I don't think it matters english is english, as long as it is understandable. after all most white people are from europe anyway.

when I say "British english", I mean terminology-calling TV "The telly", saying "bloody hell" when you get pissed off, etc.

Well, I normally use British English when writing but only 'cause I read a lot of British books but it's a bit hard to tell... bugger!

What I must ask, as a complaint here, why exactly, when referred to as "British", do most people think that the subject is English? Of course, those from the United Kingdom are British, however in Britain (UK) there lies two minor countries, England and Scotland. Those from England are english, but, what a scottish gal like myself can't understand is, where on earth did Scotland go when the subject of Britain came up?!

Same thing happened to People born in the American Countries other than the United States. Sure, if they couldn't be called "American" what would they be called?. It's as if China declared that all Asians should be called Chinese.
