Okay, isn't this June? Shouldn't you guys get off hiatus and make some actual WORK? This means no one posted for a whole month, shouldn't RIP, well, come back from the dead now?

Roughly 7 months ago, a small re-design in the website ruined a program designed to run the price guide, with the features which we planned. Now the site has gone through several total re-designs, each more annoying and un-workable than the last. Plus the price guides are now no longer allowed to even be in the exchange, and with the total disregard the admins have towards the economy, we don't see the point in putting in the work.

We wouldn't have quit if the site wasn't constantly driving changing and causing code/navigation chaos.

I hope we can one day show exactly all the work we already did, so people can get a small idea of how much this project meant to us.

there is hope.

as you are all aware, they have finally scheduled a battle system release. You may also be aware that I've always worreid what would happen to our economy with drastic changes.

RIP: rest in peace, can also mean death.

Currently, we have an economic boom coming. Primarily from two sources here or coming soon, plus a third coming later.

The letter word game = money, but it also turns into points of some other variation, and generates items.

Our current objective should be to help each other capitalize in this area, including word lists that are not classified as "words" even though we know them to be.

We should also have lists of words we do not normally see in dictionaries which are still, strangely, added.

We can also make petitions for additions to the Word game's dictionary, which could function as a community effort.

When the Japanese were flattened by Nuclear weapons, all their hard work went to hell in a handbasket full of Napalm. These decisions were not made by the individual workers, or, for that matter, many of the survivors. They were made by executive and administrative decisions boards including MacNamara's cold logic, and strategic mistakes on the part of the Military of Japan.

But they rebuilt under strong leadership (MacArthur), and pulled themselves together, to make one of the greatest countires in the modern world.

We do not have to look at this tragedy as an excuse to abandon our ideals, merely look at it, as a part of the growing experience, in a world wildly transitioning from one aspect to the next. We can learn from Kalexi the art of independent server programs which can be hotlinked and function no matter how poorly Gaia goes down.

And then, there's battle. Battle = war, and War = a significant portion of GDP, which in Gaia, means hundreds of millions of Gold. We can set up to capitalize on the acquisition of rare weapons of violence, defense, and budget accordingly. If they program Mac -9s and Uzis, and Uzis become popular, we buy lots of Uzis and sell them accordingly.

I'm in the middle of a Macro Economics Course right now, and this is DEFINTELY, definitely NOT a waste of time. Its worth it...

As tapping the vein says...

You bet your life it is

Bassje told me about that, but the forum has been dead for an entire month, can't that live at the very least?

@ Noire: I didn't say it was a waste of time, I'm saying that we ought to rise from the grave, as the word game has shown to not be profitable, thus far, due to too many credits existing. Once the items come out, they should be fairly easily affordable this way, and so, a profit still won't be made.
Besides, it's not limited time only.

only partially true. I watched a couple of items essentially double in price, and for a brief time a few items increased by about 50 k each, then dropped by 25k.. the beauty of these items is selling them during the rush then buying them back when the rush fades.

next we have tattoos and makeup coming out. Its highly likely that some of the bug values may skyrocket, as unique tattoo patterns become more difficult, although who knows. Battle system is coming out soon and it appears to have a heavy connection to the gaian economy.
