I've started downloading Gorillaz remixes and songs available only on internet and single to see what is up with all of those type of object-os.
And I'm half impressed, half suicidal.
But mostly impressed.
So, anyways, what are your favorite and least favorite Gorillaz remixes and b-sides? I'll download the ones everyone likes if I dont already have it.
Don't know where to GET remixes?

has EVERYTHING Gorillaz. SRSLY. I don't think We Are The Dury is on there, but BESIDES that, YES. The sound quality rather reminds me of cardboard, but its still fun spending a day doing nothing but downloading hard-to-find Gorillaz songs. But dont download the albums and singles! Buy those at the STORE, you cheapskate! *throws a quarter at you*
But HHHHHANYWAYS
Favorite Gorillaz remixes:
* El Manana (Metronomy Mix) - This one takes ALOT of getting used to. Imagine taking generic rave dance music and putting it over El Manana. It makes it VERY hard to sing along to, but is very dance-able, and is fun to listen to. Keeps you listening to see WTF its going to do next.
*Dirty Harry (Chopper Mix) - A very Black Eyed Peas-esque intro in place of the original (the violin solo before the B.B's rap, but sped up), and given a more kinetic, danceable beat. Still able to sing along to, and is very nice. Goes straight from the 'I need a gun/To keep myself from harm' shpiel to the first verse of B.B's rap, and does this the whole song, thus cutting out over 10 seconds of the song.
*DARE (Soulwax mix) - My FAVORITE Gorillaz remix. Very catchy, with lots and lots of interesting noises, but not over-the-top abstract. At the begining, at Noodle's "Ohhh-ohhh-ohhh's, you can hear the original DARE fade in and out in the background. Close to sounding too mainstream, but not quite. Also, 2-D does ONE verse, but not the whole song like the DFA mix. A small let down is the 'Its coming up, its coming up,' is missing from the begining. This song reminds me alot of a techno, cyber-goth Alice in Wonderland.
*DARE (Chab Remix) - Wow. Kind of dark, long intro. But then it gets pretty exciting. Its just the original DARE, just distorted and more sounds added to make it less disco more techno. I was kind of dissapointed with how much like the original it was. Its just like meshing DARE and a techno song with the same basic beat and tempo together, but there are a few parts where it sounds different (eg, Noodle and Shawn's parts at the same time). About 6 minutes into the song a really wankery sound comes in that dosent fit along at all, which sucks. But the half ot the song before that is good.
*Jamie T Turns To Monsters (Kids With Guns Refix)
(GUEST REVIEW by Guerr!lapop)
Never before has teenage angst been elevated to an art form so well. This track features the ever-talented Jamie T., who gives it some major punch. The complicated drumline on this track, combined with repetitive lower-octave piano, equally repetitive higher-octave guitar riffs...not to mention a choir (you can hear 2D singing in there if you listen closely) and orchestra give this some real drama. Is almost nothing like the original KWG - the only similarities are a sampled clip of Neneh Cherry and the slightly boring bridge, which is the chorus and one verse of the original song dubbed over a spare, classic piano backbeat. Who would think to do that? Calls to mind both 2D as a cabaret pianist (with Jamie T. mucking around in the background) and then a hoarde of drunken pirates as the song roars through its climax. Not-favorite Gorillaz remixes:
*DARE (Pollyn Mix) - Ehhhh. Different singer, not Noodle, but 2-D is a backup singer?! Not as fun as the original. And they de-uniqueify'd it! It doesn't sound like a Gorillaz song anymore, it sounds like main stream techno. Same annoying sounds throughout the whole song, just tweaked and lengthened at the song's climax.
Sort-of-Favorite Gorillaz Remixes:
*DARE (DFA mix) - Okay. I used to hate this one, but now I only SORT OF hate it. As I said before, the bass line changes everything. The classic video game beat is also bearble at this point. I gave this song its own little section, because I have found things that I both love and hate about this song. One thing I absotively despise is that the actual song is only about....5 minutes long. the last 7 minutes of the song is nothing but near unbearable noise, added in only because it would probably be played in clubs. I would download this one, but dont expect TOO much.
