The purpose is to post something that has some sentimental or nostalgic value, something recent or something from several decades ago. Then the person below you will say Miss or Don't Miss and then post their own thing for the person below them.
Example:
1st person: Bon Jovi Concert.
2nd person: Don't Miss. Simple Plan concert.
3rd person: Miss.
And so on and so forth...

Both. I miss it because I went to lots of great concerts, but I don't miss it because I've gone to some really great concerts this year too.
