Since this is a romance guild we need to have a place we're ppl can discuss there favorite couples. (It doesn't matter if they got together in the book or not)

My first favorite couple would have to be Titiana and Alexander from The Bronze Horseman they are just so good together. He is tall and handsome, she is petite and innocent. Shame they keep hurting each other all the time.

Now it is you turn.

Difficult to say. Wait, no it isn't.

My favorite couple is Count Vasili Petroff and Alexandra Rubliov from You Belong to Me. He was too good looking to be legal and she was too smart for her own good. Both of them stubborn. They were obviously the perfect pair. Only they were determined to hate each other if it was the last thing they did. The tension. I loved the tension.

Oooh .. Maggie Pearson and Eric Severson from LaVyrle Spencer's 'Bitter Sweet' novel.

Maggie and Eric were high school sweethearts who went away to separate colleges and found separate lives. They both marry and never speak to each other again. After Maggie dies she goes home and ends up opening up a bed & breakfast in her old home town. She and Eric find out that the old flame never died ..

*sighs* I love this story, I've read it a few dozen times. I think the reason I like it is because it's not ideal and perfect. It's full of struggle and yet true love. smile

My other favorite non-traditional pair is Rickey and G-Man from Poppy Z. Brite's series of books (The Value of X, Liquor, Prime, Soul Kitchen, and D.U.C.K).

They are a gay couple who fell in love at age 16 and have been together ever since. They've done everything together and continue to do so as they open up their own restaurant.

It's just a great heartwarming relationship. It's so rare to find real love at a young age and yet the way PZB portrays it you believe it and desire it for yourself.

If she died how did she open a bed & breakfast shop. Maybe you meant when her husband died?

My favorite couple is Morgan DeSilva and Dante from "Twilight Hunger" by Maggie Shayne. Here is the back of the book:

He is every woman's fantasy, yet he remains alone and untouched. his world is one of secrecy and solitude, darkness and danger. Now one woman has found his journal. She has told his secrets. He must stop her, and ther is only one way...

When struggling screenwriter Morgan desilva uncovers the ancient leather diaries in the attic of an old house in Maine, she is swept into the seductive world of a long-dead madman who had believed himself a vampire. Now, though Dante's story has made her rich and famous, Morgan is wasting away. At night she dreams of him, an erotic fantasy so real she can see the marks on her neck, feel her life's plood draining from her. Almost as if he were real...

He comes to her at night. Watching her. Wanting her. she is one of the Chosen. She can be his, if he desires. And he desires it so much that he is filled with a terrible fear. He knows that his kiss can save her from destiny's curse, and from the enemies who stalk them both. But to save her, he must trust her. With his life. with his love. With the promise of immortality.

So have to be Daegus MacKelter and Chloe Zanders from Karen Marie Moning's The Dark Highlander.

Daegus was just pure sex (read this and you'll get what I mean). Chloe was just adorable. She was book smart and unaware of her appeal to men. The sexual tension in the book between them (Daegus wanted her, but she was determined to not give in) was just...awesome. whee

Oh yes daegus and chloe are good, but i have to say my fav are Royce Westmoreland and Jennifer Merrick from A Kingdom Of Dreams by Judith McNaught. this book was so great i couldnt put it down i finished it in a few days. lol..i think i read for hours and hours on end into the night.
This book is about a strong minded, independent woman also, but the hero is also quite a man. As the Duke a Claymore, when this english warrior takes a certain scottish beauty captive.. in then end he wants more than her body..he wants her heart as well!

I tried reading Karen Marie Moning's books and I just can't get into them .. did anyone find them slow to start and then find that they picked up the pace?

If I had to chose one, it'd be Lady Brenna and Garrick Haardrad of Fires of Winter by Johanna Lindsey. She becomes his slave due to horrid circumstances which leaves her wanting to kill him, but she falls for him and him to her.
