You have been tramping through the forest for about three days now. You and your party could have flown, teleported, or used a portal to get to where you were going had you wished, but you were in the mood to get a bit of exercise and see the sights on the way to your destination. It was near evening of your third day out when you began to smell and hear water lapping against a shore, as well as hear and see birds native to lakes and rivers. You were almost there. As you came out of the forest perhaps two hundred feet from the shore of a massive lake you stopped and smiled, looking around at the sight. The lake was so massive that you could just barely make out a dim line that was the opposite shore. To your right is the end of the lake that was perhaps only a hundred yards away so it was easily visible. The lake stretched away to the left well beyond sight. The trees in the area were all the type that lost their leaves in the winter and at the moment they were all a beautiful blend of oranges, reds, and browns. As your eyes drifted over it all they came to notice a huge mansion beyond the northwestern end of the lake. It's hulk seemed out of place yet entirely natural at the same time amongst this serene beauty. It was perhaps three miles away in a straight line. The oddity of the mansion made you curious though so you and your party began to move toward it. You are soon hailed though by a man on a ferry boat that was tied to a rather run down looking dock. You move over to him and converse for a few moment before getting on the boat. Once you and your party were aboard, the ropes untied themselves and the boat set out at an unprecidented speed despite the wind that was coming down from the mountains that stood towering behind the mansion. Within ten minutes you were approaching and soon tied to a much better looking dock that was directly under the mansion. To look up at the mansion from the lake shore you would have to crane your neck almost painfully so look up to its top successfully. One of your party even went so far as to fall over while gawking in awe at the absolutely gigantic building. The size of the mansion could have easily rivaled if not been bigger than a full sized castle. The size though was of little concern though after you had been staring at it for a good two minutes. You began to notice that it looked as if it was all built from one stone. The mansion looked to be carved from the mountains themselves. It was perhaps a mile from the docks to the mansion. Before you knew it you were standing at the doors of the mansion which were two twenty foot tall ston doors. they almost seemed like a wall, but upon very close inspection you could just barely see the division between the two of them. Also upon closer inspection you would notice that the crack between the doors was perhaps the only crack in the entire mansion. Touching and looking at it right up close made you very sure that it was indeed built or craved all from the same stone. Just thinking of how big the original stone must have been made your head swim. As you approached the doors they swung silently open. As you walked in looking all around you, you and your party all gasp repeatedly in amazement. The ceiling of the entrance hall was perhaps fifty to sixty feet above and even the arching rafters seemed to be carved in along with the rest of the mansion. Along both walls there were large and very well made tapestries that mostly depicted what looked to be a man and his family, and even a few generations down before they came to a sudden stop. Standing in the middle of the entrance hall was a man with long white hair that touched his shoulders. His remaining eye was ice blue, the other eye had a black patch ove rit. He stood perhaps seven feet tall. He looked a lot like the man that was depicted in most of the tapestries in exception to his eye color. He was dressed in all black clothing that looked to be made of silk. "Welcome all of you. I am Draeken, the owner of this mansion. I have been expecting you. You are all welcome to stay as long as you like and explore most of the mansion." Draeken's voice was deep and pleasant. As he spoke of staying two men dressed in black and red came out of a side corridor that you previously hadnt noticed. They offered to take your things and then led you down another corridor that you hadnt seen. They were also to be your guides until you learned how to navigate the enormous place on your own.

*Layout*
The general layout of the mansion is simple...sorta.
First floor: Entry hall is in the middle. Down a corridor to the right is a large and fully stocked bar complete with several tables and four chairs to each table. there is also a dart board and a pool table. The end of the right corridor from the entry hall turns into a T shape with the doors to the bar in the middle. to the left is a door to the public sitting room. several large couches and many cushioned chairs were in that room as well as a large fireplace. To the right of the bar is a door to the room that was meant to hold foreign audiences as well as eventual guild meetings. there were several cushioned chairs as in a circle near the fireplace on the left end of the room and a large table with straight backed chairs lining either side taking up most of the right end of the room. On the right side of the hallway leading to the bar and such were the kitchens. the doors to this are blended into the walls so as not to be obtrusive, as well as hard to find for anyone hoping to poison food. on the left side of the same hallway was one of three doors leading to the library. the main door to the library is opposite the entrance to the mansion. To the left of the entry hall and on the right of that hallway is the third door to the first floor of the library. to the left is the door leading to the large and fully equiped training room. The end of this hall ends in a T as well. only two doors on on either end though. The door on the right was to the shooting range which is equipped to handled guns and bows and various other projectile weaponry or magics. On the left was a gigantic ballroom. The wall between the ballroom and the shooting range was incredibly thick and reinforced with magic as well as various unknown materials to keep noise and objects in the shooting range. There are four sets of stairs located on the first floor. One by the sitting room, one by the large meeting room, one by the shooting range, and one by the ballroom.
(more of the mansion to come later.)

: biggrin raeken suddenly stopped and moved over to a tapestry of twin boys. he stood in front of it for a moment, his eye turning from ice blue to emerald green as a tear slides down his cheek:: Daved...Alamar....

: biggrin raeken looked at her and smiled, wiping the tear from his cheek:: thanks kid. ::it was obviously Old D in control right now.:: Daved and Alamar were my two sons. twins. i never really got to see them grow up. i wonder though if they are still alive out there somewhere. i know that they are immortal, but don know if they may have been killed or not. ::he sighs:: best not to worry about it though. the past is the past right? i'll give the young one back to ya now. ::he closed his eye for a moment and when he opened it was ice blue again:: i wish he would have warned me before taking over and getting all weepy...oh well. it is his mansion though and his kids.

::he laughed too as he headed down the first large hall on the left. he walked down that hallway for about a minute until at the end of the hall were wooden double doors:: and here is the ball room where i think we shouold have a celebration once Truinthil and Mastema are out of the way. ::he pushes open the doors and holds his hand out to show off the well lit and huge ball room. there were rectangular windows set at abotu ten foot intervals and there were fifteen windows along the wall opposite of the door. the floor was made of what looked to be marble and had intricate and old patterns that had somehow been soaked into the marble instead of painted on. there were chairs and a few tables lining the walls. from the ceiling hung three gigantic chandaliers made of diamond instead of glass::
