Ok, don't be alarmed by the title. I ain't some newbie Final Fantasy player, this is more of an RP based question.
In the games Potions restore your health/hit points then what are there affects on wounds (normal or deep). Do you guys think they instantly heal em or that you still have to bandage it and stuff?

From what I've seen of RPers and fanfic writers, they usually make characters "drink" the potions, yet from the way potions and various other status-ailment recovery items are used in the game, it actually seems like the "potions" and such are bottled in powder form and then "sprinkled" on the wounds. Watch the process closely and you'll see what I mean. It certainly doesn't look like they're drinking it, although I can certainly see how that would be easier to explain in respect to an RP or fanfic.

Ya, I was going to say you could test the theory by stabbing yourself and pouring some Potion in there...but that wouldnt really go over well sweatdrop

I think it's a nummy sports drink that enriches your body, and heals it to perfection!
that or some magical wizard stuff, blah blah blah, crafted by zeus himself blah blah... something like that.

Holy crap, you actually made a thread from the question I asked you... Heheheh... What I think is that the potions are a kind of revitalizer instead of a quick healer. You drink it, and it helps you out when you're near knock out. The pheniox downs didn't bring back the dead, but gave energy to the ones who were knocked out. Maybe if you poured it onto the wounds, it would maybe make it smaller or seal it. Like something out of Harry Potter, when the pheniox tears helped heal Harry Potter when he was near death.
So, I don't know. It may be a kind of a thing that stops you from dieing, it may be a healing liquid. What I think is the first, but maybe you could pour it on yourself and it could heal you... Like a kind of fountain of healing thngy from Legend of Dragoon...

Hmm. potions is something you drink or pour on your self or the wound I guess...
When you drink it, it will give an effect on your body. and it will last as long its running through your system.. like alchohol I guess...

Potions probably have nanomachines in them...I think that's what they're called...Something with nano....They are extremely small robots that can cure anything.....so if you drink it you'll be cured in minutes or seconds.....no need for bandages....

I would agree with spraying it or pouring it on the wound, since in FFVII they do throw it over themselves or their, friends. They don't drink it! Besides, if they were to drink it, it wouldn't just heal one wound and dissolve, it wound stay in ur system, and would heal any other wounds that appear, but thats what we WISH! It only heals something once... But what do we know, unless we ask the people how made the games themselves, we might never know! sweatdrop stare sweatdrop wink confused

The thing about the nanoboy theory is this. If they were truly nanobots and healed any wounds you had, they wouldn't leave. They'd stay in your system permenantly, and EVERY wound you gained during and after taking the potion would heal. The potions are a one time deal, so it can't be that... I'm sticking with 'pour it on wounds, it seals wound.' Maybe you'd drink it if you had, like, internal injuries, or stomach pain, or something...

It's not likely it can cure stomach pains. Remember the Digestive in FFVII's Wall Market.

i think the way they work is they heal your wounds to a certain extent. different levels of potions heal wounds to a different extent. so once you drink the potion, it will heal your wounds to the maximum that that potion can heal!
