 Ra sat on the bleechers that overlooked the track and main soccer pitch. Staring up at the mountains half convered by clouds he lit a cigarette. He liked to come out here when he wanted to be alone. It was one of the few places he could garuntee there would not be many people.
Sighing he lay along the bench seats and stared up at the grey sky. He needed time like this, more now than ever. Taking a drag on the cigarette and cursed timing. Why did Chii have to be out of town when her needed her most. It was almost pathetic, all he had wanted lately was her warmth and energy. Especially after the slashing business.
Exhaling to the sky he watched the clouds moving overhead. At least he had moments of fun, things to keep him going through the nightmares and the psychos. He was very excited about the prospect of a tattoo and honoured that Aaron was willing to design one for him. There was also archery, with Kayne still suspended he had actually managed to get some focused tuition. Even kendo was good for the stress relief despite Morimoto being in charge.
He took another drag on his cigarette and smiled a little to the sky. It was the small things that counted.

 Israel returned to one of her favorite haunts. The school's track had one of the best views of the mountains and she was itching to do some landscape sketches. With one headphone in her ear, she was singing softly to herself along with the song that was playing. Hopping up into the bleachers, her eyes immediately fell on a lone figure stretched out on one of the benches. Shifting her bag on her shoulder, she grinned and attempted to sneak up on the familiar boy, only to plop down on his stomach.
"It's a beautiful day, isn't it?" she asked Ra with a brilliant smile, that faltered when she noticed his injured arm draped over his chest. She realized how close she had been to sitting on it, and was thankful that she hadn't. Judging by the bandages it didn't look good. Dragging her eyes up from his arm, she looked back into his gray eyes and smiled brightly again.

Ra hadn't been paying much attention to anything around him. He didn't notice Israel until she literally was on top of him. He flinched slightly at her contact but stayed where he was. Giving her a wry look he turned his attention back to the sky.
"It's not bad." He said with a shrug returning his cigarette to his lips. "You know you're not as heavy as you look." He said through his cigarette putting his good arm behind his head. Looking up at her he removed the cigarette and spoke as he exhaled. "Haven't seen you around for a while Is, how are things?"

Israel blinked. Did he actually just say what she thought he just said?
"Ohh... I see. I leave you alone for a while and you think you've got jokes now?" she giggled, starting to kick her feet a little in the air, causing her to bounce a little on his stomach. She reached up and pulled the earbud out of her ear and peered down at Ra. He seemed... relaxed. Not that he was an uptight sort of guy, but she had always pegged him to be the sort who liked his space and seemed kind of guarded. Shrugging it off, she stopped kicking her feet and gave him another brilliant smile.
"Things are going much better these days," she grinned, thinking about how much had changed in her small little world since she had last seen him. "What about you Rashne? How is my favorite doctor doing?" she asked, glancing back down at the bandaged arm, then looking back up to his eyes.

Ra frowned a little as she started to wiggle around. Was she trying to make him sick?
"Do you mind?" He said giving her a mock glare. The glare turned to a smile as she said that she was much better. That was good to know.
"Believe me you don't want to know." He sighed returning his attention to his cigarette. He contemplated tipping her off his stomach but didn't want to hurt her accidentaly again. "I am wandering what's made you so happy this afternoon." He said looking up at her slightly suspiciously.

"Oh... okay. So I don't want to know why one of my friends has a bandaged up arm? Okay. I'll take your word for it," she grinned, still not bothering to move off of him. "But you know... I might have to start jumping on you until you do tell me," she said with a mischievious glint in her green eyes.
"As for what's made me so happy, is running into you," she replied, reaching up to push some of her hair out of her eyes. She was going to need to do a little trimming later, she thought. "So what's that look for?" she asked. "Aren't you glad to see me?"

"Of course I'm glad to see you." He said with a smile, as one of his more bubbley friends he was always glad to see Is. "And seriously Is, you really don't want to know what happened to my arm." He shrugged a little and reached down to stub the cigarette out blindly on the floor. "Let's just say I stood up against the wrong people."
He smirked again and rested his other hand on his chest.
"What have you been up to since we last met?"

Finally semi satisfied with his answer she pushed herself off of his stomach and moved to sit down by his head. Smiling she leaned back against the raised bench behind her and looked down at him.
"Lots of stuff. Painting, almost killing Xel, drawing, breaking up with Sora, photographing, drawing nude portraits of strange Italian guys who eventually become my boyfriend. You know... the usual stuff," she smirked down at him.

Once she had moved off him Ra sat up. He listened to her speak, blinking when she finished and shaking his head.
"I clearly don't get out enough." He said with a smirk. He was sad to hear that Is and Sora had broken up, though he was not that suprised. "Naked Italian guy?" He asked giving her a sly grin. Maybe Kayne wasn't the only one who had taken to streaking.

"Obviously you do," she grinned, looking pointedly down at his arm. She blushed lightly at his summary of Giani, even though she was the one to portray him like that.
"Yeah. His name is Gianmarco. He's an artist too and he happened to catch me while I was drawing some stuff. We got to talking about what styles we liked and his particular fancy is drawing n***s... something I had never personally done. Till I met him that is," she grinned. "It was really quite fun to do and from there... we just kind of took off. Though I guess when you start out posing nude for each other there's really only so many roads you can take from there," she laughed. She swept her eyes over Ra, then looked out towards the hazy mountains.
"And talking about all this reminds me... you owe me for damaging my head... which I most obviously suffered greatly from considering some of the weird drama I've put myself through," she grinned, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. She sat up and stretched her back a little and pointedly swept her eyes over him, then settling them back on his gorgeous gray ones. "I think you know what I want in payment," she smirked.

Ra turned to look at her and laughed.
"Wow, you never do things by halves." He said smiling. "Though he seems to make you very happy. I'm glad."
At her request he rolled his eyes and smirked at her once more.
"That was low. Using an accident on my part as leverage." He gave a small snort of laughter and looked out at the mountains. He was in such a careless mood. He didn't care that she had sat on him, that she wanted to draw his picture, all symptoms of the emptiness he had been feeling lately.
"O.k, you can do it. But I am not taking my clothes off." He smirked and took another cigarette from the packet. "Can I smoke?"

"Why do anything by halves? What would be the point?" she asked with a shrug, still smiling, but dead serious. Blushing a little again, she nodded.
"He does make me happy. Very happy. I could bore you to death with the long and sickeningly sweet details of how happy he makes me, but I'll spare you just this once," she smiled and crossed her legs at the knee, bouncing her foot a little as she looked out at the mountains and waited for his reply to her implied question.
"It was low wasn't it? But it got the answer I wanted," she smirked as she pushed herself up and opened her bag. At his question, she glanced over at him as her fingers skillfully sought out the proper book and smiled. "Of course. It's supposed to be a portrait of you being yourself. A true moment if you will," she replied, and looked back down to produce the proper pencil from her bag. Setting her bag down on the ground she turned to sit cross legged on the bench, facing towards him and balancing her book on her knee.
"Just relax. It won't take long and it's completely harmless. I promise," she winked at him and shoved some more hair out of her face.

Ra smirked out at the mountains as she went on about how happy she was. He was pleased for her, but he had come out here to mope, not hear about how wonderfully everyone elses lives were going.
"Thank you for your benevolence Israel." He laughed, half wishing someone cynical like Obie had joined him. At least they could have had a depressing debate about something. "That might have made me rethink my decision."
At her directions that he should relax he slid down in the seat a little putting his feet up on the low rail infront of him.
"A true moment of me?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "Moping and lurking around on a terrace?" He paused and looked up to the sky. "Yup sounds about right." He declared with a snort of laughter. "We can talk right? I don't want to feel like I'm being stared at."

So she hadn't been wrong to guess that something was up with her friend, she thought as she studied his posture for a second.
"Of course we can talk. I have yet to stop and you have yet to start though," she grinned as she looked down at her paper and started placing guidelines. "So you talk, I'll listen. You still have yet to tell me truly how you've been. So you can either start telling me stuff or I'm going to have start grilling you with questions... and I don't take half assed answers," she smirked, glancing up to his eyes, then studying him a bit more as her pencil began to move effortlessly over her paper.

Ra rolled his eyes and looked over at her.
"Well, everythings fine." He said, lighting up. "If you ignore the fact that I got stabbed last week, that and I miss Chii a lot." He shrugged "Nothing you would be interested in I'm sure. Well maybe the whole stabbing thing."
He stared back out at the mountains and rested his bad arm on his knee.
