that.
ne:farious...yeah...glad their an ex now. and Resonance...Kay, first off, they suck. They suck so hardcore that babies cry tears of blood. The female vocal? WAY too high. If you're gonna have female vocals, like Vampi said, they need to be loud and strong. AND ALSO NOT HIGH PITCHED. You gotta be freaking kidding me. When I sing, sometimes my voice cracks, but DAMN. I could do a better job! Of course...I have the majority of Diru lyrics memorized and my vocal range when it comes to singing is the same as Kyo's...but still! ><; I have to say out of all these covers, the [KR]cube one was the best. They actually tried. x__x;
I think I'm gonna go curl up in a ball and cry now. And then break out my bass guitar because I'll be damned if I can't get that bass line for Cage down! >< Vampi! Force your boyfriend to learn Cage! WE MUST MAKE A COVER FOR IT IN THE FUTURE!
This does not include the covers from DuelJewel and down cause I haven't looked at them yet. I'm hoping they won't make me cry tears of emense sadness. ^^;

Well, listen, rather... it's just audio. [WAV format] For now, I'll link you guys to "Suteki da ne" from Final Fantasy X. It's not the whole song, but just a short snippet of it (as are the rest of my recordings). Actually, "For Fruits Basket" is the whole TV-size version... Other ones I've got hosted are: "Fukai Mori" by Do As Infinity (Second ending theme to Inuyasha) "Dearest" by Ayumi Hamasaki (Third ending theme to Inuyasha) "For Fruits Basket" from Fruits Basket "Hohoemi no Bakudan" from Yuyu Hakusho "Moonlight Densetsu" from Sailor Moon "Forever Love" by X Japan (Ending theme to X: the Movie) "Pegasus Fantasy (Parapara)" from Saint Seiya "The Real Folk Blues" from Cowboy Bebop "Real Emotion" from Final Fantasy X-2
-dodges rotten vegetables and various other things flung in her general direction.-

Kirimoto Wow. Is it played with a band, or just you singing? Just me singing, with the mp3 playing quietly in the background.
