immortal mutsumi sigh.....i think that i shall have to read the series again....... it has been a while...... so whats your fav. these days kitsune? Alanna/George, but Aly/Nawat is really cute. Numair/Daine is alright, and I also love the (imaginary, on my part) Kel/Neal stuff... Overall, I'd say Alanna/George.

george is really awesome.......i love how she falls for the guy who isn't ravishingly beautiful, that always bothered me about romances, its always seems to be the beautiful guy or girl that gets the best treatment...... that or the person nobody even likes to look at......
george is nice, witty, and he knows how to take care of himself. thats a turn on.
numair is......simply perfect. he's powerful, protective, and he fights for what he believes in, even though he tries so hard not to love daine he spent his last bit of magic to find her even if she was dead.......(refer to my post on the quotes thread if you wish to know what i am talking about.)

Hmmmm..... It's hard for me to chose between Nawat/Aly and Numair/Daine. I think I'm going to say I like N/D better. I just love how Numair will get caught up in some stupid discussion about the history of rocks, or somthing equaly odd, for hours at a time.

i love that about numair!!! its a wierd little thing that just gets under your skin. the thing with nawat is that because he is a bird, he doesn't understand how humans think and that is funny.

But is Nawat/Aly considered beastiality?
I cannot believe I just asked that question. Cos, well, he WAS a crow before he was a human and, yeah...
I thought Alanna was kind of a Mary-Sue character, since she did everything perfectly and had it made for her, except for her explosive temper which didn't really get her into any situation she couldn't get out of.
I'm going to go with Daine and Numair. They're a cute couple. whee
One thing I love about Tamora Pierce's books is that all her relationships are realistic, since most of them grow out of friendships.

Well, she did have to disguise herself as a boy, but like, even when she did (and mind you, she was only ten/eleven years old) she never slacked off, not even once and was dilligent and hardworking to the point where it was slightly unrealistic. I know Ms. Pierce just wanted to make her persistent and determined, but really, even if you are, you still get discouraged sometime or another, y'know? Also, she had the powers, the eyes (Mary-Sue litmus test: major points) and the cat, and the sword AND became the first female knight of Tortall in a hundred years, along with being the King's Champion... Like that kid from the Bazhir said to her. I kind of agreed with him. I'm just a really nitpicky person, and no book is perfect. The rest of Ms. Pierce's characters are wonderful, so I'll cut Alanna some slack, since she WAS her first book and first character. It's not like Alanna was like ARYA or ERAGON. *vomits at the thought of those two blatant Mary-Sues* Oh god, I sound like such a book-Nazi. gonk

I admit, Alanna is a bit of a Mary Sue (making me feel better about my first book character!) but she's still got a good story, I think.

Yeah but even when she was in trouble with the duke it wasn't that bad. Tamora even says it in the book that Gareth was proud of her for most of the stuff that got her into trouble. He was just punishing her because he had to, and both of them knew it.
