Her distended stomach hung low as she padded along. Though the pretty little femme still walked with the grace of all cheetahs she walked alot slower then she usually did. She was tired. She hadn't meant to wander off again. if anything she felt foolish for leaving the bao tree to look for some wheer more peaceful. Where was more peaceful than there? Still, she could feel the babies moving inside her now, they had started kicking just a few days ago giving her sickness, alot of it, making her irritable, which she never usually was. She had decided she needed to find a nice, quiet place when it was time for her cubs. They wern't due yet, she knew that, but finding a place now ould mean less searchiogn later. she was an organised little thing. Making her way towards the edge of the coalition lands she was sure she had seen some nice big tree groves with plenty of cover perhaps even a nice open place for her to make a nest in and relax when they decided to come?

One of these little groves opened up before her now and she padded in without a care in the world. She still wasn't entuirley sur ehow many babies she was having. They made a whole lot of movement though kicking and writhing in ehr belly. They were shifting now as she entered in tot he quiet gloom, trees cast a beautiful shade around her and she was happy to lean against a tree and take a moment just to relax. This place would be perfect for her cubs to be born in to, if only theer was a sheltered spot for her to lay in, some where hidden. she would look soon, search the whole grove for a place to rest and sleep and spend some alone time, to build a nest for herself. But for now, just a little rest would do her good. Shifting uncomfortably she sighed. She truely couldn't get comfortable her tummy never sat quite right the cubs within her pressing agaist one thing or another making her restfl state a rather fidgety state.

Once again, Siku had managed to get herself lost. This always tended to happen when she was left alone, she realized, padding about the area as she looked around it curiously. Atleast it was a bit nicer here, she thought to herself, entering a small grove of trees that seemed to be a peaceful place. It was much nicer than the dry area she was going to head out to with Kijibwa, she figured a little break wouldn't hurt much. Casually strolling along, the fur on the back of her neck bristled in fear as she realized another was in the grove, and Siku quickly darted behind the nearest tree, hiding from whatever-it-was that was with her now. Peering about, though shivering up a storm, Siku nervously eyed the other.

What was that thing? She'd never seen one around the pridelands before, and it definately didn't look like prey. Predator was definately more like it. Daring to come out a bit more, Siku curiously watched the creature lay down, seemingly unable to get a moment's rest. On top of that, it's stomach had a slight bulge like she'd never seen before. Had it really eaten that much prey? Gulping, she began to back up nervously, wanting to run away as far and as quickly as possible.

SNAP. Breaking a fallen twig with her back paw, Siku jumped in alarm and rolled into the open, losing any chance of escape she'd had before. Looking over to the other once more, her ears drooped nervously and she looked to her paws.

"I..I'm sorry to have bothered you.. please don't hurt me..." she murmured, unable to look back up to the other across from her.

Colche continued to fidget irritably until she heard the crack of the twig. She was upon her paws as swiftly as she could. Had she wandered so far from the coalition lands? Oh gods whaty she in rogue territory, or worse the pride lands? her ears flattened tightly againsther head and she gave a hiss.

She soon calmed though as the yellow and white cub came in to view. She tilted her head curiously "I won't hurt you" the beautifully marked femme smiled softly. It was a cub, she couldn't be frightened of a cub no matter what the species. they were young fragile wonderful things.

Very slowly the blue eyed femme lay down attempting to get comfortable again crossing ehr fore paws as she did so and glancing at her shifting belly. she just couldn't get comfortable. "you havn't bothered me at all little one. i was simply resting" she whispers after another moments silence dusty blue eyes resting on the young lion cub a slight smile playing on ehr delecate maw.

"A..are you sure..?" Siku said timidly, looking up to the other cautiously as not to offend her. Tail swishing, she looked down once more, on edge more so than usual around this new creature. Then again, Siku usually was on edge around everybody.

"I..I can leave if I'm bothering you, I mean.." She added quietly, quiet prepared to turn and do so if asked.
"Since you were in this area before I was.." Siku murmured, suddenly feeling very guilty as well as nervous. She'd probably woken the other up, she realized, or disturbed her as she was going to sleep.

"I'm.. I'm terribly sorry if I barged in on your home, I mean.. I'm not very familiar with the area.."

Colche smiled gently at the little cub "You arn't disturbing me at all" she whispers "I don't live here I'm just having a little rest" She sighs softly stretching out her front claws as she did so turning her dusty blue gaze upon the youngster.

"I'm Colche" She puurrs the smile never fading from her delecate maw "I promise you don't have to be afraid of me I couldn't do you harm even if I wished to" the gentle eyed cheetah shifted again an uncomfortable look crossing ehr maw. She finally settled again at least for the moment turning ehr smile back on the cub "What is your name little one hmm?" she sighed gently she would be naming her own cubs soon. What would she call them? How many would she have? So many questions she just didn't have the answer to any of them. Time, she had it on her paws but without knowing how many cubs she was bareing, she had no ideahow many names she would need.

Hearing the comforting words of the other, Siku managed to relax a bit, though still on-edge as she usually was. Sitting down, she nodded in agreement to the fact she wasn't bothering Colche, though still fretting that she actually was. She'd been told things before that the speaker didn't actually mean.. could this be one of those times?

Blinking in confusion at her own thoughts, Siku was suddenly snapped from them as Colche spoke again, seemingly intrested in learning about her. Gulping, her gaze fell to the ground again, shifting uneasily as the other asked her of her name.

"I.. I'm Siku." She said quietly, worried if the other really was going to hurt her. Sure, she'd sounded nice, but there was always a way to fake that..

Colche tilted her head. This little one was very nervous. she suddenly felt like she was looking at herself. Frightened of adult lions nervous and twitchy afraid it would be her last conversation. She sighed softly and shook ehr head "thats a very beautiful name"She puurrs a deep soft sound radiating from her chest a very soothing noise indeed.

"Would you like to hear a story Siku? I'm going to be heer for a while I need to rest" She chuckles softly as she moved again shifting her bulky belly "I'm afraid I rest alot these days I'm carrying some cubs you see I'm pregnant" She smiled and glanced at her large belly with a flicker of her tail, perhaps it would relax the cub to know that she was soon to be a mother. That she would nto hurt a cub.

"Th..thank you.." She says shyly, embarassed that the other thought her name was beautiful. Siku was obviously beooming less tense, likely because of the fact Colche was being friendly and open with her in talking. It was very odd for Siku, being so uptight and nervous, to be with yet another being who was able to relax and be so calm. Maybe she needed to try harder to be more like her and Kijibwa?

At the mention of cubs, Siku suddenly realized that the other hadn't been eating her fill, but preparing for a family of her own. Sitting down, she did infact ease up, smiling softly and nodding at the offer of hearing a story. Maybe it would help to pass the time, and be enjoyable as well.
"I'd love to, actually.." She said, still in her usual quiet tone.

Colche smiled gently and after another movement of her aching body she spoke softly calmly and without speed as she told her story.

"There once was a creature not unlike a lion, he was smaller though and many lions bullied him because of his size." she paused recalling the tale in her head a smile crossing her lips. "because of this the poor creature was very sad hiding where ever he could, which was rather hard because his coat was the colour of gold. In those days the land was very green and lions, true lios melded pretty well with their surroundings because they were of a soft tawney colour. He though was of such a bright golden yellow colouration that the lions would sneak up on him and play foul tricks. He was much too frightened to leave the land though afraid if he left that hewould onkly find worse creatures than the lions whom would torture him more."

She paused for a moment and smiled at the youngster. "One day though when the poor beast had had quite enough of their tauntings for the day he decided to travel and ask the gods for a favour, something to help him not be afraid any more. He travelled many leagues in search of the ellusive gods and found nothing Until one day he came upon a great jungle.

At the edge of this jungle there was a troop of monkeys tiny little creatures with bright orange faces. They claimed to be the protectors of the jungle and guardiens of the sun gods temple. The creature was un beleiving and went forth in to the jungle with his tail high in the air and smirk on his face. Why would a sun god bless a monkey? The tiny chimps followed him through the trees though and over days he walked until he came to the temple. perhaps the orange faced chimps had been telling the truth?

As he stepped in to the courtyard of the sun gods temple though he suddenly noticed that his fur had changed colour from gold to jet black. He was so surprised at this that he ran up the temple steps and came upon an alter. there a bright light shone and he realised that this was indeed the temple of the sun god.

The creature spoke to the sungod asking him for a gift and the sun god replied 'i have already given it, you can live in saftey in my jungle now and never be bothered by lions again.' as time went by he did indeed get used to the jungle his claws changing to suit climbing trees. He became the first panther the jungle leopard and he lived forever in harmony never to be bullied again"

The cheetah smiled to the little femme and twitched her long tail, she couldn't quite remember why this story was important. "sometimes I suppose if you try hard enough you can over come your fears and become a better person hmm?" she smiles gently at the little cub hopeing she gleaned something from the story at least.

Caught up in the story, Siku lay down quietly on the grass, listening with intrest to Colche's words. It was a fascinating story she told, about the little lion who managed to change himself. Her curiosity soon caught, however, on the mention of Panthers in the jungle, as well as the mention of the sun god. Ears drooping, she shifted uneasily, looking to the ground in worry.

"A..are panthers still in the jungle, Colche? And the sun god, too?" She asked nervously, wondering if she would encounter the monkies or Panthers on her trip with Kijibwa. It was all very frightening, she realized, even if the story was about over-coming your fears. Gulping, she looked back up to Colche.
"B..because that's where I'm heading for with Kijibwa.."

Colches ears twitched a little and she smiled gently "yes thee are stillleopards int he jungle but the sun god, I do not know I have been to the green reaches and have never glimpsed him except for the tint of him in the sky." She smiled gently at the frightened little lion "Leopards do not attack lions they would be fool to do so" she puurrs rolling her shoulders a bit stretching her shoulder mucles.

"I'm sure you will have a wonderful journey. the jungle is a very beautiful facinating place for those whom care to go there" she gave a sigh remembering the jungle it's tres and dappled shade. "beautiful" looking at the little lion she shifted slightly her dusty blue eyes gently dancing smiling. "overcome your fears and the world is yours" she puurrs it was true, though as a cheetah she had much to fear from the larger cats she knew now she did not need to fear them all.

Relaxing at the note that leopards did not attack lions, Siku smiled and eased up, rather relieved there was one less thing she had to wory about. Watching the other relax more, she drew a deep, relaxing breath, closing her eyes to enjoy the peaceful area. She quickly opened them once more at the mention of her fears, snapping awake in looking to the ground in embarassment.

"O..overcome my fears..?" She asked quietly, not really as much for Colche as it was for herself. Maybe she would enjoy life more if she relaxed and enjoyed life, instead of being so skittish and afraid. Looking up, she managed a grin, tail thumping with the burst of excitement that ran through her.

"I'll try my hardest from here on out, Colche!" Siku said, adding a nod of agreement to re-assure her words.
"And then, when I'm really brave and not afraid of anything, I'll visit you again sometime, and see your cubs!"

Colche smiled glad the cub trusted her enough to come closer "you're a brave girl Siku I can see that" she whispers. "You would be most welcome my little friend" she coos "I live around here, well near by in the coalition lands." a gentle puurr echoed from the little cheetahs chest and she patted playfully at the cub. She loved cubs they had an energy that she couldn't help but feed off of. "I'm sure my cubs would adore you when they arrive"

Colche lave a little light laugh then "come sit with me for a little while I could use the company" her dusty blue eyes danced happily hoping the cub would trust her enough to approach. The beautifully marked cheetah grinned, she loved to groom cubs to care for them and see them happy. Perhaps that would be enough for her own children. Maybe carefing for others cubs would be enough experience for her to give her attention to the cubs growing in her belly. The thought was wonderful but she was still afraid.

Nodding quietly, Siku padded over to Colche, sitting down next to her for a moment, before lying down completely and closing her eyes.
"I'll come visit, then. I would love to see what your cubs will be like."

She seemed to relax for a moment, before suddenly glancing over to Colche, her eyes filled with sadness and worry.

"Colche.. do all mothers have such a strong bond with their cubs?" She asked quietly, looking to the ground nervously. "I mean, would you, being a mother soon, be sad if one of your cubs left you?" Siku shifted uneasily, looking to the ground and trying to clear the thoughts racing her mind. Was her mother alright..?

The female cheetah smiled softly leaning over she groomed the youngsters ears carefully, cleaning away the dust that had formed there from what ever travelling she had been doing. Once she was satisfied she smiled and gazed at the youngster with tender blue eyes.

At the females question about motherhood Colche turned to her large stomach and gave a sigh. "All mothers miss their children" she coosnuzzling the young female with her nose "But they also know that all youngsters need to see their wonderlust to it's fullfillment" She chuckled lightly "your mother will miss you little one but that will only make your visits to her all the more wonderful" She smiled lightly. She barely thought that far ahead of time. After all her own cubs were still growing within her. She did however miss some of her young friends, korou, Raja and Adem. Three young males whom held a close place in ehr heart. he missed them when they wern't around but their visits were wonderful when she saw them.
