It was quite the day; sun shining, birds singing...And Coailiann flitting around the garden like she was on a sugar high - which she most likely was. Now that she had some semblance of privacy, Kay had taken to raiding the mini fridge of all the apple sauce, apple pie, and other random sweet apple things she could get.

No, she still hadn't grown out of the "Apples are God" phase. Yet.

The sidhe was skipping around the garden, her dress blowing around her, hair frightfully long, and her shoes scattered this way and that.

She looked more like a nymph than a Sidhe at this point - all she needed was a severe lack of clothes. Which would eventually happen.

Youko had chosen today to go out into the gardens, it being FAR too nice a day to sit inside and wait for someone to come into the HQ. Instead, he and Shavri had ventured outside, the fox walking along with a smile as the wand seemed to hover just over his shoulder. Since Shavri had become a ghost, things had gotten VERY amusing around the house... up to and including the already-present cries of "DAD, IT'S POKING ME!" coming from various areas when the ghost would try to get attention.

It was SO hard to not laugh.

"Hihiihihi!"

The fast child's voice penetrated the air as she frolicked (YES, she was FROLICKING) over to the kitsune, her bright green eyes shining with energy and her wind-whipped hair clinging to the faint trace of lip-gloss that she had put on her lips to keep them from chapping.

She recognized the man. Somewhat. "I know you! Sort of. I think. Don't I? I've seen you. Oh you have a baby ghost!" she waved to the little ghost, "Hi!"

Ianna would really have to put a lock on that door.

Youko laughed as he heard the baby's squeal in his mind and the ghost floated over to Kay, spiralling around her head. This was good... it was ATTENTION! And one could never have too much of that, right?

"Hello there, Kay," Youko said, moving to sit in the grass and watch the two. "How are you today?"

Coailiann reached up to pet the ghost gently, careful and mindful of it's misty state, "Hyper! I had cooookies and cake and pie and and and and and..." she bounced a few times before flopping down on the grass beside the older man.

"OOF! How're you? And ghosty? And and and..." she looked around the garden, eyes full of glee, "Look! The roses are coming in!"

Youko half wondered if one could hook up a generator to the child and power most of Durem. "The roses are lovely, yes," he replied, watching Kay with a grin that stretched from ear to ear. Shavri seemed to be enjoying this greatly, bouncing here and there around Coailiann and letting the wand twirl just over the girl's shoulder.

"I think Shavri's having fun watching you," he said, hearing the baby's laugh in his head, even though no one else could.

Wrong! Kay could very much hear the baby ghost, and it was only fueling her glee and her overactiveness, "She is! At least, I think she is. She's laughing, yes?"

Kay took a few deep breaths to try and settle herself down. If she DIDN'T settle down, she'd be too sleepy to practice the harp later - and that just wouldn't do at all. She had promised herself she'd practice an hour a day even if it annoyed her guardian.

Little ghost, Shavri, How are you? she asked, attempting to link their minds together. Youko could only hear the sounds that Shavri could, if she were a solid baby, physically make. Kay could link to thoughts.

SQUEAL!

Shavri stopped dead for a moment, then nearly latched onto Kay, the wand poking into the girl's hair like a chopstick. Fine, fine! How you?

Shavri didn't have the grasp of language yet, just what she'd learned from listening to Youko and the others around the house. Still, there was someone who could HEAR her! This day was getting better and better!

Youko just stared at the two, realising that there was something he was missing here... but couldn't quite figure it out.

Coailiann giggled as the wand poked into her hair, the white silk texture easily sliding over the gnarled wood. It seemed that a lot of people enjoyed speaking to her - mainly wands and ghosts since she was really the only one who could perfectly understand them.

Giggly, hyper. You coming soon? Growing?

It was up to the baby ghost when it was time to grow, she knew, and maybe if Shavri told her she could give Youko a heads up!

Then she could be super helpful!

Soon... maybe soon. Shavri was fully content to stay the way she was for now. But that was just now. Tomorrow? She'd see how it worked out.

Fuzzy boy cry... Shavri said, the voice suddenly turning a bit sad. No come out if boy scared. She remembered Yashima, and didn't like the fact that the boy always cried when she was around.

Maybe you talk boy? Make no cry?

Shi? Shi does not like girls very much. Kay answered the ghost, stroking the misty body gently, fingers tickling best she could with something that wasn't solid, But I will speak to him.

Coailiann turned to look at Youko, "She says she may come soon. I need to speak to Yashi. She does not like making him cry."

She nodded then and tickled at Shavri once more.

But I no girl...

Shavri's voice was confused and she turned as if looking at Kay. If it was possible, the ghost looked dejected, slumping a bit until it was little more than a cloud that hung near Coailinn's ear.

What are you? You do not feel like a boy... Coailiann responded, moving to pull the tiny cloud into her lap and hug it. It was the best she could do with the baby ghost. She would cuddle her...It...When it arrived.

Not boy either. The baby ghost was content to be snuggles... well, as best as it could be right now. It curled into a violet ball in Kay's lap, and giggled softly. Shavri didn't know how to tell Kay what she was... she wasn't even sure herself, and had just started referring to herself as 'she' because Youko did. It seemed easier than trying to come up with something that fit.

"Soon, hmm?" Youko asked, smiling as he watched the two interact. "Well, everything's all ready for her... and I'd been hoping to talk to Yashima and Patrick soon too. Maybe we can figure out a way for Yashima to get along with her."

That may be the problem. He's confused. She answered the ghost, smiling down at her quietly before looking up at Youko with those bright green eyes. At least she had settled down and wasn't her own source of electricity anymore.

"I hope so. Yashi...I think I'm the only girl he likes. I don't know if he knows what to make of someone who is neither boy or girl. I will talk to him, I promised her."
