My high school, at the end of the school year, always releases a literary/art magazine. This being my first year of high school, I decided to shell out the four bucks (which I forgot to pay, by the way, and still haven't had it mentioned to me) and get one. And whadd'ya know... I'm flipping through it, and two of the pieces of art in it are sketches of Heero Yuy, drawn by a guy I've never met and never will meet because he's a senior.
Pleasant surprise, really. I have renewed hope in finding other Gundam fans in my school, seeing as how only one of my friends is into Gundam at all.

I can't draw at all! Heck! The only reason I pass art class is because my little sis and best friend are great and do all my work for me. Then again, I am an excellent writer. Why couldn't God give me the talent to both write and draw well. The best thing I've drawn is Ditto (purple blob with a smile) from Pokemon and I was nine at the time... sweatdrop

I'm not really good at drawing either but that's only in my opinion. My friends haven't really seen my drawings. And the drawing of your Mecha is really great void! How long did it take you to make?

I dunno, but it's been through several revisions already. I know it's pretty good, but I still see room for improvement...not to mention that I changed the design from being two shield wings with four sub-wings to four and two.
And in case anyone didn't guess, it's called Seraph Gundam.

That's pretty awesome... not much of a mech artist myself, though I plan on (eventually) learning. Seraph looks like a cooler version of Wing Zero from Endless Waltz. The arms and feet look cooler, and the wings are at least as cool.
What kind of equipment does it have?

The equipment I had in mind for Seraph was the same machinecannons and beam sabers as Zero and a broadsword with multiple beam emitters lining the blade (like the Muramasa Blaster from Crossbone Gundam, if you're familiar with that).
As for its ranged weapon, I'm debating...originally I gave it a hopped-up buster rifle, but now I'm debating giving it a beam bow. It would be sort of like a mix of a beam rifle and the classic Nerf bow set. It can fire standard beam rifle shots, or the handle can be pulled back, charging a shot with the power of the buster rifle, but more focused (like a sniper rifle as opposed to a shotgun).

Hmm... I like the beam bow idea. Maybe trades off practicality for coolnes, but looking cool definitely counts for something. A thin, focused shot with the power of a buster rifle would punch through pretty much anything in any Gundam universe.
Rising Gundam from Mobile Fighter G Gundam had a beam bow as well, though I don't remember the specifics of the power level.

I'm postitive you'll find other Gundam fans...sometimes we're just a bit quiet...that's all. It took me my whole time at highschool, but I had a crowd of friends, actually around 60 (believe it or not), who were rabid fans. Keep looking. As for the art...I can draw people but I know I'll never be able to draw a Gundam properly... sweatdrop ...I really admire people who can.

Fooling around with image manipulation. I think it still needs work, as the conversion process screwed up some of the colors...
