Okay everyone, we''ve all been heartbroken, even if you don''t realize it. But what does it mean to you? Everyone has an opinion about the meaning of being heartbroken. I want to hear it from you. And also, what is the most terrible way for a person to break up with you?

Heartbroken?
*sighs*
To me, it means a period of time when you're depressed over a recent departure of a relationship. It means that the one you loved has just given up on you for stupid reasons.
I've had my heart broken too many times before, so I personally know how it feels. I don't want it broken again either.

Heartbroken means many things. Its a feeling of disapointment, of lost. It doesnt have to be depression. But some times theres feelings of regreat and great saddness. It hurts. And many times your cry your self to sleep at night thinking of all the reasons why you are heartbroken.

and, i think i gotta say, the worst way for someone to break up with you is when you're in a relationship where you've asked the girl afew times if you could become a real couple, and her answer is 'i'm not ready for a real girl-girl relationship' one day you're hanging out with her at her house, the next day she calls you when your home alone and says 'i'm going out with [insert girl she barely knows here]'

i know, not exactly a breakup, but it hurts like one, or more confused

Heartbroken, for me, is feeling like s**t. You're basically in pain, emotional pain, which I think hurts a lot worse then psychical pain. It feels like your insides have been ripped out, and you're hallow. Nothing seems to help and no matter how long you have moved on, the feelings never really disappear, they just lay dormant until something happens that sets them off again.

I remember my last break up, me and him had been going out for 5 months, he IMed me on the internet and all of a sudden starting cussing me out and saying he never wanted to see me again. It hurt, a lot...I cried, went into a stage where I wouldn't really talk to anyone, but now I'm better. I can't shed another tear for that boy and probably never will. But the feeling he left me with, remains, and I remember all those times of happiness I felt and then that feeling of emptiness and betrayal that still linger.

Heartbroken huh? Let me just give a few adjectives and my only personal example...
love, passion, unrelenting, emotional, pain, jealousy, rejection, suffering, doubt, fear, longing, hatred, denial, false acceptance, stagnant affairs, ruined relationship, and loss.
KNOWING you're in love and knowing theres nothing that can change it
KNOWING they will probably never feel the same things for you and knowing theres nothing you can do about it
WATCHING someone take what you FEEL is yours and knowing theres nothing you can do about it
WONDERING if it'll ever stop..
wondering if you'll ever feel again...
wondering if you'll ever get over it..
heartbreak? no...hearbroken...

Personally, I think the worst way to break up with someone is if they tell some else to call you. Just over the phone is bad enough, but getting some else to do it for you!?

Heartbreakon....how about when the one you love dies....
