Info. General.

Wiki Has The Subject Covered

Vet. Advice
I have been playing paintball for a couple of months now with people whom have been playing for years and they have taught me a couple of things that I will pass on to you.

Before Game Day

Prep. Your gun. Clean the gun and lube it entirely make sure your familliar with your gun before doing so. Make sure everything is working just right by firring a couple of shots somewhere safe.

Clean your pods and face masks before you use them prior to going out on the field.

Bring replacement parts and your tools if you ever need to replace or fix something you have all the tools and parts ready at your disposal. Make sure they are organised as well, I keep all my tools and spare parts in a tool box I bought at Wal*Mart for 5 dollars(U,S $$).

Clean the outside of your gun to look profesional and show all the other kids you mean business.

Prepare what your going to wear, if your going to go play Woodsball wear something you can move around easily. Don't bring anything say..RED to a woodsball game you will stick out and you will be your opponents first target. Get your clothes ready and lay them next to your paitball gear.

These tips are here so that new players don't stall up games, your friends came to paintball not watch you set up your gear.

BRING A FIRST AID KIT!!!

Paintballing

Woodsball
The most common misconception new players bring to the yard is they think everything is all macho millitarry tactics.(unless it's scenario) Woodsball isin't scenario so no need to get too serious all you need is to not attract attention. I wear Cameo for that reason it really helps me blend in to my surroundings. One kid wore a bright red shirt he got nailed every round.

Next is just something that peeves me to no end. HIDE HIDE HIDE! You have a bunch of natural surrounding all around hide behind anything you can find don't just walk around shooting yourself. A woodsball field is NOT a speedball field the ground is not flat your be going over fallen branches and crawling in some cases. You'll get tiered very and one thing you should get used to is breathing through your nose and breath out of your mouth. Half the reason everyone gets tired faster is because they breath only throught their mouths. All the pollen and doesn't get filtered thru your nose and just gets right in your mouth not to mention bugs. (Yuk! but sometimes can be quite tasty).

Team work is vital always be in communication with your team mates, I think walkie talkies are taking it way too far some people use them I don't. Since you'll be hiding half teh time you won't know who is creeping behind you while you have your back turned. Team mates have to keep tabs on each other.

SpeedBall Mutha F&@^'er
I havent played much speedball someone who has been playing for a while can type something up and pm it to me and i'll post it up here and give who ever wrote it credit and props. I want to have everythig in one single entry.

SLAyEr66woot
speedball.
Make sure you get on the better team first off. Unlike woodsball the team who starts off good wins. I reccomend spending a little extra on a quality gun. The last thing you want to happen in speedball is to be outgunned. If its your first time you should brace yourself for some nasty welts. Unlike woodsball people will bunker the n00b and usually bounus ball. This is definitly the more exspensive side of the sport but it is as fun if not more fun than woodsball. Guns are more prone to break in speedball so get replacment hoses and allen keys so if you need to fix or adjust its all good.

Anyone who helps add to the topic by giving their own tips will be given an honerable mention and credit where it's due.

You don't need to lube your gun evertime your going to play. I lube my ram every month or so. My solenoid every like 10,000 shots. Then I lube the rest using the "lazy" technique.

I clean/lube my gun after I use it because if I'm cleaning the gun and it's already taken apart I might as well lube it up while I'm there. The last thing I want it to wear the parts down. A well kept gun is a happy gun that will not fail on you. It's generally a good rule of thumb.

just because you dont lube it doesnt mean it doesnt always work... its just a really good idea to lube your gun, me and my team lube up before every practice to make sure things work silky smooth, plus it reduces wear.

Rule For Woodsball:

Not everyone is a Sniper. Seriously. Most walk on's who say they are a Sniper, just don't want to get shot. When people are 15 feet away from you, and still don't see you laying down in the field, then you can start calling yourself a Sniper. I have had people get within ten feet of me, and walk on without noticing me, not just because of my ghilie suit ((Which is A LOT better then camo if you want to play Sniper)) but because I DON'T MOVE. Most rookies tend to take their shots too early. That can be bad, because they can miss and they can give away your position.

If you want to play Sniper, then you're in for a long and rough road ahead. This generally means point blank executions if you screw up as a rookie. So here are a few basic tips...

Never engage an enemy group of more then 2 people by yourself: One man is generally what you want to get. If you see two. Take your time with the first shot and while the second one is surprised. Take him. Three men will kill you though.

It is not smart to engage then enemy when he is walking towards you. Because if he is with a buddy, then that buddy can see where the shot came from most likely and kill you. Wait for your prey to walk past you and move on a little bit. Not a very far reach though. This means letting the enemy walk right up to you. If you shoot when they're right on you, you're dead. If you shoot when they just pass you you're dead. You must have patience and a nerve to steel to let them have their feet right next to your head. When the walk past you ((this if they didn't see you and you're good at hiding.)) then wait till they have their backs to you completly. They won't even be able tell which zip code you shot from if you are calm and silent.

A sniper must remain prone at all times. He cannot MOVE. Sniper is not a position for kids with ADD. Your muscles will cramp, you will get hot, you will get bored. Don't care. DON'T MOVE. If you can't follow this one rule, then you have no business being a Sniper.

Make shots count. Sniper's don't shoot at an enemy 5 times. No. You take one shot. If you miss, sorry Charlie, s**t out of luck. You're dead. Learn to make your shots count. To learn how my scope worked and how to conserve ammo, I carried only 10 shots in my pod onto the field when I was a rookie Sniper. That was a handicap to teach me how to conserve ammo.

Snipers are not glory hogs. You may get one kill a game, maybe two. Or maybe none. Don't be discourged. It's the deal. Follow CASS. My own custom Sniper motto. This is my motto. Not ripped from anyone else. Feel free to follow it.

Careful
Accurate
Silent
Stealthy

Now get on your stomach and get crawling Sniper!

I'd like to add something more.

It's all about good field possition when your a sniper if your in a position where everyone can see you, you're not going to be in the game for vry much longer. Get in a position where you can see a good portion of the field like the top of a hill looking downward into the field.

I disagree with the whole not moving part and agree with most of everything else. You can move, Just that when you move you have to be stealthy, crouch and prone your way from point to point. It's easier for the enemy to know where you are if you stay in one spot long enough. You just have to be carefull enough that no one will know your there when your moving or not move at all. Hide behind a tree or something.

Going prone gives you the most accurate shot you can get, and when a Sniper is prone and they try to move, they are the most noticiable thing in the world. Trust me. Ghost Flanker's can move, because they never go prone. They crouch down and hunt. Ambush Sniper, what I play, go Prone and well..Ambush. In a ghilie suit, trust me. There is nothing more noticable then a pile of leaves getting halfway up and scampering off silently. If you stay in one spot, you should blend in with the surroundings. Tree's don't move last time I checked. Neither should a Sniper.
