Mchele had woken near his cubs that morning and once again he couldn't help but look proudly at them. But others would probably start to wonder where he'd gotten to and what he was up to. His mother for one and he knew she'd probably be ecstatic when she found out about Trina, Kilua and Koto. She loved cubs and he always got the feeling she was disappointed about his choice of mate-preference because then she would never get any grandchildren. Well now she would!

And then there was Ausha who might wonder about his whereabouts. After confessing his feelings to him Mchele hadn't seen him for a little while. Now he had something else to confess to him too... Mchele wondered how he might take it.

Well there was no time like the present. Kizuka and the cubs seemed asleep and peaceful so they wouldn't be concerned if he visited the graveyard for a bit...

Getting up quietly, he slipped out of the cave and headed for the pride boarder.

While Mchele's departure was reletively silent, it did cause at least one pair of eyes to blink open. Kilua stirred slowly and looked out at the place her father had been. He'd gone? But where?

Curiosity got the better of the little striped cub and she pulled herself out from the tangle that was her brother and sister. She wanted to see where dad was going!

A fluttering tail flickered underneath 'Kota's nose as the little pale female moved and he gave an uncomfortable squeek closely followed by an unhappy sneeze which rolled him from the comfort of the rest of the family. Out in the middle of the den he blinked lazily and looked out in to the bright and sunny day.

Blinking to clear his gaze the black and only male cub of the litter clambered to his paws and with a tiny running tackle leapt after his sister capturing the little white and pink furball in a flurry of black "wuryagoin'?" he questioned before gnawing his sisters ear his tiny stub of a tail flickering back and forth. He had hardly noticed the receeding figure that was their father so intent was he upon hyjacking his sister and playing.

Ausha had spent most of his morning attempting to catch himself breakfast. Never a very adept hunter he had to settle for smaller prey than most lions would catch if he caught anything at all. This morning, through some stroke of sheer luck, he had managed to snag a gazelle. The thing was all muscle and bones but it would do. After eating his fill, he had lounged around a bit, somewhat warily, after all, in these grassy lands he was on Pridelander turf.

Still, a lion had to eat.

After grooming himself so clean that his fur practically glowed, he picked up the one untouched flank in his jaws and set off along the borders, intending to keep an eye out, saving him another patrol later on.

Besides, he didn't want to be ambushed by hyenas while alone out here.

Bakhti was tottering around, she had found it impossible to kep up with her children lately and slowly her body was tiring. She had heard of the queen getting ill and Bakhti was worried that her children were going to be the death of her too.

She raised her head as she saw a grey lion hunt in the lands, she hadn't seen him before and curiosity had got the better of her. She stretched and rushed over to him, weary that he might attack, after all, she didn't know him!

"Excuse me!" She called as she neared him, she wanted to see someone new, try and forget abut Mbali and Mbaya for a bit!

Trotting at a comfortable pace, the honey coloured lion headed reasonably quickly towards the place where he'd almost always found Ausha. Hopefully he'd be near the edge of the Pridelands today as well.

After a short while his destination could be seen on the horizon... along with a familiar spot of white. His excitement grew. Ausha! Surely it was! It made Mchele happy just thinking about seeing him. But then came the little nagging of nervousness. What exactly was he going to say? Surely Ausha would understand Mchele's period of uncertainy in regards to his feelings.

He slowed, thinking over just how he was going to explain things, and that was when he spotted the other lion-shaped blob of colour. That colour was also unmistakable since it was the exact same shade as his own. His mother... she was here talking to Ausha? Mchele couldn't help but feel a kind of terror. What was she saying to him? What was going on? She wasn't going to chase him off or anything, was she?

Completely unconcerned by her father's dramas, Kilua followed secretly behind. But her progress was hampered by a tackle from behind and she squeaked as she was bowled over.

"Kotaah!" She whined and then lowered her voice quickly. "I'ma being quieet and spying on dad..." She kicked back with her hind legs, trying to dislodge him and pulling her ear free. Normally she wouldn't mind a tussle and even now she nearly forgot about Mchele and would have been engrossed with playing with her brother. But this was exciting! Dad didn't even know she was following, heehe!

She nipped back at him and pushed his nose away with her paws. "Wanna come? Gotta be quieet though."

'Kota gave a little growly grin as he was disslodged and was about to tackle his sister again, he enjoyed wrestling with his siblings he was a real little boyish chracter. When she spoke though he turned his onyx coloured eyes to the direction of his travelling father. Whever was he going?

With a cheeky grin the little black cub gave an affirmative nod "okies lets go!" he smiled his teeny tiny black tail twitching behind him as he bounded off after his fathers receeding figure."where ju think he's going?" the black cub questioned a curious look in his dark eyes. Of course he couldn't even see the other lions on the horizon so intent was he upon stalking his father as quietly as possible.

Ausha was on edge, that much was apparent from his posture as he moved, as such it wasn't much of a surprise that when he heard Bakhti speak nearby that he almost had a heart attack. Letting out a terribly girlish scream he spun round to face her, panic etched all across his face. He was clearly not a pridelander just based on the multitude of bone decorations he wore and the stolen mane ruff.

He was certain that here was the lead lioness of a group of huntressess from the pridelands who had come to deal harshly with the poachers who'd been leeching these lands for the last year or so.

Not even noticing that Bakhti actually appeared rather amiable, Ausha drove right in with his usual drama. Flicking his bangs of those chilly blue eyes of his he took a deep breath, before beginning.

"Oh HELLO there DARLING. Lovely to meet you, heres the deal, I wasn't stealing from your lands, oh no, you see I found this leg just LYING on the ground and I thought OH GOODNESS someone must have dropped this. So you see I was bringing it back to see if any of your hunters had lost it or something, I'd NEVER steal around here."

Not feeling this was quite enough he added.

"Uhm and I know a pridelander. HisnameisMcheleandifyouhurtme I'll, I'll, TELL HIM."

Bakhti was a bit taken a back that was for sure. "There is no problem with you eating on these lands, the King and Queen take most lions." She let out a small laugh though as he rambeled but then Mcheles name was mentioned.

"Mchele?" She tilted her head sideways and smiled, "I know him very well..." She wouldn't say anything about being his mother as of yet, she wanted to know who this male was after all Mchele had spoken about a lion who he felt strongly before, she in a way hoped it wasn't this lion, she just had to look at him to think he was definatly strange, but she would try not to judge, not yet.

Pausing for a second, Mchele watched from afar. He couldn't hear them clearly enough to make out what they were saying but Ausha's voice grew loud in places and his stance could hardly be described as comfortable and at-ease.

Well the Pridelander couldn't just stand here while things got awkward for his partner! Although how they would turn out when he showed up was anyone guess...

"Ausha!" He called with slightly more cheerfulness in his voice than was natural. He quickly bounded up and came to a stop so that he stood closer to the white male than his mother. "And uhh... mum... Hi!" He smiled nervously. "I was just coming to see you Ausha." Somehow with Bakhti here too it made it twice as hard to tell them about his recent litter.

"I ah, don't think you two have met... This is Bakhti, my mum. And this is Ausha... the one I told you about mother...." He introduced them carefully, hoping his mother would realise who he meant.

Kilua pulled herself up again once Kota had gotten off her and quickly bounded over so she was keeping pace with the black cub. "Dunno..." She whispered, instinctively keeping her head low. "Maybee... to anodder waterhole? Or to that big rock?" She really had no idea but she knew what she was going to do once they got there. "When he stops we should run up and pounce on 'im! He'll be soo surprised we found 'im!"

'Kota nodded aggreement "hehe yah he'll be sooo surprised we founded him" The black cub grins showing those white milky teeth.

At last their father seemed to stop though and he looked to his sister. There seemed to be other lions there and neiither of them wer ehis mother! Did that mean there were other big lions in the world? The thought facinated him. Still he didn't think about it too long before he started to run head long towards his father. if they were going to tackle him they had better do it wquick before somone spotted them! Other wise it wouldn't be a surprise now would it?

Ausha gave Bakhti a suspicious stare for her words. Surely no pride had that mch food and luxury they could afford to welcome scavengers into their lands? Perhaps the tales of the pridelands were true. He flicked an ear, not really expecting this lioness to kow Mchele.

"Uh yeah. Well. I know him." he gave the grasses a sidelong look, considering making a run for it, or at least considering that until he heard a familiar voice, one that made him wonder if he'd been thinking too hard about the other lion and somehow imagined his voice.

But no, Mchele bounded into veiw, as brilliant in the prideland sunlight as a god. He couldn't help but gape a bit, his brain full of nothing but little stars, at least until he caught what had been said.

"YOUR MOTHER?" Ausha leapt as if he'd been stung, discreetly placing himself behind Mchele. "Uhm.....Hello there Miss Bakhti." the normally arrogant prince stammered, bowing his head once. "Nice to meet you."

Still, he couldn't help but greet Mchele and from where he sat he gave the yellow lion's tail a squeeze with his own.

Bakhti was slightly confused with this strange lion but when her son came into view a soft smile crossed her maw.

Listening to her son talk then made her realise what in a way she feared. She had accepted her sons choice of partner and that he wouldn't give her any grandchildren and she had always wondered what it would be like to meet her boys boyfriend but now she did, she wasn't quite sure what to say or do.

Ausha's response to her was amusing to say the least.

"It is nice to meet you Ausha, I have wondered what you are like for a while. Mchele told me about you." She spoke softly and calmly in her mothering voice and looked the male over.

((Bane - can Ausha's marking be seen under all his stuff? Just I was wondering.. coz Bakhti would probably recognize it from Masuka!))

Mchele cringed slightly at the shock in Ausha's voice. Poor guy, what a way to get introduced to one of his parents, no warning at all. He hoped his alternative mate hadn't already been put off by his mother. Even though Bakhti was as nice as any mum could hope to be, he knew this was probably hard for her to accept too. In a way he was glad he'd shown up when he had. At least this way he could hear what they said and see how they acted towards each other.

"I guess I should have asked you to come visit my parents sooner." He turned his head to give Ausha an appologetic grin and quick reassuring nuzzle. "Mother did ask me when she'd get to meet you... I guess it fate decided it was going to be today huh?"

Turning back to the older female he began to elaborate. "Ausha lives near here, just on the outskirts of the graveyard, you see. I told him he was welcome to come and hunt here when he was hungry or just visit. He is close to me and plenty of other lions in the pride invite their partners and friends here... I assumed it'd be alright-"

As Kota charged ahead towards the group of lions Kilua was quick to follow. She didn't want to miss out on surprising her dad! Sprinting as fast as she could she didn't care too much if she was seen or about the other older lions that were there. After she'd greeted her father with a pounce she would be able to find out about them.

"Rarrr!!" She yelled in her best attempt at a roar, throwing herself at his side and grappling one of his forelegs with her own tiny legs. "Hahaha! We caught you!" The pink and white cub rolled playfully onto her back between his paws.

Mchele jumped at the small impact and looked down at his children is complete surprise. For a moment he couldn't do anything or say anything. First his love and his mother bumping into each other. And now two of his new cubs literally crashing into them too. It was just like two stampeding herds running towards each other and Mchele was just waiting for the inevitable pile-up.

"Kilua! Kota! What are you doing here?" He didn't sound angry, just disbelieving.

"Heehee! Bet you didn't even know we'd followed ya dad!" Kilua giggled, still rolling around with her paws in the air. She swiped happily at Mchele with one paw and laughed again.

And once Mchele heard that single word come out of her mouth, 'dad', he knew anything he'd planned to say was no longer going to work to break the news gently.

He looked back up at Ausha and Bakhti, his ears dipped and his face expressing his mind-blank. "I can explain..."

'Kota of course had done just as his siter had only he had collided with his fathers tail and ultimately Aushas too. When his father spoke though he pounced over and curled aroundhis legs before quite literally sitting on one of his paws and looking up at the big female. "You kinda look like my dad" he stated in a simple childish manner.

His own colouring of course was nothing like his fathers and his jet black fur set against the honey coloured mchele was a stark contrast even to his sisters soft white and pink colouration. Those sparkling onyx eyes looked up to his father and he grinned broadly "whos them daddy?" he flashes a smile showing those perfect white milk teeth. "we followed you yano? we's like secret cubbins of doom with sneeky feets" he giggles proud that they had managed to ambush their rather embarressed looking father.
