Alright, I just thought Dorothy deserved a thread. She is related to Treize after all although I'm not exactly sure how. Dermail is her grandfather and, I think, Treize's uncle so that would make Dorothy, Treize's niece and Mariemaia's cousin, right? Not exactly sure...

Her family does have an evil streak beginning with her dad, Alliance General Catalonia who is mentioned in Episode Zero. She obviously loved her dad because she mentions him in ep 48 during her fight with Quatre saying her dad died to protect her from sorrow. I actually pity since her family dies over the course of the series. I think Dermail was the only family member she had left. It must have traumatized her immensely when she inadvertedly killed him by telling him to go to space. I do think sh is mentally imbalanced because she seems to recover so quickly from his death.

In EW, she rallies the people to aid Relena so that makes up for what she did in the series. So is she a true villainess or is she a heroine deep down. I've always thought that after Une, she could have taken care of Mariemaia being related to Treize and everything. What do you think?

I love Dorothy. She's completely underrated and needlessly hated upon by most fans. It's pretty sad to see people just write her off as "Forked-Eyebrow b***h" because she's a surprisingly deep and meaningful character. With some more development, she could have been one of the best written characters in the series (as if she weren't already).

Regardless, I still like what they DID give us: a young woman trying to live a paradox, claiming to love war while hating it all the while for robbing her of her family. In a way, she and Relena are kindred spirits; it makes you wonder what life would have been like had Relena been taken in by the Weridge family and raised with Romafeller...

Where is neutral option for the poll? xp

As for me I tend to sort of like her more then hate her, she analyses thing in a war minded sense.
But yeah she despises war, it does set her closer to Quatre in that sense after all if you think about it I suppose.
She had her evil moments and good moments anyway.

Probably one of my favorite characters in the series, and so underrated. Her love-hate relationship with war is quite the interesting psychological conundrum. She had some truly interesting character development, and was almost certainly a little... unbalanced. I love the scene with her and Quatre at the end of the series, it really tells a lot more about her character.

Overall, I wouldn't quite call her a villainess or a heroine, just another poor soul caught in the middle of a pointless war... albeit, with more influence on it than most.

Being Dermail's granddaughter, I bet she has a seat at the ESUN. Though judging by her actions in EW, she's still a bit unstable... Being very opinionated, she might wreak havoc in the new government with her opinions. I'm not exactly sure if she's for or against Relena's disarmament ideals which replace her pacifist ones in EW.

Somthing else I find funny is that Relena and Quatre's ideals in the series are similar but Dorothy supports Relena while shunning Quatre. Ever wonder why?

Kind of weird considering Quatre was one of the five youngsters who were changing the times while Relena was in various spots at points.

Dorothy should've cut Quatre a break earlier in the series, Quatre was far from misguided.

In my opinion, I think the ending of the war could have had an affect of her mind. Like before it ended she hated Quatre and all the other Pilots and sided with the White Fang but after it ended she did sort of start to help Relena out. Also, Sticking around as a student at the school Relena was running in the series might have changed her views and made them good friends. Overall, I wouldn't say the she is a heiroine or a villian, just that she's either nuetral or is mentally unstable. That's only my opinion though. 3nodding

Dorothy's original agenda at the pacifist school was espionage. I think that's why Pagan doubted her and had a gun ready to kill her if she tried to hurt Relena. Mind you, I think her fencing is awesome though Heero beat her. She is definitely not neutral but I think all the psychological pain she's been through makes her psychologically unstable though I'm not exactly certain.

I see Dorothy in a way as a more extreme form of her cousin Trieze's ideals. She believes that humankind will hate war by experiancing the most brutal of wars ever. However she's more willing to go the extra mile to make sure that people REALLY see how war is. She's not 100% evil persay that it would make her a villian.... but she's deffinately not an angel.... she's more along the lines of someone who is in between..... sort of the anti-Hero persona of the story.... the person who does wrong for the right reasons.

Dorothy is... an interesting character. She has this strange sense that war is bad but loves it in the sense that she's willing to make it happen to show that it's bad. I was almost tempted to view it as a strange form of obsession, but that's not really the way to describe her situation. It's good that she thinks war is bad, just that she's going about the wrong way of doing things, I guess. Maybe this kind of thinking made her brain go a little derailed.

I have been introduced to dorthy in vOl6 I think that she and relena learn a lot from eachother and have a mutual respect for eachother. Dorthy challened relenas way of thinking and made her start to see that the world cannot be all peaceful. out of mutual respect for relena she helps her in EW because she sees what Triez admired and duke durmail thought. she takes her uncles stand I bet nad respects relena because of the fact that she supports the Gundam pilots that he comes to admire.

I'd have to say Dorothy's a little of both, and that it's due to her love of war. She goes where the war goes, and the side she's on depends on how much war she can experience.
