This started out as a Private RP for myself and Tarashi Jenkins, between Feles and Laniger.
Now that Laniger has Feles and is taking him back to the Sun Court, it is officially open to all Sun Court Fey, as well as Spina, who can travel between the courts.

It was barely past midafternoon when Feles set out. The day was an overcast one, and didn't look to clear anytime soon... which was just perfect by his standards. It meant that he only needed minimal coverage on his extremely pale skin, and wasn't wrapped up like some mummy.
He would have preferred to come out at night, but there were very few herbs that he knew well enough on sight to be able to distinguish them, even with the light he had now. The sack that was slung over his shoulder swayed back and forth as he made his way deeper into the wooded area around Castellum Umbra, heading for a series of small meadows that he knew were already showing new growth from plants and herbs.
He was hoping he'd find what he sought. The list of herbs was tucked firmly in Feles' mind, as well as the images that had accompanied the text. As he learned more and more, he was finding it surprising that some of it, he already knew. Apparently this was more of his memory of the past coming back. Now if only he could get rid of the memories he DIDN'T want.
Shaking that thought from his mind, Feles picked his way through the underbrush, making barely a sound as clawed toes sank into soft earth.

Laniger crouched thin-lipped in the embrace of a tall oak's branches, lost amid the sunlight and shadow as his thoughts were. Before him, past the cool green of the wood, the towers of the Castellum Umbra seemed to stab murderously to the sun.
That place needed no age to smell of decay.
He had slipped from the confines of his chambers soon as his strength had stirred again, to learn how much the realm had changed in his slumber. Most easily noticed was all the old faces had vanished, replaced by far younger, unfamiliar ones. He didn't linger on that longer than to simply be annoyed by the fact that sooner or later, he would have to get to know them all.
Humans....somewhere in that stretch of time, a peace had been made enough to sire his Kithain, to make possible many of the new fey he'd seen. He didn't wish to contemplate that either. His head ached still as it was.
So here he came, then, beyond his court, to his one timeless truth.
The Moon Court was always stirring some sort of s**t.

The satchel slid from Feles' shoulder as he finally made his way into one of the small meadows. He was closer to Sun Court lands than he would have liked... but it was only here that the spring renewal had truly begun and he was able to start picking through the growing plants to find the herbs he was looking for. Two were marked off of his mental list almost immediately, the cat carefully plucking the young plants from the ground and shaking the dirt off of their roots.
If he was lucky, he could keep them intact to the point where Aranea might be able to grow more of them for herself.
The aconite was going to be a problem... he would have to be VERY careful to avoid injuring himself while handling it, or it would only be his corpse that would be found. Sitting down in a patch of grass, he picked at the roots of the herbs, cleaning them off before placing them into the sack for transport.

The cat's turn to be the mouse. Laniger's hard frown curled slightly at the thought as he watched Feles from his perch. He slowly slid his bow over his head, then sought the quiver at his side.
Especially amid the dense canopy of leaves, the Fey needed the magic to correct his crippled depth perception. After his long sleep, he felt as though he'd newly lost his eye again. His breath quickened in frustration as they railed against the words of the spell.
The wicked barb levelled as Laniger considered a target on the feline Moon Courtier. So shockingly pale in the light, anything was fair game. At last, he drew back as he focused on the crook of one of Feles' folded legs. His expression became as cruel as the bolt he aimed.
An eye for an eye....

Feles leaned over to pick at a small hedge of plants, nimble fingers pushing past the ones that he didn't need and going for the small, rounded leaves of the belladonna that rested beneath them. A faint smile quirked at the corner of his lips as he plucked the leaves and blossoms, setting them in a portion of the bag. So intent was he on his work that the first inkling that he had of trouble was the whistling sound of the arrow heading right for him.
The white furred ears pricked up, the bag dropped and forgotten as the cat instinctively started to duck down and turn towards the sound...
...but it happened far too fast.
Pain blossomed in his leg, his knee buckling as he felt the bolt pierce through and drop him to the ground. Letting out a sharp cry, he tried to reach for the bolt, and nearly fainted from the agony of trying to move it. Who had fired it?? Pale eyes narrowed, the pupils closing to slits as he searched the trees and shrubs nearby. The cat's claws sank into the ground as he tried to keep himself from screaming each time he tried to get to his feet. With the bolt still in place, he couldn't quite manage it, however, and his mind came to the only recourse it had.
~*ARANEA!*~ The mental call went out as he sagged to the ground once more, the simple Calling spell the only one he could think of in his current state. He couldn't hold it, however, and the link was broken just as quickly as it began as another wave of pain broke his concentration. By the time he looked up again, his teeth were gritted and his breath ragged from trying to compensate.

Aranea was on her way back to the dungeon, a full phial in her hand of a paralysis toxin for the prisoner when the faint shout of her name echoed in her head. 'Feles..' she whisperd, sure it was he. But where...? She hurried to his chambers first, banging hard on the door as if to rouse the dead. Then she ran to her own chambers..and found his note. 'Outside..' she murmured, clasping the note to her breast. If something had happened to him whilst he was doing this thoughtful thing for her....no! She moved inside her room quickly, snatched up her dagger and left her room so swiftly she didnt even bother closing the door. She padded across the grounds, heading slowly into the woods. She was no tracker however, and circled over her own beaten path a few times, listening for any sound of him.

"So we are the soft ones, eh?"
Laniger leapt lightly from hiding and strode forward, watching Feles writhe in blind agony amid the grass with a gleaming eye.
"Mewling kit. Shall we see how beloved a pet you are?"
The older Fey reached to grip for the younger's trembling forearm.

Feles let out a snarl, the sound fading into a hiss as he lashed out at Laniger. "Keep your hands off of me," he growled, one hand raking its claws against the other's forearm. He moved to scoot back then, and felt his entire world spin as the bolt in his leg made it perfectly clear to him that it was still there. He felt himself falling back, his eyes slipping closed as the other Fey grabbed hold of him.

Blood seeped from the scratches the claws sliced into his tanned skin, but Laniger's single eye did not even blink at the pain, nor did his grasp falter. He crouched down, studying Feles' pale face, slack and silent now, wreathed by silken snowy hair. Another the archer did not know. But perhaps it would bait a more familiar one into showing herself....
He scooped the feline fey over his shoulder, bearing the slight weight as he did his great bow.
"I shall be glad to keep my hands off you....after they've thrown you into safer keeping."

Groaning softly, Feles cracked his eyes open and saw the ground moving in front of his eyes. Alright, not QUITE in front of his eyes, but still... that wasn't where the ground was supposed to be. Shaking his head softly, Feles tried to push himself up, and realised that his arms were bound behind his back. "Dammit," he muttered, trying to kick at the man carrying him, his tail lashing and swiping across Lan's face as the man walked.

Grunting, the older fey merely clenched at the switching tail, giving Feles a sharp shake by it.
"I have arrows enough for your other limbs, kitten." he rasped low in warning.

Growling in his throat, Feles, tried to keep himself stable and felt the stab of pain again as he moved his leg. "And I've got claws enough to rake out your other eye," he hissed, the tip of his tail lashing back and forth in Laniger's grasp.
This was NOT good. He could tell by the change in the scenery that he wasn't in his own territory anymore. Each time the sun came out, he winced and tried to hide his face from it, his body squirming in the other's hold.

Laniger chuckled hollowly, hold tightening with each squirm. "I welcome you to try."
He finished with a merciless shift of the younger fey's wounded leg.
The soft wind caressing past the archer from behind carried no scents or sounds of pursuit.
