The dream starts with me leaving the house to go to work, but I blank out and when I recover I had been driving, but I had no idea where I was. My only land markings was a beer store that somehow seemed familiar and I felt that if I took the next right I could get to work. So I made my turn and came to this very posh area, that again felt familiar and knew that if I turned down a certain street that the street I would eventually connect with my work place. But the road I took eventually narrowed into nothing more than a walkway going up a hill that wouldn't allow me to drive my car any further.

So I back tracked to the main road and tried to find another route that went up the hill, but there was nothing. And then I realized I was no where near work or home. So I started to look for town names or signs to give me something to look for on a map. But when I looked to the passenger door for the maps and pocket they usually sat in, I saw they were gone. The town names seemed familiar, but they had no connection to where I live. So I knew trying to back track past the beer store wasn't going to be helpful. So I started looking for people and a convenience store. In my search for a convenience store I passed a road marker which said 11, but I couldn't tell if it was county road or Highway (which would have helped pin point my location). Anyway I finally found a convenience store, and the clerk had never heard of my town so wasn't of much help. I bought 3 maps, one for the area I was in, one for the area I came from, and one for the province. Another person in the store asked if he could look at the maps as he was lost too. So I took the maps outside and spread them across my car, but none of the maps matched what they were supposed to be. (one was of a series of lakes that I didn't recognize, the second was no where close to being my area, and the third was of North and South America.) The person I was with said thanks and whispered "Hastings" as he walked away.

So I travelled down the road a bit further and noticed the road was built following a river. Eventually, I came to a park area with a huge crowd of people and thought maybe someone in there might help me out. Turns out it was some type of "hunters clensing ritual" as part of some activity the town did every year. The leader stood in the water as people from a line up stepped in as well and dunk themselves under for a moment then walk to the other side. The whole thing sounded cool, but I thought it would prove to be uncomfortable driving around wet when I didn't have a spare change of cloths. But as I was about to walk away, my aunt and uncle showed up, told me "all things happen for a reason" and before they disappeared in the crowd told me they were surprised I didn't remember this place as "I had came here once as a kid and had fallen into the river."

So figuring I was meant to come here I got into the line up. But by the time my turn came the river was nothing more than a trickle and a wooden platform was balanced on some rocks so that I could stick my face into the water without getting my cloths wet. And when I was on the otherside the river it came back at full capacity. As I started walking away the leader gave me some message (which I can't remember now that I'm awake gonk ) and as I went back to my car I saw a road I recognized and knew it would eventually take me home. And the I woke up.
